U r a genius! Once I had a blackout for 10days and had only tiny birthday candles. I had to find a way to extend the life of them... After some googling i saw how crisco extends candle life! It works, those 5 tiny candles shoved in a jar of crisco lasted the whole 10dys! So i was very pleased to see how you made these. I will give this a try
A good way to get wicks into the bottom of tall jars is by putting the wick inside a straw! Then it will be straight and allow you to get it centered. :)
So easy and perfect gift for the holidays especially for candle lovers !

Does anyone know if body or massage oil will work instead of essential oil?
The candles are considered no wax because, although crayons are mostly wax, many recipes and instructions call for crayons, additional wax/beeswax, and many other ingredients. Just using the crayon itself makes it the "no wax" part
If you soak the crayons in warm water the wrappers come off better

The wicks were all over the place. You cannot call this centered, plus u have to secure your wick to the stick and not just wrap it around.

@@echobot1098 as the wax is hardening it shrinks. This way, the wick ends up misplaced and not in a vertical position as it should be. If it's put in a jar and the wick ends up close to the glass it may smash the glass and cause an accident. The same happens, and it is more dangerous to cause a fire, to candles that are not put in containers. The most difficult thing when making candles is to secure the wick to burn vertically in the centre of the candle.
P.S. I'm not quite sure if a four-letter comment diserved an analyical answer like this, but anyway...

The ingredients are easy to use to make this. Great DIY. I will have to try this, BBW candles can be expensive. I can use my own oils for scents. I hope you are okay, seeing the end scared me for a second.

cherilyn Crisco is oil based. The pigments in crayons are not oil soluble. This means the the coloring pigment in the candles will clog the wick and it will simply die out. Even if you made these in wax melts, the color will separate just like you saw when she took it out of the microwave. Ask any professional candlemakers. You’re just wasting money doing it this way. Candle dye isn’t expensive and can be found at any craft store.

straw method works soo much better for a centered clean look..🎀
Uncentered wicks are actually dangerous - it can heat the glass and some glass can break or even explode/pop if overheated. A centered wick keeps the heat distributed better, so no one spot becomes overheated and the candle will burn better as well. (I've been making candles for about 50 years now ... :-) )

I don't think that super glue would work on a glass container. I use glue dots or double sided tape.

miss em you can make lipstick out of crayons not the cheap crayons it's longer to melt and you would use different wax's and oil base along with vitamin e to preserve the lipstick other thing you can use is eyeshadow for making lipsticks
