The Olympic tournament this summer is a who’s who of power teams, and it doesn’t even include the Swedes, Dutch or Chinese. Any of the twelve teams could snatch a spot on the podium, and it’s going to be super fun to watch!

@@SaraSarah I couldn’t come up with a Top Three teams for you. I mean, yes, I want the USWNT to go out and win that effing gold, but that’s one hell of a gauntlet to run. If France medals, for example, that would be the second piece of true silverware they would have ever won, behind the She Believes in, what? 2016? 2017? Camille Abily was Captain, I think.
This is kind of unrelated, but have you seen Sam Kerr is wearing what looks to be a wedding band? It could also just be an engagement ring, but I thought I'd bring it up. You expected that Sam and Kristie would get married sooner rather than later, so maybe they just did a small ceremony. Also, Sam Mewis and her husband were just in England, so it could have happened then. Honestly though, I have no idea lol.
OMG THAT WOULD BE AMAZING! I could see them getting married sooner since maybe Kristie is trying to get Aussie Citizenship sooner than later? Also why wait! The party will be amazing and it will be another chance to say I do!!!!
Clark has done more to boost and showcase womens sports than anyone in history. Last time I can remember this much attention to any woman in sports is when Billie Jean King played Bobby Riggs. (Yes, I am that old). I hope this continues as she starts in the WNBA. So far, ticket sales for games where Indiana plays have gone way up, but will that continue? Didn't with Sabrina Ionescu.
@darrel7589 Sabrina has been heavily promoted but didn't bring the added attendance & viewer ship the league expected. There are as you said other great NCAA standouts but the focus and press is about 95% Clark. I just hope she brings to the league what they expect. I also think it ashame that the losing team is getting all the fanfare due to Clark.
I think she is the present American sweetheart in sports. The 1st one was Chris Evert, I believe the 2nd one was Mary Lou Retton I believe. The 3rd one was Lindsey Vonn and then Simon Biles. I’m not an American so my opinion may not be correct.
Yeah Its so awesome to see what She has accomplished. Sarah and i will be watching Fever Games for sure. I think most of them will be on TV this season! Also Iowa Fans are NUTS lol They will watch anything Caitlin Clark
Hello Sarah and Sara. I commented on another US channel a few months back that it seemed strange to someone in UK to have more than one sport in a video. Women's or men's basketball is not as popular in UK, but for those of us who like US, Caitlin Clark was obviously the news.
I asked an American in UK, but they had been here so long as to not have noticed.
I commented elsewhere about Lauren James having a great game against Arsenal and I wished she could have had the same outcome in the World Cup final and someone sprang to her defence in reply. I had to point out that she made a difference in that game too, just played better this one. I think she is an amazing talent, but is still young and learning. Other people want her to show her potential to change a game all the time, which is not going to happen with 21 other players on the pitch.
Oh wow very interesting about Basketball in the UK. You know whats funny we get this Channel on our TV here in the US that Includes The UK basketball League I didn't even realize that the UK HAD!! I watched for a while it was cool! Yeah LJ is so talented. i hate the Racist Abuse she gets it makes me so mad. If someone doesn't like her fine but those Vile comments are really upsetting.

English squad in crisis after 4 points from 2 games, I mean really? I think Hayes needs to get LJ's anger issues on the pitch under control, but to compare this to Albert's comments, come on that's one helluva stretch, completely on a different level.

I think What we mean is that Lock-room stuff can affect any team and going through that kind of stuff will always be tricky at times. Hope it doesn't affect the play but sometimes it does. I will support you in whatever transition you decide to make because that is what a true Ally does. 😘😁 I think basketball, like all American sports, has it's niche market in the UK but obviously football/soccer will always be the queen sport. I also think Leah and Sam were showing their support for a soon-to-be fellow Nike athlete who has already raised the profile of women's sports by leaps and bounds, just like they did. Game recognises game (God, I felt so old saying that! 😂).

I had no idea the UK had one but Sometimes I watch the games in the back-round and they are fun! OMG yes good point I think I read that NIKE sent that Jersey to Sam to represent! Very Cool!
If we're going to talk about how well women's sports are doing I want to shout out the amazing start the Professional Women's Hockey League has had. I'm loving everything about that.
I'm looking forward to the Olympics and hoping Canada can do well again, although I think it's a very uphill battle to think they'll defend their gold, just because there are so many amazing teams. I wish they were allowed a bigger roster because it's such a compact tournament.
OMG YES Wendy! Such a good Point! I saw a tiktok about the Hockey crowds and they were AMAZING!! Everyone wants to see woman's sports and its so cool to see! These Women are so amazing! Yeah I think its Spain's Gold to lose but Literally everyone has a chance at the Olympics and France will also be tough to beat! Canada and USWNT will have their work cut out for them but i think They both can do it!

I’m not sure I fully understand whether these trades were player decisions (I haven’t done my research) or if they really were pushed out (maybe Paige Nielsen was?) and what factors made Maria Sanchez want to leave Dash. Thanks!! Yeah so much has been going on! I think we may touch on it. Trades and transfers are always confusing in the NWSL. Paige seemed to be shocked by the trade your right! And Im SHOCKED Maria Sanchez left Dash! Something must have happened really bad.
silly from LJ to do that, silly from Turner to post the photo, particularly as the latter just got into the England squad for the first time. there may be something left over from LJ playing for Utd as well. hope they can smooth it over. I think the most likely explanation for Emma's comments is that she just made a mistake and thought LJ wasn't on Instagram
During the game, LJ was booed by the United fans every time she was on the ball and cheered when she missed a shot. In a game against United when she scored she ran the United fans and held the badge, so yes I believe something is lingering there.
I think Emma just wanted to avoid the issue and move on. No coach should waste time fanning social media wars and players should be more careful too. It's immature.

Turner was in the England squad before - then was diagnosed with a medical condition, form wasn't great and was brought back recently as backup with Williamson and Bright both still out. She's very much on the fringe of the squad.
I didn't know how big March Maddness was until I heard of it in "The Gist Of It" episodes. Maybe it is because I'm so so much into basketball these days, and surely never looked into college basketball.
In some occasions I find Lauen James to be a little immature in some circumstances. I condemn though all hatred speeches in social media and hope that the judicial punishments against online hate speech will be raised.
The interesting thing is know that there will now be a completely new FA cup-winner in the WSL.
The nvt matches in the qualifiers for the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 will take place at the end of May and the beginning of June, so there is enough time for the English players to reconcile priot to these matches.

College Sports in the USA are still wild to me. They are kids in College who are like Superstars who still have to do homework and go to class lol And in Iowa in particular there isn't any Professional Sports so everyone Loves the College Sports that much more! Yeah I can't imagine being so young and Racially abused online constantly. Very upsetting.

We should!! March Madness was WILD and we are pumped that we really have gotten on the Train! (a bit late lol) We watched it last year as well but this season was really wild. And YES We will be of course rooting for the Fever but we wanna watch as many games as we can! very cool!

@@SaraSarah we grew up playing basketball. Our cousin played for the Brisbane bullets and our local Ipswich Eagles. One of the ladies playing was Sandy Brondello the NY liberty coach.
