This is the time of year for the first harvests of spring, and strawberry jelly and dandelion jelly becomes a regular sight in the canners! In the past, Julianne has made a beautiful rose petal jelly, but this year she is making jelly from violet blossoms she has collected from these flowers growing naturally on the property. With her passion for herbalism and natural skills, Julianne loves foraging for wild things growing on the homestead and using them to create masterpieces back in the kitchen!

It’s really a beautiful project and one I never knew about. Thanks for the tutorial. I would love a series on your spring foraging and subsequent projects. 😊

I have used violet blossoms to decorate desserts, but I never knew they would make a jelly. How beautiful. Here in Oklahoma, people use redbud tree blossoms for jelly.

This looks so beautiful! Should the lemon juice be bottled or fresh?

That lemon juice really ruined the color 😢. I mean it's still a nice color but it was cooler before.
