I once sharpened and polished the edge on a pencil sharpener. I never knew pencil tips could be cut so clean. I don't know what happened to that thing :(

Graphite pencils sharpening the blades or keeping them sharp is a known myth, however because it's still a material that the blade edges cut and then their is always the wood and glue part too,you still dull the edges!. I touch the edge bevels of those razors, on ceramic stones or Naniwa fine stones and it becomes sharper than whem new! You just must be carefull not over do it,because removing much steel, may lead to changing the depth of how it cuts, which is something you don't want to change. I can go upt to 5 times re-touching the razors and even more than that, on super fine stones. I like 7000 grit and higher, to avoid removing steel and that also keeps them crazy sharp (sharper than a scalpel, because I sharpen those too, using them as utility cutters, cutting paper etc) KUM Masterpiece and Kum Automatic longpoint, are a "must" have for any artist who uses any kind of wooden pencils. I prefer them to electric ones!
