  • One of the lesser known Steven Spielberg directed movies out there was a 1980 film titled Used Cars. Kurt Russell portrays a used car salesman going to absolute extremes just to save his little crappy dilapidated used car lot. Even though most cars in this movie are pretty much junkers, you will be able to recognize a ton of classic rides in this movie that were considered cheap unwanted junk back then, but now would be highly sought after high dollar vintage collectibles. Just a few examples of some of these rides would be a 1957 Chevrolet Two-Ten, a 1965 Ford Mustang, a 1970 Dodge Challenger, a 1973 Ford Gran Torino and a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda!
    Enjoy the old auto fiasco!

One of the great moments of American cinema.

if I can pick three cars from there it would be the 1965 Mustang with the fat N50-15s sticking out the back, The red 1970 Challenger with the 14x8 Road Hugger J60-14 tires and the 1969 Black Mercury Cougar with what looks like BFG's all around and side pipes

Misses the best stunt in the movie, in which Jeff [actor Gerrit Graham] brakes to a halt on the shoulder and jumps out of the car because he has discovered that it is a RED CAR, about which he is extremely superstitious. He then walks backward heedlessly across the highway, and is very narrowly missed by a passing car doing 60 or so. This was done all in one take, not using a stunt double, and no CGI fakery. Graham did not flinch or skip a beat in his lines while doing this incredibly dangerous stunt.

It’s funny how the Cadillacs exhaust pipe falls out and when one of the cars don’t even have a gas pedal

Would love to; but it is currently still just on cruddy old VHS format unfortunately, but I certainly will if it ever comes out on Blu-ray.
