hospital food worker here: that post about the patient getting oranges with a clearly marked citrus allergy enrages me to no end. you can absolutely get fired for that where i work. first thing we do when we build a tray is check for allergies. also, our specific system would even let you submit that ticket without a warning because it checks for allergies in items. with ours, you'd get a notification that says that it "doesn't work with the dietary requirements" and you'd need a nurses initials to send it through. maybe that hospital needs new technology because that should never be allowed to happen!!!!!!!

That hospital one, is actually a pretty easy mistake to make depending on how the ward does it's meal rounds. I am a student nurse and last year I accidentally gave someone who is allergic to ginger a spoonful of ginger cake when on placement, thankfully she was alright and there was no harm done but I will never not feel guilty about giving her that even if she told me herself that she was fine.
Yeah don't feed people things without checking the allergy first.

Lexi, to put the strings back in hoodies or whatever is similar, get a large safety pin - narrow enough to get into the gap but quite strong. Put the lace on the pin, close it, and start pushing it through. You can keep pushing the fabric over the pin until it's gathered up till it's nearly covered, catch hold of the front end of the pin and pull the garment back off it. Keep going until it comes out the other end.
Also to prevent this from happening in the first place, tie a thick enough knot in the lace to stop it being able to end up inside the garment.

As someone who uses GIMP all the time, I relate to the thumbnail a lot. The trick to knowing which ones are real is if the background is white when you highlight it, but becomes transparent when you click it then it's real. But if it looks transparent as soon as you highlight it, it's almost certainly fake.

So, I know this will get buried, BUT! I have a solution for the thing at 6:41. What you do is you either get a Bobby pin, or safety pin, or something like that. Then use it like you are threading a needle, and push it through the hole of your hoodie. Then push the pin as far through as you can, scrunching up the fabric. Then grab the end of the pin, and un scrunch the are behind it. Then Repeat, Until you get the the other side. I hope this helps someone.

Holy crap that hospital one made me so angry, I would’ve gone full on KAREN MODE at them. I’m not very lenient with hospitals, if they give me crap service I will make it very clear. Once I was told to wait a little while longer repeatedly for 6 hours at a hospital and they only got back to me when I packed up my stuff and started walking out the door.

Really frustrates me when teachers do this.
I've experienced something like this before and I RESENTED my teacher for it. Their logic is that: drawing = not focusing, when usually drawing actually helps me focus.
I remember my teacher pulling me aside in class and telling me to stop drawing on my papers, of course I didn't listen, but it was really discouraging and made me feel like my art wasn't good enough and not worth making even if it brought me happiness. I'm so glad I didn't listen to her though because when I got to middle school I learned that my teachers actually LIKED seeing my drawings. One teacher would actually pay me in our schools currency for drawing and keeping him entertained while grading. I'm glad I didn't listen, I've improved so much since I was in her class and I couldn't have done that without doing exactly what she told me not to.
Regarding the "Close Door Button" in most elevators, it's disabled because the button actually violates the "Americans With Disabilities Act" passed in 1990 requires all elevators must remain open for at least 3 seconds before closing to allow enough time for someone with a wheelchair enough time to enter without the door closing on them. The button however can be overridden and used by any fireman with a key to bypass the lockout, though it'd probably take longer to get and use the key than to wait for the elevator door to shut.
I mean, if the elevator stays open for longer than 3 seconds already they can just make the button smart and have a counter or a mechanism to make it stay open. Though I'm sure that'd cost more money than a fake button so probably not happening.
I don't get this. It's literally one simple line of code to make sure the button only works after the door's been open for three seconds already. Any intern can do it!

The cute doodle rat being marked out infuriates me. I was someone who would doodle/write notes all over my tests and assignments, especially if it was for a class with a teacher I liked. One of my favorite doodles was the grim reaper from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy on some geography homework. I genuinely would've been heartbroken if my doodle was crossed out, let alone gotten a point taken off for drawing it in the first place. 6:42 Okay, so the way you prevent it is by safety pinning or tying the string ends together _before_ putting it in the dryer.
The way to fix it _after_ it happens is to take a safety pin (for ease of use the largest/longest one that will fit inside the hoodie's string hole), attach the pin to _one_ end of the string, and then put the safety pin inside the hole. Tip for putting the string back into a hoodie: take some wire (preferably some softer wire, like floral wire), and make it like a sewing needle; the drawstring kept in the wire by the knot, then twist the wire to make it like a long sewing needle. Then shove the wire into the needle, and begin shoving the wire through the drawstring vein, til the wire comes out the other hole.
And triple knot your drawstrings, helps ensure it doesn’t come out.
