Although I supported Argentina's world cup win, France and Deschamps did him dirty by taking him off the field too early. He looked so sad and out of it!
He is so good and an amazing striker but is constantly overlooked and unappreciated because more than half of all those other players and those that oppose him are insanely jealous of his looks, skills and capabilities; he's like the triple threat to them!
You seem to be blinded by love. Given what is at stake in the professional football world, the best players availale to a coach are usually the ones he plays (according to player's profiles and systems of course). The first to go if the team fails is the coach so coaches always start the best players they have in their squad (regardless of their looks)just in order to keep their job. Deschamps didn't do him dirty but quite the opposite (France is so stacked with great offensive players that Giroud wasn't even sure to make the list for the world cup) not to mention that his changes during the world cup final were clearly real game changers... Coaches can play a player they hate as a person if they think he's good enough to make them win, it's part of their job as well as benching players they really likeas a person. They are not paid to be sentimental.
That being said I agree that Giroud is often under appreciated because he is a targetman and the layman (who assesses a striker's level by counting the number of goals he scores) usually fails to see what he brings to the table on a pitch besides said goals. Giroud is not the type of striker who's able to score consistently 20 goals or more per season but it's not his main role. As a target man his main abilities are his aerial skills and athleticism. Other players like Mbappé, Griezmann with France or Hazard when he was at chelsea and Leao now at Milan benefited from his work ( like his runs to hold the CB and deflections). During the past season for example, he barely made the top 20 goal scorer in the serie A by scoring around 10 goals but he scored important ones and helped with his targetman abilities his team to win the title.
Unfortunately for him and even though he is a great target man, Giroud is also limited compared to other strikers which explains why he spent so much time on the bench in the PL. Giroud talked extensively about it in an interview for Colinterview. He explained that he isn't the type of stikers who's able to participate in the buiding nor the type who's able to cross the lines though pace, dribling or passing and those players when available are usually favored by the coaches paying certain types of systems.
What i really admire about Giroud is that he is mentally very strong. We nicknamed him "the phoenix" in France because he's been often left for dead only to come back stonger. He is not as gifted for football as other players but he manged to fill quite the trophy cabinet by working hard to optimise his abilities.
Giroud is so adorable. I don't even know but I feel like he's just a tad bit shy and its so endearing

ahaha because in French it's a very common word "perspicace", we use it on a daily basis. And as a lot of english come from French, we sometime try to just pronounce it in an english way to see if it's actually correct!
