- How much would you pay for a brick based fire station? I look at the very impressive BUT expensive LEGO fire station against a Mega Bloks fire station which cost half as much as LEGO.
Can LEGO city show it's might against the Blok Squad fire fighters. Lego set 7208 and Mega Blocks set 2404 feature in this video.
Why is LEGO so expensive in Australia compared to the USA? When I purchased these sets $1 AUD could purchase $110 USD, but LEGO seem to be asleep at the wheel in relation to prices in Australia.

I've always been biased towards Lego, despite the very high prices. Their awesome designs and cool stories behind their themes such as Johnny Thunder and Lego Island keep me coming back. Nice review!

dropping a mega bloks banshee from halo. don't even try to play with it to much. it falls apart as you build but lego is always very sturdy. many lego buildings can survive a kick but mega bloks just crumble. But that is my experiences, not saying you have to think that lego is better quality.

Lego lost there copyright basically, so a company mega bloks took the blocks with studs and ruined them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mega blocks takes advantage of lego's success
They should have kept up their patent that I think would have put a stop to these shitty knock off bricks. You may as well buy your local stores generic bricks for a set like this if money is a problem.

@TheRayDredge just did some measurements, both ladders set at the same angle
mega block at full extension 230 cm height
lego at full extension 195cm height
the apartment fire was really just a fun way of saying the mega bloks had a better reach, not sure if anyone takes it too seriously...maybe they do..!

@BeanMeister22 thanks for the USA price check, i like the way mega bloks has double the vehicles here, and curious why lego only had 2, usually they throw in a very small trike or off road buggy as a sweeter.

@Nelaz6000 and let me also add, but lets keep this between us only the lego cab drop is actually two separate drops in this video as one camera stopped recording, so it pulled off two cab drops where as the mega bloks suffered so much damage after it's first cab drop it was pointless to continue with a second cab drop
the urban myth that mega blocks explodes when dropped may have some merit, but it takes the users of this toy to confirm that.

the lego vehicle was dropped more than the mega blok and after seeing it explode I had seen enough
the lego vehicle always came out with far less damage, anyway you are certainly entitled to your review of events, in time we will see if others agree.

The problem is mega blocks don't have a great system like Lego. The mega blocks figures are all different and the blocks are loose, plain and very cheap whereas Lego have sturdy and uniform bricks and clever master builders who make the best sets. Its called time and dedication not some dumb old cheap bricks and figures which are so unorganized and every set is has different shaped bricks and figures. I just hate mega blocks raaaagh!!!!!
I agree but I got to say I think the mega blocks halo sets are probably the best out of there creations. I just like how they put detail into the figures and how the vehicles look like the ones from the game

@N1XVAN the lego pricing where I live and many other regions around the world is alarming when you see how cheap it is in the USA, a few years back you could write this difference off because of the weak AUD but no longer

When I was a kid LEGO was a bit of a rich kids toy, I feel it still has to shake this stigma with the larger sets.

what's interesting there is some amazing clone lego now coming out of china for a fraction of legos price, I have received lots of mail in relation to this.
@TheNw1218 just on that, yes it is disturbing but there are now a number of clone brick makers pumping out identical bricks to lego, what happened to lego putting up a fight to stop this?
im pretty sure in the past they were good at protecting their product from copy cats, it's almost like they don't care anymore.

The only reason why the off-brand exists is because the patent for the tube design that keeps the Lego together ended so it was up for grabs and everybody took it

I remember one christmas I got a megablocks Hudson type steam locomotive. It took me FOREVER to build, and it fell apart really easily. The ups to it was that It looked fantastic...when it wasnt broken. Megablocks aint bad, but I think lego shoud be our winner here.

@MrLEGOANDY yes, but I think some of the very large lego sets also come with un-numbered bags, mind you the mental challenge possibly did me good, it really had me using my brain, eyes and hands to sort out a giant puzzle
