    Here’s a couple of more reasons to own a Trike. You don’t have to put your feet down when the Trike comes to a complete stop. Also, the Trike has a reverse making it convenient to back up. I think the following reason is probably the most important “visibility.” The Trike takes up large real estate on the road making it more visible to others. Visibility is paramount for your safety when riding on the road.

    I bought ours in 2020 I first test drove one in Daytona . Bike week 2014 . I loved them from the start . Finally made the complete switch to 3 last month . These trikes are way safer than 2 and with the drivers of cars being what they are today that’s huge

    I find the Tri Glide has advantages and disadvantages. I got a trike to tow a trailer it certainly does and excellent job doing that. Have spent $$ setting it up to suit myself and comfort while travelling the long Hauls. Will work on lighting the rear up, not very good lighting at nighttime.

    I'm seventy years old and have been riding since 1964. We are on our second Tri-Glide but we ride a trike because we have to.
    My wife has battled cancer eight times since 2010. She's had twelve surgeries in a ten year period, maxed out on Chemotherpay, radiation and Cyber knife treatments. She is currently on Immunotherapy and will be every twenty eight days for the rest of her life.
    The radiation she had in 2011 ruined the blood flow to her hips so she had to have a total hip replacement about three years ago. Then one of the places of cancer in her brain started growing causing her to have seizures. That's when we went to a trike. Our thoughts were if she had a seizure on out Heritage it might cause an accident injuring both of us and possibly others. On a trike we feel I should be able to pull over and tend to her needs.
    I did make a few modifications due to my age and health conditions. I have arthritis in my hands and turing the trike made my hands hurt so bad that I couldn't sleep at night. So I changes the handle grips to foam grips which helps. I also suffer from gout and my 2021 Tri-Glide didn't have a heel shifter, so I installed one. For my wife, who always rides with me I installed progressive shocks on the rear in order to improve the ride quality. They helped a little, but it still rides like a dump thuck. I run 20 psi in the rear tires and that also helps a little.
    One big improvement was when I manufactured a heat shield for the exhaust. Like I said before my wife always rides with me and the heat off the exhaust use to bake her right leg. So I took a piece of aluminum about one and half inched wide and seventeen inches long and manufactured a heat shield which covers the catalytic converter. Now the heat doesn't rise up. So her right leg is much more comfortable.
    All this being said, I would NOT own a trike if I didn't have to. As a matter of fact, I probably won't own another Harley. I've owned many motorcycyles over the years, the last four have been Harleys. I've had trouble with two out of four of my Harleys. The Tri-Glide I own now has been in the shop twice in the first ten months of ownership. To me that's not a good thing. If I could I'd buy a Kawasaki today. I think I've had my fill Harley Davidsons.

    these are just like the old 3 wheelers, the rear tires will lift in fast cornering.
    they are 8+ feet long and 3+ feet wide and 1200lbs. the direct steering without leaning takes a little while to get used to.
    the stock rear shocks suck!
    shorter people will need good chaps because the exhaust heat will burn your legs, my wife is 5'2 and burns her legs on her 2020.cool fan under her seat and looking at the ultra cool system next as a add on. i suggest the warranty with tire protection and screaming eagle package(if you like a performance upgrades covered by factory warranty)
    just a knucklehead passing on somethings I've learned while riding tri glides
    mine is a 2017 107 stage 1 going to a 119 stage 4 and my wife is on a 2020 114 stage 1( upgrade from her 2016)
    stay safe and please keep the shiny side up.

    We had a 2014 HD Tri-Glide Ultra Classic, but after about five years tried of the stiff clutch feathering in stop and go traffic. The excessive heat from the engine and the noise going up hill in third gear. We now have a Can-Am Spyder RT Limited and the above problems are gone, with the paddle shifter, no clutch lever and it automatically down shifts for you, when coming to a stop. The Spyder also in my experience blows the HD Trike out of the water in the smoothness of ride quality, and that is with the stock suspension! Safe Travels.

    • @TriGliderHD
      @TriGliderHD  Před měsícem +1

      I actually installed the adjustable OEM Inner Fairing Air duct (29200003) from previous model years, so I’m guessing that may have helped me - in my opinion - with that issue. The part actually fit perfectly and it was pretty easy to install. I did so before I started the POV videos, so maybe I will have to start sharing my install experiences as well!
