I love that the prices come down on these. Actually in my price range to pick up a couple boxes now.
Not too hard to profit on current box prices. We saw almost $200 a box not too long ago, they wont print forever. We could see boxes get stupid in a few years.

Everyone needs to remember that Evolutions was mass over printed and stayed on shelves for years. Now it's $20-$30 a pack ... Think long term! Don't get caught in the short term noise.
Evolutions is the best comparison to Japanese 151 but 151 is such a better set with more valuable chase cards so in the long run its gonna be something indeed.

@@KevinP-p7x evolutions had its last reprint in 2019, 3 years and some months after it’s release. They reprinted right at the beginning of the boom
Nowhere around me has 151, let alone Japanese 151, so I haven’t opened any, and I refuse to pay for the insane shipping costs.
Just found a sealed copy from ebay. Free shipping and 75 usd lol but I'm canadian so it came to 106 canadian dollars

No doubt when it’s out of print it will be back at $250 a box eventually
not a year they just reprinted might even get a English one too with prices exploding in the English cards lately. But I give it 2-3 years for sure. Will it be scarVs eskies? Probably not with the rocket set, eevee set, and eventually new Megas in legends ZA. But lots to look forward too.
@@andrewmahabir589 in a year 151 will be over $150 easy in 2-3 it will be over $300 when they stop printing and maybe this could be the last print who knows the price will steadily go up . And you can have more than one good set in a generation that explodes .

Crown Zenith would be a good one to try and see if you can open for profit while packs are relatively low still
Stocking up on these by the dozen. Best deal in pokemon history. This set & english version will be some of the best long term investments you could ever make.
I’ve only opened 2 boxes of 151 and got lucky and pulled the Mewtwo masterball out of the second box.

That is a victory! You opened an error box. It is rare to have an SR and SAR in the same box. Most of the time there is only an SR or SAR. Nice pulls!
I got super lucky 8 boxes. Pikachu on first and Gengar in the 5th - masterball cards of course. Gengar art work is my favorite. Thought it was amazing since I saw the English holo!
I paid 139 before the reprint for two boxes. I thought I was brilliant. Now I'm not so sure. Lol

Would love to see more Scarlet n Violet japanese openings. They’re dirt cheap and the early sets (clay burst, snow hazard, triple beat “Paldea evolved” sets) have the best art work in my opinion. Full of cool illustration rares.
The boxes are like 40-55$ each and would be a nice change.

The thing is Pokemon said they were going to print this set to the ground before it even came out. People paying $100+ for a $40 booster box because of FOMO is crazy. I still think this set will rebound and those Master Balls/Poke Balls will make it attractive to future collectors.

Opening up the equivalent amount of packs of English 151 would be an interesting idea to see if it would do better or worse.
it's getting dangerously close to Japanese retail which is $37ish. Fun to open with the guaranteed hits, but will cause anxiety to those holding for price to recover, will be a few years I bet.
I think paradox rift would be the easiest set to make your money back. The AR's in that set is going insane.
Honestly, the alternate art is so much better than the master balls. I would love to see some wins with silver Tempus

Crown zenith’s gallery has the gold cards and the mewtwo as HEAVY hitters, on top of that all the art rares look amazing, plus it has above average pull rates so it over all a good set to aim for profitability from.

Ripping packs is almost never profitable, but usually fun. I don't know, try Crown Zenith, that has decent pulls.
Not the Drowzee 😂 I'm patiently waiting for the prices to tank so I can stock up. They'll go through the roof again eventually. For now I need to fill my binder!
You can find excellent deals on Japanese boxes all over right now because the Japanese Yen is so weak against the dollar right now.

I paid $200 for a box when they cirst came out, then i bought 2 boxes for $100 at my lgs, now i just bought 3 for $50 each.. this long term should do real well
I think people forgot about Evolutions. Mass printed of the original 151 and it mooned. As long as people enjoy ripping it and the printers stop. It will increase.

Yeah, I think it’s definitely a good investment to get them while they’re loading now and hang onto them for a bit can but I definitely see them going back up in price once they stop printing it
Y'all should definitely try Obsidian Flames. Super hard to get some profit out of it in the Scarlet Violet era of cards.

I think it’s wild that it’s considered bad for the market when it reaches actual MSRP. The mark up for shipping it over here is just falling off.
You should try and do this with Paldea Evolved, see how for profit that turns if you can get the Magicarp maybe?

The idea of 151 was great. But print lines ruins it. too many holo ball characters. If they had masterballs for like 10 characters it would have been good.

I think you should try to be profitable in twilight, with two SIRs at over $100, 2 SIRs $50+ and some decently priced IR the chances are there
