Since 2014, the vote casting priorities are positively changed in India, maximum people are giving priority to the development rather than cast and religion. Imam,you are right. Sambalpuri textile is from Odisha and the dance form has been shown in tableau is also Sambalpuri.The dancers have wore sambalpuri sarees.
State govts send their respective themes for the tableau in Parade, out of which some r selected.

Punjab, Sikkim, Goa, Uttarakhand, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka and many other states tableau were rejected as they did not depicted the theme of "Women Empowerment". there are 28 states and less than 20 were shown. These tableaus are created by each states and presented to the republic day organizing committee which then accept or rejects based on the theme and other aspects.

And to let you know, The tableau of Odisha won the first prize . The intricately drawn elephant is an example of Pattachitra, and the fabric you were talking about is indeed Sambalpuri, which the dancers were wearing
