Now I have a massive bill that they refuse to fix and expect me to pay. I just got really good at cleaning and sanitizing my equipment and the filters are cheap enough lol.
Hearing that there's a plasma shortage makes me so sad that I stopped donating the last two months, but the roads were so bad that they shut down the bus system
I feel so bad for americans. I have colitis, which is a chronic illness. Over time the patient becomes immune to the drugs we are given to treat it, so you have to switch medications. I am currently on biologics, the so called last line of medications before surgery - infliximab specifically which I get intravenously at my hospital. I checked and one monthly dose would cost around 1000 to 5000$ in the US. And I get double dose of it! All of this is covered by my insurance here, I don't have to pay any medication costs for it. My country is shit in a lot of aspects, our healthcare is far from perfect but it breaks my heart to think some people have to break bank to simply afford to stay alive. What an extremely cruel system.
Wow and dental, good for her. My whole teeth situation and only plan is that they all eventually fall out at the same time more less so that I can make a trip to Mexico and all in on some dentures.
Honestly, I just wish we could have an honest discussion in this country about it. It's only "socialize or not socializing" the system. It's never "hey, maybe the people in the system are corrupt." Or Maybe we can do a mixed system like Japan which has a majority of hospitals being privately owned, but has public insurance which covers I'm pretty sure 70% of the cost or more. They also have tight controls on pricing which are updated regularly: "The Japanese Health Ministry tightly controls the price of health care down to the smallest detail. Every two years, the health care industry and the health ministry negotiate a fixed price for every procedure and every drug." -NPR Of course, the question of avoiding strikes from underpaying doctors also comes up, but Japan apparently solved that in their last strike. But again, it's a lot of people yelling and a lot of nothing happening as the prices go up. Can't even try the simple point of price controls because it's either "not enough" or "too much."
Omfg I had to change insurance companies this year as well… it’s horrible. So many out of pocket expenses, where tf am I going to get my medications, why are my doctors out of network now? As somebody with a chronic illness as well… it’s exhausting.
I would totally understand if Ironmouse would say: "fuck this shit, I move to Wales" - because even the NHS in Britain has a better healthcare system. And don't worry, she would still pay, as she makes money with Vtubing - but much less as she is most likely paying in the USA right now.
The NHS is definitely NOT a better healthcare system. Sure the healthcare in the US has a lot of problems, but as hard as it can be to afford, you can get good care when you need it very quickly. In the UK, pretty much everyone ends up on months or even years-long waiting lists, because they have no incentive to make it any more efficient. Any sort of business run like that in the US would quickly go under, but being run by the government, the NHS can just do whatever the hell it wants and the english just have to put up with it, all while being heavily taxed for it.
@@vecghul2793 Yeah, I'm in the UK and while she'd be getting her daily medications and treatments for free she'd have to wait months or even years to see a specialist if anything goes wrong (outside of emergencies).

Wait...Dental Insurance and Medical Insurance are separate? :O Mousey needs the UK or the AU. Man we have the standard Government Health System and Private Insurance as an option on top. Anyway Wishing the very best for her this year. All the good stuff is available for her now.
Vision is separate too 😭
Bruh, you should see how much an ambulance costs. Some people refuse to be seen by a paramedic and ride in the ambulance because it's so expensive. They'll send you a bill even if they show up and you refuse their service.
Dental, medical, and vision are separate lol. The whole system is a scam.
@@infinitecurlie Yeah, got into a samll car accident a few year ago.
The officer and paramedics tried so hard to get me to take the ambulance, but I absolutely refused it.
I was a college student working 2 part time jobs, there was no way I could afford that shit.
Still had to pay like $50, but I was atleast lucky enough to suffer no lasting damage
AU? African Union?
I've been waiting on my meds for like 2 weeks.
Why can i imagine mouse saying "you go the money" at the doctors office
I wanna donate plasma, but i can’t if i’ve taking my adhd meds within a week of donating, and without the meds brain no work so good.
I gotta remember to use my dental insurance. Been 5 years since the last i went, and I have deep groves in my molars that they fill. Well, all that filling is gone, and cold things SUCK now, so I gotta go get that taken care of
Mouse has got them streamer bucks
It's so great she can afford good insurance now. What an amazing community
Honestly good on her for getting good insurance, helped an american i know who doesnt have insurance figure out if the foot they suspect they broke was a medical emergency and they had to go to the hospital or if they could just wait and see if it would heal on its own without amy intervention because they couldnt afford to go to the hospital for it
Im happy for mouse but the fact that she basically needs to be an international celebrity to not die is just insane.
Even someone with money like mouse, it still sounds like a hellscape in us style healthcare..... Can't imagine the stress and struggle people go through that can't afford it
I feel that, having to switch insurance and all the sudden the way you lived your life now costs so much more. I can't imagine what its like for someone like Mousey
I would still donate plasma but I can because I am recovering from Cancer and my pre-existing condition is Cerebral Palsy so I have a compromised immune system myself as a single disabled mom I wish I could help you mouse. I pray every day you get stronger and they get closer to a cure.
I also have a pre-existing condition and I didnt even try to get a heath insurance. I know its going to be almost impossible
I stopped donating plasma because my local plasma center was selling it to a company that does "young blood" transfusions for healthy rich people.
Wtf that's maximum scummy
@@kyokazuto Yeah my cousin had a lifesaving procedure that used plasma and I thought I was helping people like him,
Brazilian insurance is sooooo much easier gosh.
Plus, if you have to actually use it, you don't have to pay anything else.
Viva ao SUS e sua gigantesca fila de espera
it can work , but it can take more time than you can survive waiting it..
@@eldon515in the us you wait on those bills instead
I haven't been to a doctor in 9 years.
Holy fuck as someone who is chronically ill, I am glad I live in Australia.
I also have an auto immune disorder. I catch everything and was hospitalized for mrsa and sepsis. Healthcare doesnt wanna cover anything
How dose one donate plasma directly for mouse
I sadly can't spend, I always had a fear but since I went to the mental hospital and it was something you HAD to do, I got used to it a bit. But I also always have to take Antimykotika, because I always get the infection from my cat when he scratches me :')
I also have underfunction Schilddrüsen for over a year now TwT I really hope ya'll get better :( in my area quite some people donate tho! So that makes me feel less useless
2:42 ,remind me of the movie Pulp Friction when Samuel JackSon call his boss to send help after an accident
I am happy u r feeling better, and you got your insurance taken care of. know what u mean. I have my own list for my health care.
Makes me also wonder how her kid is doing.
Can't wait for the day that Mousey can finally visit the Denny's Bathroom with Connor. 😊
Whenever I hear plasma as a term outside of fallout my brain immediately just thinks “ah yes, there is always a plasma cell shortage in the wasteland”
Eugh I can only imagine the nightmare of changing healthcare providers.
And to imagine how many people ,are not as lucky like her, and cant actualy afford healthcare in the usa , but good for her
Medicare for all! ❤
Nowhere near as much of an issue that Mouse has, but I fight constantly for C-pap supplies that doctors say I absolutely need (I once stopped breathing 70 times within 1 hour while being tested on a sleep study) but because of one little hiccup, they 'lost' my insurance for 5 months and didn't say a word, just kept sending my supplies. Now I have a massive bill that they refuse to fix and expect me to pay. I just got really good at cleaning and sanitizing my equipment and the filters are cheap enough lol.
Yeah i had a plasma bbq las week and it was expensive!
Bro's lets all go donate that plasma
Hearing that there's a plasma shortage makes me so sad that I stopped donating the last two months, but the roads were so bad that they shut down the bus system
Its crazy to me that theres real people that are actuvely getting hurt by this system and still defending it
I feel so bad for americans.
There is no bigger flex in the US than having baller health insurance.
Hope she gets better and idk if she takes opiates but hopefully she can cut down and get that billionaire medical treatment
Some days, it can be so enraging to know how to make yourself feel better, but not be able to afford it. (I just want to eat without pain, man...)
Actually i have a donation appointment today.
Mouse has made it a goal for me to eventually donate plasma even though I am a bitch when it comes to any pain at all
It barely hurts. The hardest part of anything is starting. I believe in you, dude. (Bring a podcast to listen to; the wifi is for crap. )
@@uselesspocketwatch good idea I'll keep that in mind for the future
@@uselesspocketwatch would you say that it's more or less painful than a blood donation in your opinion
@@CreamIc7 Sorry, I have not done that so as to compare the two.
@@uselesspocketwatch what about a vaccine is it much more painful than that?
Sadly due to high blood pressure i dont think i can donate plasma
Little lady. Nice name for a gremolin.
We should upgrade Fancy boy to PoshDude too.
It's never "hey, maybe the people in the system are corrupt."
Or
Maybe we can do a mixed system like Japan which has a majority of hospitals being privately owned, but has public insurance which covers I'm pretty sure 70% of the cost or more.
They also have tight controls on pricing which are updated regularly:
"The Japanese Health Ministry tightly controls the price of health care down to the smallest detail. Every two years, the health care industry and the health ministry negotiate a fixed price for every procedure and every drug." -NPR
Of course, the question of avoiding strikes from underpaying doctors also comes up, but Japan apparently solved that in their last strike.
But again, it's a lot of people yelling and a lot of nothing happening as the prices go up.
Can't even try the simple point of price controls because it's either "not enough" or "too much."
*angry Georgist noises*
Omfg I had to change insurance companies this year as well… it’s horrible. So many out of pocket expenses, where tf am I going to get my medications, why are my doctors out of network now? As somebody with a chronic illness as well… it’s exhausting.
I would totally understand if Ironmouse would say: "fuck this shit, I move to Wales" - because even the NHS in Britain has a better healthcare system. And don't worry, she would still pay, as she makes money with Vtubing - but much less as she is most likely paying in the USA right now.
I feel like the welsh internet speed might also come with some issues if what Conner said is true 😂
@@vecghul2793because the tory rats have cut so much funding over the years that the NHS can do nothing but crumble
@@vecghul2793 Yeah, I'm in the UK and while she'd be getting her daily medications and treatments for free she'd have to wait months or even years to see a specialist if anything goes wrong (outside of emergencies).
@@greenie3419 Not free, but at least not some thousand dollars per month, as each medicine is capped at a payable price point.
legit fuck insurance.
I'm going to the doctor soon and I'll check my blood type to see if going through the stress of blood donations is worth it
I wonder how much is the insurance with her chronic condition.😮
😢😢
Funny how money solves (almost) all problems
