    At 9:08 I stated that If China took over Kwangtung while India's capital had been captured by the Axis, then the Japanese factory would be destroyed in Kwangtung. This is not correct. The factory would remain but China would not get to use it. The rule for destroying factories only applies to Originally Controlled Chinese Territories.

    China is one of the most interesting powers. Since it can build units anywhere, even territories it just captured, it makes them very slippery and hard for Japan to really get under control. Even one territory remaining can cause Japan grief.

    I'm a first time player, I have been invited to play a game with young grasshopper and his friends (i'll be playing Russia / China) so I watched your video's on Russia and China ..... just wanted to say thank you, at least I have some sort of starting point as far as strategy.....cheers

    Where did you get your game board with neutrals even having their own roundels? I would like to print one myself and one last question, do you know if anyone ever made a board where they made the Japanese controlled Chinese territories just as Chinese colors? I always force any Japanese players to go ahead and mark them from turn 1 because of the confusion they bring in.

    Great video! The game we played here in the Netherlands this weekend we used some of the rules you explained! The Chinese army fled to Birma and escaped my Japanese attack. I didn't know the rule, but we looked it up! Thanks for all your video's of the tournament and your strategy video's afterward!

    • @BraydenLondon88
      @BraydenLondon88 Před 5 lety

      @Robin Streng oh that's a little disappointing I thought it would have been a mini power like China but would have British or no troops or have unique special rules about combat or something as far as I know they can also be used for Japan to declare war

    Is this a custom map? My version has the UK roundel not the Union Jack and naval and air bases aren't printed into my map.

  • @Seriona1
    @Seriona1 Před 6 lety +1

    GHG, is there an actual rule in the book that says the Flying Tigers can legally land in UK territories while UK is at peace with Japan? I thought the rule made it clear that allies cannot enter neutral nations at war with their own enemy.

    • @nathangayner7592
      @nathangayner7592 Před 4 lety +2

      UK isn't a neutral nation. That's probably why it's allowed. They aren't at war with Japan, but they are at war with Germany and Italy.

    Hey GHG. Have a question.. at 10:22 you say that if Japan has Calcutta, and Hong Kong, and China comes in to liberate Hong Kong, The Chinese roundel is placed. Would China get the 3 ipc value of the territory too?
    Placing new units, can China then place new units in Burma and Hong Kong? Just verifying. J

    • @primroselane1
      @primroselane1  Před 6 lety

      Yes that's correct Jon. After that, if Calcutta is liberated then the roundels come off and the UK regains control of those territories.

    Thx GHG for making that much high quality video's, only a few days after the tournament! I bet it was inspiring to make them. Since I recently purchased t the Pacific side of the game, I may actually make some video's myself. Guess a tripod will be a must then 😉

    • @primroselane1
      @primroselane1  Před 6 lety +1

      You're welcome Barry. You don't have to have a tripod but it helps a lot so you can have both hands free to demonstrate what you are talking about. I might be the only A&A CZcamsr that uses one.

    • @fenring0
      @fenring0 Před 6 lety

      Really? The only one? GH must have steady hands I guess as well as SB. But when I'm gonna do it I will use a tripod. Any tips for A&A using a tripod? Do you mark the spot for the tripod with a sticker f.e.?

    • @primroselane1
      @primroselane1  Před 6 lety

      I'm talking about a small tripod that sits on top of the table and holds my phone. There's no magic formula to using it, you can see on your phone the video that you're making in real time. If you check out this video I give tips and show my camera and tripod on the screen;

    I don't read in the rules anywhere that you can't place a minor complex on a ipc value of under 2, is this true? I can't build a industrial complex, unless it's a 2 or higher?

    • @primroselane1
      @primroselane1  Před 6 lety +2

    Current game sees a common issue I find with the Japanese player massively attacking SE Asia on J2. So I counter attacked both north and south and now outnumber the Japanese army in China not including Manchuria and Burma.
    It won't last long if Calcutta falls on J3 though...

  • @shirleyallan3246

    Hello general ! Ive watched your china video and it zez in the rule book that china forces cannot be combined with any allied force ?. Can an allied player blitz thru a chinese occipied territory to attack an axis player ?. Thx for your videos

    • @primroselane1
      @primroselane1  Před 6 lety +1

      Japan considers any movement into China by the Allies as an act of war. As long as you are at war with Japan then you can enter into Chinese territory and attack the Axis. You will be attacking them by yourself though just as you would anywhere on the board. There are no combined attacks in this game. If the Axis attacks a territory with China and another Allied nation's units, then you would defend together as a combined force. (Attack alone, Defend together)

  • @Tchenao
    @Tchenao Před 3 lety

    I am confused about placing minor industrial complexes. As long as the territory has an IPC value of two or more, you can build a minor industrial complex. But someone mentioned that no factories can be built in Islands? So, can I place a minor industrial complex in the Philippines or not?

  • @elwoodbirgden342
    @elwoodbirgden342 Před 6 lety +3

    The civil war in china was concluded in 1937, when chang kai sheck was kidnapped and held until he agreed on peace with the communists. The civil war only broke out again in 1945, personally i think its just to make the game fair.

  • @puppetguy8726
    @puppetguy8726 Před 5 lety

    I don't know if it's been officially revisioned, but according to the rule book Japan can not build a large industrial complex on the island of Japan as it is an island.

    • @primroselane1
      @primroselane1  Před 5 lety

      Puppet Guy The exceptions to that rule are Japan and the UK because they are the capitals of those powers. Also Australia is an exception although you can only build a minor due to the values of the territories. Other than those you can’t build factories on any islands.

    • @puppetguy8726
      @puppetguy8726 Před 5 lety

      @@primroselane1 First, Australia is a continent, second, islands are clearly defined in the rules and Britain, Australia and New guinea are for game purposes not islands since they have multiple territories. Nowhere in the rulebook does it stand that Japan is excepted from the rule about islands. But I do not believe that is WAD so I wouldn't deny a Japanese player that has liberated Japan to upgrade to a major complex. :)

    • @nathangayner7592

      Puppet Guy Australia itself cannot be a continent, otherwise New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa and Papua New Guinea would have no continent.

    • @puppetguy8726
      @puppetguy8726 Před 4 lety

      @@billcipher779 Hey dude, you can google stuff. "The most restricted meaning of continent is that of a continuous[6] area of land or mainland, with the coastline and any land boundaries forming the edge of the continent. In this sense the term continental Europe (sometimes referred to in Britain as "the Continent") is used to refer to mainland Europe, excluding islands such as Great Britain, Ireland, Maltaand Iceland, and the term continent of Australia may refer to the mainland of Australia, excluding Tasmania and New Guinea. Similarly, the continental United States refers to the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia in central North America and may include Alaska in the northwest of the continent (the two being separated by Canada), while excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam in the oceans."

      @Seriona1 Před 6 lety

      China is completely restricted to their theater of war during WWII which is bullshit in my opinion as China can never be a complete threat to the Axis but I guess that's the trade off of having 6 vs 3.
