Nice guy, interesting story but folks, pls dont be naive: He surely did the right thing and worked his ass off for it BUT: 99% of us dont have his genetics. Not his jaw, nor his chin, nor his muscle/fat distribution, nor his eyes and so on. You can clearly see it on his youth pictures: He always used to be an "alpha" and "omega" while is friends where "mediocre" next to him. I rly wish him the best but pls dont make the mistake to take too much risks because someone like him said its good to go for it. You have to have some (back)ground or at least a good starting position. Doesnt have to be sports. Can also be talent or IQ for other jobs.
@@Dornpunzel You have to find something you’re good at and go for things. Doesn’t matter what it is. Just do it.
Takeaways for me:
1) Once you choose a path, work your ass off to make it happen and don't give up on it until you've truly put it in.
2) Be honest with yourself when you set goals.
3) Never be afraid to tell yourself you want more from life.
4) Work with what you've been given; don't change yourself to fit your aspirations, change your aspirations to fit yourself.
5) Be humble and show gratitude for those who have helped you get to where you are.
6) Sell dreams
Great story Mike.
I took the plunge 12 years ago, set up my own company and haven't looked back since.
I didn't want to grow old and regret not trying.
It's better to have tried and failed than not tried at all!
This honestly was like having a sit down talk with your big brother, feeling a lot more optimistic thanks to mike
Me too!
The Gospel According To Mike
Hahahahaha! Comment on fleek, Robski! 😆💯
you lads need to linkup after coronavirus, best duo on youtube.
Looks like Dubai might be one of the first places to open up to tourists (not yet, but they're talking about it) - as such, we demand an epic 3-man, 100,000 calories eating challenge in Dubai with Mike, Rob and Matt :-)
whats the place he said he went to after college? Pawpanoose in Malbea?
I've got a challenge for you Mike!
Mike, you are one of my biggest inspirations. Im not kidding when I say I watched this specific video 13-14 times already everytime I need a boost on my journey, Working hard to one day be connecting with you as well.

Turned 40 years old this year and this vid has helped me to WANT MORE! Thanks Mike.
Wtf that 27 minutes flew by he was wrapping it up and I thought I was like 10 minutes in

Mike: When am I ever gonna whip out equations in a conversation😂😂
Unfortunately I also ask my self these questions in almost every lecture I attend
Amazing dude especially the talk at the end, super inspiring!

Your story is serious inspiration man! Hard work and perseverance always pays off 💯
This guy keeps licking every fitness youtubers ass

I’ve been watch Mike’s videos for a few years now and have a lot of respect for how he keeps on growing, on to the next level. Some inspiration for us all.
I really like this type of content Mike! There are so many successful people, but hardly any share their story in much detail leaving you wondering how to connect the dots and become successful yourself. So thanks for sharing this man!
Mike is a truly inspiring person and has led me to pursue my dream of becoming a commercial pilot and starting flight training this year!
With all the airlines filing for bankruptcy?
Go get it, I want to be a fighter pilot for the RAF so we're on the same path

Go after it and come back on here when you accomplish it .
Would love to hear that you did it

I appreciate how genuine, open and honest you are Mike! Great video
Still amazed at what you have accomplished at the age of 29 and appreciate all that you have done to help this old guy in my training.

You’ve inspired me to be my own boss Mike. I’m a 17 year old dude in Sweden making beats in my bedroom which I enjoy. I’m super grateful I found your channel, Mike. You’re one of the most uplifting YT’ers currently producing content! Cheers!
Moral of the story: "Behind every risk there is a success". Very inspiring, specially the 3 conclusions you gave in the end. Nothing ever changes if one settles. We have to take actions to reach our goals.👍👍👍👍. Wishing you more success.
I'm 53 with an above average house, in an above average city, earning an above average income (working from home mostly setting my own hours), in above average shape, with an above average wife, and this video still inspires me to improve upon almost all of those things (I guess I'll stick with the wifey!)

Thank you for making this video as it highlights that everybody has their ups & downs during life but working hard and having the will power of succeeding can bring changes.
Dude, this is one of your best videos - I love stories like this. Would love to see a video/more about owning the gym, getting it up and running, problems faced etc.
25:43 onward...love this message Mike.. I’ve been following you since the early days in 2017 and have enjoyed watching this channel grow and seeing you grow yourself. Best wishes going forward. Your positivity can help us all in times when we need it most
Well done that man, very inspirational and he deserves everything he has in his life, as he's put the work in.
By far one of the videos you have done for inspiration and motivation..Being at the age of 47 you can be stuck in a rut..but you have shown you can never be too old. Even the hubby liked it and he is hard to please...Thank you Mike! 🙏😊
I started watching this particular video to pass time during this quarantine. After a few minute in I became curious, so I continued. Then I began to feel the story unfold, and started to relate. After watching the entire video I say Congratulations on your much earned success, and I wish you much more to come! Thanks for adding some inspiration and positivity to this very difficult time
Let's get Mike to a million!! Watched the whole thing even though I already knew the story. Dope video!
Mike, I started watching your videos when you had Aurora. You inspired me to start working out, and now 5 years of training later I am an entirely different person! Fitness has transformed my life both physically and mentally. The risks you have taken have inspired me too, I am changing my entire career right now because I was unhappy as a retail manager making a cushy salary. Its not enough if I'm not happy! I am 30 years old and I feel like you have helped me immeasurably. THANK YOU MIKE. YOU MOTIVATED ME TO BE A PERSON THAT WANTS MORE OUT OF LIFE!
So calm yet so inspirational
Great to hear your story. I can definitely relate to your desire for more freedom and flexibility when it comes to work. I believe your past experiences, good or bad, have made you stronger and wiser. Stay strong and keep up the grind 💪💯
Been following you for awhile Mike, you’re a huge inspiration and I aspire to live your organized but nomad lifestyle.

Hey Mike, really great video! Was really intriguing just having that insight to your life and what sort of decisions you made to be where you are now. Watched the whole 27 mins of the video and fond it very inspirational and interesting. Keep the content going and good luck with it all.
Thank you for sharing your story. I felt identified in some of the situations you shared.
You truly took the best out of each opportunity, faced uncertainty directly and reused every single experience you had in your past.
Taking notes and inspiration from this video! 🙌
One of my favourite videos of yours, it really couldn't have come at a better time for me so thank you for inspiring me to get my head out my ass and sort out the bs in my life. Can't wait for more story time! Perfect to get you to 1M!!
Mike I have been watching your videos for a while but this today I finally signed in and subscribed to your station. You are a good dude.
Ngl this is my first comment on a CZcams video, but it’s something which had too be done, despite how cringey it may sound. Mike your my biggest inspiration and a role model in some ways your like a big brother too me. I can remember when I first started training I always admired your physique and your technique behind it. But the more I get too know you the more I see myself... I start university in September where I’m planning to study marketing, I literally have the same mind frame as you, where I want too be my own boss and not be someone else’s puppet. I could write another paragraph but I don’t want too bore you out and ramble on forever plus it’s past my bedtime and my mum would kill me if she finds out I’m still awake.. but mike thank you for making CZcams videos and being here... cringe yep... but your really providing a pathway for me to get to a good position in life, and I hope one day I can be in the same position as you.
Loving these school stories, I can totally relate to the bad grades LOL
The respect I have for this man is mental. Fair play for telling your whole story, serious props! 👏👏👏
Thanks for this and your three take-aways!
“It’s not like I was 30 years old having a midlife crisis.”
That line alone woke up me. Thanks for that’s.
How about 40 years old man😰🙄🤗🤣😂
Love this content
So glad I watched this video. just the reminder I needed.
I hope you the best and I hope you will just improve from now on. You have the balls man for taking so many risks in your life. You deserve it all and you should enjoy it to the maximum
I want to reach there someday. Stay safe.
I'm 23 yo and haven't got a clue how I'm going to pursue my dreams at the moment.....I've messed up studies big time 🤦🏽♂️
Why did you mess up your studies? And what was the dream?
The good news is you're 23. I know it feels like a huge deal that you "screwed up your studies". I'm 50 and have lots of life experience...let me assure you that it's absolutely no big deal. You have time on your side, something no amount of money can ever buy. Good luck.
Great story Mike! Thanks for sharing!
Mr.Thurston you're an awesome guy and a inspiration.I sat through the whole video because this guy is entertaining yet so down to earth and your physique is something I strive for. Keep doing what you are doing, Mike!
That was legit Mike. Inspiring stuff! Just started my channel to build from the ground up and this has inspired me a little more :)

Mike, honestly, you are living a dream life, everything in your life just seems so perfect, be humble u are a good man
So honest Mike and well put! Vision and hard work go a long way. Keep up that positive role model vibe.
I'm a few years younger then Mike and have been planning my big move the last couple months. It will be a huge risk with an unknown outcome yet it needs to be done. i can't imagine working the night life. i spent a lot of time in it and even as a weekly spectator it got pretty old and quite seedy. you would think partying all the time is fun but then you see some of the same people, shady characters, same playlist routines from the djs, the girls are different but act the same, the dirty floors, the almost-fights, the guys trying to posture, and of course the trashy day after where your gym session is half ass. if i started working in it i might have gotten stuck in it.
based boomer virus I worked three summers in Croatia doing nightlife. Certainly a great way to meet hot girls but you get burnt out
Thank you for making this video. I’m 23 and am working at a job I just don’t like and feel like I could be doing more. You and I have pretty much the same aspirations as well, I love the gym and want to start my own business/ workout clothing brand. just would never take the risk. Watching this made me realize I just need to stop thinking so much and just do. Keep up the good work mike you potentially just changed someone’s life🙏

Mike isn't given enough credit for how funny he is. His story about his grandma wanting to read the book had me in tears
"A group of middle aged women". they were probably about 35 years old! When you're 21, everyone above that age is pushing on!
20 year olds know nothing
35 is middle age
@@haafayn6075 Yes, if you only live as far as 70. Middle Age is subjective. My Uncle is in his late 60's and still thinks he's middle aged!
Thanks for that. I'm 55 now and Ive never been in shape like you. I got close back in my late 20s, 88kg leanish. But now 80kgs and a bit fat and I few injuries holding me back. I like it when people like you that tell people about your past and how it wasn't all sun shine and rainbows.
One of the reasons i follow your channel is because your advices have been an inspiration for me and for a lot others as well i believe. I would agree on 100 percent that taking risks is a must otherwise we end up staying on the same level. Keep up the good work big man.
I am a 62 year old woman who is very curious, so I had to watch your video, and then I had to tell you that I enjoyed your story tremendously for several reasons, but I will mention 2 of them. One of the reasons is about the way you express the humbleness you genuinely carry in your heart, another is the way your story shows how you listen to your heart…. If one day my husband and I visit Dubai, I hope to sit down in a cafe with you and share each other’s memories! I am sure we will meet as if we were old friends! I believe your parents are very proud of you! You rock! - Shirlene
Always interesting to see the life of someone who's completely different from me! Sounds like you've lived in cities your whole life and you never did have enjoyable addictions such as videogames which led you to always aim higher and travel rather than being content with a reliable job which allows you to have little joys such as videogames at the end of the day.
