Instructional video on fresh-roasting small batches of coffee with the Nuvo Eco hand-held ceramic roaster. Superior freshness and more predictable flavor (once you get the hang of it)
Thank you for the positive feedback! If you get one, note that each coffee roasts a bit differently. The times that I reported in the video are a guideline. E.g., a peaberry type coffee with a smaller, more dense bean takes a bit longer to roast than a larger bean (like many of the Colombian beans).
Atlas Overland just got it and already two batches in. Super simple and straightforward. I haven’t roasted for years and after watching your video once I’m back in the game. Thanks again.
Jennifer Alethia after preheating the roaster, each batch takes about 8-10 min. on the stovetop depending on how dark you like your roast. Blowing the chaff and cooling the beans takes another 3-5 min.
cookies coffee depends on how often you shake the beans. Probably not as even as an electric roaster. I personally like variation with some beans medium roast and some dark.
Hey man, have you tried blowing in the handle to get the chaff out? I read that's the correct method. My roasters in the mail still so I haven't tried it yet.
Good question! I think the chaff would go everywhere using that method -- but let me know how it works! After dumping the coffee into my colander, I have blown excess chaff in the roaster out the handle through the top. However, the bulk of the chaff gets blown out of the colander and onto a damp towel in the sink. In addition to removing the chaff, blowing on the coffee cools it down more quickly. I've found this method makes for the easiest cleanup, esp. when I'm doing 3-6 nano-batches at a time.
I can not get it to roast darker than a blond roast. I’m using peaberry beans which are smaller could that be the reading for roasting so light ? I’m using the same eco roaster .
I have the is one its super for small patch..now i bought the well bar i make 250 easch patch🙃🙃the ceramick now help me to make my own origin beans profiles to find out more profiles coffee reseapts😍😍
❤
The image of the coffee beans bag label is not shown enough. Who sells it? Supplier? What company it come from?
Great video. Thanks

Thanks so much for making this. Was wondering, how long did your roast take you in all?

Jennifer Alethia I’d plan on 40 min to roast a week’s worth of coffee. But I drink a lot of coffee. 😀
Useful but lose the music, far too raucous and adds nothing. Not all stoves are the same so beware 'high heat'.
How do think about the result of roast beans in terms of color uniformity?

@@madeinjapanoverland1843 I blow in the main Chamber and let the chaffs fly out of the handle direct in the garbage

Reason instead of reading ..
@@byronbaylove4125 Not hot enough. Using a hand roaster takes more learning than an electric one - but far cheaper to buy.
should i invest in this or manual roaster but with the spinning thing?
asdfghjkl bcd spinning thing might work better. You just need to make sure it rolls the beans and doesn’t just push them along.

Which is better Hi or NUVO Handy Roaster
I've only tried the NUVO roaster. I found it to be very effective.
