#WarioWare #wariowaregold #wario - Hry
Charles always adds an extra kick to his performance as Wario. The new voice is actually a lot better than I expected in terms of trying to emulate Charles, but it’s still missing the “it” factor which will hopefully pop up as the new voice actor gets more comfortable with his role.
That was a joke about Charles retirement
I don’t hate the new voice. I definitely like Charles’ take better but like I could get used to it. I think some of the lines they picked for trailers were some of the worse ones.
Yeah I wasn’t high on the new voice either when I heard it in the reveal trailer, but it sounds a lot better here. It’s a much more noticeable difference than the new Mario and Luigi voices, but it’s starting to grow on me
@@SuperbitGamer-db6iw Yes, we know. You've only said it 2 dozen times by now.
@@SaltyToad00 I'm sorry.
It’s just serviceable. It sounds like there’s something in his throat. It’s just very ok
I think it's got to be Kevin Afghani who is the new voice of Wario in the WarioWare Move It! game coming out this week.
Also not all voice changes are cause a VA is "better" or "worse" but the new direction Nintendo may want them to go in. I doubt they just want a perfect recreation of Martinet.
So news fooled us that Charles didn’t retire so still voice acting in Mario Wonder and Wario move it
Doubt it. Mario’s voice is iconic on the level of characters like Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny. His voice is part of the character’s identity. There’s a reason why Disney and WB put so much effort into making sure they cast people who can continue to do passable impressions of their characters iconic voices. It’s obvious that Nintendo was taking that same approach with Mario Wonder.
Why would they take a new direction for Wario and not Mario or Luigi? It’s pretty obvious they just want imitations
@@RotoMinerThey had Chris Pratt voice him in the movie
@@auroraSLAPThat's a lot more having to do with A-list big names for marketability.
The new Mario voice still has it's cheery feel but Wario's voice is just not the same.
Charles made Wario sound a lot more goofy and made the character a lot more memorable.
MUST RAGE NAP!
Given how similar all four characters sound, I do wonder if Kevin Afghani is also doing the new Wario/Waluigi voice.
I think it’s pretty good. Obviously it isn’t 100%, but I’ve already grown to live Kevin’s take on Mario and Luigi, so I hope whoever this Wario voice actor is goes the same way.
It’s true. Kevin was confirmed to be Wario, which gets me thinking he’ll also be Waluigi
Personally, I find it distracting. It's like Matt Vogel's Kermit... even if I respect Matt's puppeteering. (I don't understand why Nintendo promotes their voice actors).
@@supersleepygrumpybear They don't. But Charles is the voice of their mascot and the most famous video game character of all time he's going to be out and about doing promotional stuff.
Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Daisy, and Wario all have new voices. I wonder how Waluigi will sound like.
Maybe Kazumi Totaka is still voicing Yoshi with new voice clips and he's just uncredited.
Yoshi is STILL VOICED BY KAZUMI TOTAKA. He isn’t credited though. And it still sounds like Yoshi too. The only reason people think he’s replaced is because he isn’t credited. Just listen to the clips themselves online and you’ll here it’s still him. even Gamexplain did a comparison video between all the new and old voice clips and had Yoshi, then in the Mario Wonder review, they even said they don’t know if it’s still Kazumi Totaka
@@zackwessling7102 yeah exactly
Waluigi will be fine Kevin Afghani got Luigi down pat so Waluigi is nothing.
@@SuperMarioFan337 Maybe Kevin Afghani might voice Wario in this game.
The new voice sounds a little more covered and gruff compared to Charles, but it still sounds phenomenally close! It's different for sure but I don't dislike it at all! There's some very competent Charles soundalikes at Nintendo right now~
in my opinion he can improve but isn't bad
does not sound close at all
Not really, Mario sounds somewhat close, Luigi sounds remarkably close, but Wario sounds terrible
I know the man himself embodies Mario, but this makes me realize how much better Charles is at being Wario than Mario. I mean his voice really carries the character. Not that Kevin is doing a bad job, the new voice is perfectly fine and I'm not even trying to compare. I just think it goes to show how good of a VA Charles was to create these characters out of himself.
The new one sounds more like the German Wario from the pre GameCube era. Wario was always German but Charles made him Italian so I think it’s mostly an improvement.
Charles Wario will always be iconic tho
Ima Wario I’m a gonna win
Honestly, I feel as though people don't like the voice because it's different. Yes, Charles' Wario is fantastic and always will be, but I do think this new portrayal of Wario is also great.
Along with Mario Wonder, the new voices do sound a little weird at first because I'm just so used to Charles' take, but I think I'll be able to get used to them. I just need to hear the new voices in some more games.
you're right luckily I can consider this change like an alarm clock when I will retire (after the Switch I will stop)
Charles Martinet just has a certain quality with his Wario that this new voice doesn't capture. I'm not surprised, it just doesn't have the same impact.
His new voice is a tad higher pitched than I'd prefer, but I still like it
I’m pretty sure that mostly has to with the fact that the new guy voicing Wario is clearly much younger than Charles. If you listen to Charles’ early voice clips of Wario during the N64 when Charles was younger, his Wario voice sounded much higher pitched back then.
@@Rediscool9 a lot of games starting on the gamecube started using pitched down voice clips for some reason, the voice was actually always the same
1:00 Kevin Afghani killed it with the laugh!
Wario's new voice is decent but it's gonna take time for me to get used to it
Don't mind the other Mario recasts, but this one sounds pretty rough to me honestly. Hope it grows on me with time!
To be honest, the new voice for Wario has a slightly stronger vocal range compared to Martinet, even though both actors are still good at making Wario act wily as always. 😂
i miss you charles :(
Wow, I didn't know Kevin can perfectly mimic Wario's voice! I am impressed!
Just like Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse, usually any voices that aren’t from the first VA are going to be off, simply because they aren’t the first one. I think Kevin sounds fantastic as Wario!
Kevins performance is really grea overall, but it seems like he isnt pushing the italian accent as far. Its not so bad for mario and luigi, but wario feels like hes missing something without the rolled Rs and the extra vowel sounds.
Apparently Wario was German before, if that's even true
I like it the new voice fits
Wow, the new voice actor is actually pretty good! I expected something waaay worse.
I like how aggressive the new voice sounds
Same here. I actually prefer it. Wario used to be more menacing and aggressive character in the early games, I didn't actually like how goofy he became
I think the new voice sounds more like it’s own thing. Some of the old Wario takes sounded a little more like Mario with a deeper voice vs some new inflections now.
@@Max-nz7opprefer the new voice = L take.
I like this new Voice, it sounds more Grumpy
Both voices are good in their own ways, they both sound good
Maybe at the end credits they will reveal the name of the new voice actor of wario.
It's funny: since the last role I heard Martinet in was Magenta from the new Dragon Ball movie, I'm now hearing tinges of Magenta in the clips used for this video.
I hate it when they replaced old actors with new ones
Charles is iconic and always be the superstar
Agree.
But I don't hate it.
I just want Charles back.
@@SuperbitGamer-db6iw Bro, get over it. You've been saying the exact same thing since Nintendo announced that Charles was retired.
@@SaltyToad00bruh, people are entitled to their feelings.
@@judebaun9993Didn't you literally say in a previous comment Your opinion doesn't matter When someone said the new voice is better You're such a hypocrite
@@BowserEditzbecause people are entitled to their feelings is only valid when it’s an opinion I like or agree with.
I want Charles back unless he is retiring
He’s definitely not retiring. He even said in an interview he wanted to do Mario unit he dropped dead. Plus he’s still doing voice acting in general but not Mario and the rest
Wario sounds more evil now
I noticed how they made the sound louder in the new game to hide how crappy the new voice sounds.
Let's be real here. We all knew that Martinet wasn't going to be voicing these characters forever. And I am happy as long as he himself is happy and does whatever he feels is best for himself. With that being said, the new voice actor for Wario, while he is not as good as Charles Martinet, I don't think he's as awful as a lot of detractors claim he is either. I want to give him a fair chance to win me over, and it's not like actors replacing retired actors hasn't been a thing before. I mean, you have James Bond, who's gone through SIX actors and will obviously be getting a new one due to Daniel Craig retiring the role a couple of years ago. And keep in mind that Daniel Craig was a controversial choice at first, but he eventually managed to win everyone over after seeing his performance in Casino Royale. Same thing with the Joker in the Dark Knight, Heath Ledger was a controversial choice for the character for many people at first, but after people saw his performance, he is now widely loved as the character. So, what I'm saying is, before we all judge the new voice actor for Wario, let's give him some time to get into the role and see what his performance is like when the game comes out.
Well I mean he didn't step back or retire so genuinely I don't think Charles is happy with this choice. He got promoted and he said before that even he "doesn't know what mario ambassador means". This was probably a choice by the higher ups at Nintendo since Martinet has states before he wants to voice mario until he bites the dust
@ShurikanBlade He seemed perfectly fine in the interviews I've seen him in. I think what happened is that he wanted to retire from voice acting but was still cool with working with Nintendo in other ways aside from voicing characters. Keep in mind that it is plausible that his original plans for voice acting forever may have changed over time, and perhaps he truly believes it's time for him to move on.
@@ShurikanBlade He probably said that due to NDA at the time. Since they hadn't released the video of Charles & Miyamoto talking about it.
And as the other commentor said, he did say that he wanted to voice Mario until he bites the dust, but that might have changed after a while.
@@harrisonho8934 Based on tweets by him and voice actors friends, and his time at conventions, I'd say he's clearly saddened by it. He just said he'd like to voice the character till he dies, just a couple years ago. Then Nintendo had that movie made, which had a different voice for Mario, and a different (bitchy, sassy, "feminist") design for Peach, and Nintendo went and incorporated these new changes to the next game. It's not a coincidence. Charles did not decide to not voice them anymore; Nintendo decided to recast. And he's still voice acting. He's not retired. He wanted to voice Mario in the movie, but they got someone else, and his friends tweeted out to tell people to send him some love cuz he was having a very rough time with it.
@Schwarzorn Yeah, he seems to be sad, obviously, because letting go of voicing these characters was something he really enjoyed doing, but I think he knew it was still time to let go. Honestly, his tweets don't sound anything like he's upset about getting fired, more like saddened because he knew that he would have to retire eventually but is saddened that the day actually came. I know a lot of people personally who love their jobs but know when it's time to retire. And even then, sometimes it's tough for them to let go and are somewhat saddened by it. To me, Charles sounds like that. He doesn't sound overly depressed over the fact that he's losing Mario. He's saddened, but believes he made the right choice in the end.
wario sounds older now
That last part was making me die
The new voice actor laugh?
@@sahaprocks7751the Charles martinet laugh and cough
Honestly this one's pretty great.
I wish either the Warioware series started voice acting a lot earlier or Charles stuck around longer since he did such. Great job fully voicing Wario and I wish we got a lot more of it…
A great successor.
He sounds like Charles Martinet in some voice clips from Wario World on the Gamecube! I like it!
With Wario World being my favorite game I cannot disagree any harder
In Mexico the voice of Wario is a Voice Actor local since Wario Ware Gold and they are using it for this new game.
Wowie zowie
We Gotta Reveal 3 Hints For Revealing The New Voice Of Wario!
Do you think Kevin afghani is voicing wario? Cuz he also voiced Mario as Luigi in super mario bros wonder
It's the Kevin guy who's voicing Wario. The same one who voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros Wonder.
the voice actor gives me early wario world vibes. and I do love that version of wario.
We need to hear Waluigi new voice
😥 So sad 💔
Do you think the new voice is Kevin Afghani? Having him succeed Charles as Wario in addition to Mario and Luigi would be cool.
I don't think so. In Wonder, he already voices Mario, Luigi, and the annoying flower, and all three voices blend together as it is, and change constantly from voice line to voice line, blurring the line between the three even more. This is substantially different sounding.
@@Schwarzorn Mick Wingert voices the flowers.
@@MaxAndrew Weird. Cuz it's constantly blending in with Mario and Luigi. And like, one like will be a high-pitched voice, and then an other will be deep. Same with Mario and Luigi. It's all over the place. And you can't tell if it's Mario, Luigi, or the flower sometimes.
Definitely sounds like it could be Kevin which is good imo. Keeps the uniformity we had before and will give Kevin the chance to refine these voices
Sounds like wario got older
Is it Kevin A. Like Mario and Luigi?
Wario sounds more younger, and that's the only difference i noticed, which is very surprising, now i do wonder how he'll do waluigi
It's fine
I like both if it sound close to the previous voice it is fine to me.
Pretty good.
Omg I love new Wario, he really killed it. I was so worried but he absolutely aced it and even brought back Wario's tough edge
Kevin needs a little bit of Polish and think he can be good to go. His Luigi is gold though I like it a lot
Is it strange that I genuinely can't hear a difference?
I wonder what Waluigi sounds like?
i am happy that the new voice is good
It's hard to compare the two warios because Charles rarely talked in full sentences as wario like this guy is doing. It sounds better than I would expect at least.
They're both fine.
I don't know that dialog was ever the highlight but Charles Martinet's voice was always on point.
These replacements are both perfectly palatable and I think Nintendo did the perfect choice for both.
Hopefully, it's Kevin Afghani.
To be honest, the only games I remember Wario’s voice being in are Mario Kart and Party, and he had the LOOOW voice in Party, DOH’ I MISSED
I can already tell Warioware: Move it will be leaps and bounds better than the last one that used such a cumbersome and frustrating gimmick.
It’ll take some time for me to get use to not bad but it’ll take some time
I mean Charles always have the charm for Mario Luigi Wario and Waluigi but nothing can't last forever so I guess we just have to get used to the new voice maybe they can do a good job in the future and improve
The voice for all the characters are often indistinguishable. But my concern is for the longer phrases, they always sound much more jarring when it's more than just one word or grunt. And I'm worried we'll be seeing even less talking from the characters.
I like it, he def used Warioworld as a blueprint
I think it is extremely close to Charles. Honestly, the only Real difference is when wario is yelling. If he is laughing or talking normally you barely notice a difference
Nah you can hear the difference when he does all those things. It’s an ok voice
New Wario isn't the worst but it's not as good as the old one.
It's Kevin Afghani
Charles brought the funny part of the character perfectly, with his voice (I freaking love his voice acting in wwg) the new voice actor definitely nails his aggression with his more mean voice
I miss Charles Martinet. Also I still think the new voice actor did a pretty neat job.
I can’t tell the difference of the new voice and Charles’ voice
But I somehow think the new voice is missing something that only Charles Martinet can do
Man, Wario sounds like Mr. Krabs. Both Charles and the new guy make him sound like Eugene "Greedy Cheapy Cheapskate" Krabs.
The best way I can describe it is that Charles martinett LOVED doing the Wario voice, if the new voice actor gets that emotional attachment to the voice he may be able to add that spice that Wario was missing in this latest game.
Apart from that the new voice is pretty accurate.
martinet wario has this kind of bendy sound to his voice that afghani wario doesn't really do, which is fine but might take some getting used to
I guess his new voice sounds alright.
The new guy's pretty good, but you can't top the OG.
I really like his new voice it sounds a little like Charles voice
0:14 Darn my dirty adult mind.
I feel like the lines that Wario always says is nailed down as the new voice actor can depend on Charles for that such as “ALRIGHT” and also his iconic laugh.
Any original lines that Charles never said as Wario though sounds off in a way that just feels strange.
Ok yeah the new voice is pretty good
At least the new voice actor sounds a bit similar to him.
it sounds the same what are people wafflin about.
I keep hearing the same thing. "It's not the same, but it's close." Like, what are people expecting? Of course it sounds different. They're not the same person. That being said, as a replacement, it sounds fine.
This new guy has absolutely NO idea how to do a “WAAHHHHHHH”
He didn’t do the waa AND he didn’t even Wa when he laughed. Cuz Charles mostly does Wahahaha.
@@sahaprocks7751”A trip with these chumps doesn’t feel like a prize, WAHHH” yes, he did do the wah
@@LleytonSPDyes he did i’m trying to say it doesn’t even sound like a wahh but a oooragh or something. I should have made it more clear
Many dont like the new voice and prefer charles but it sounds ok to me we will have to get used to it soon
I would say the new VA did a nice job replicating Charles' Wario voice.
I’m hoping that it’s Kevin Afghani voicing Wario alongside the Mario Bros. If not, the other new guy will do a good job as Wario.
The new one sounds like he's choking a bit.
You described this voice the best lmao
Sound like Brock Baker
The new voice isn't bad but it's not as good as Charles
I doesn't change that much imo
I like Charles better
Same. I think he was a Placeholder for Wario in this game until Kevin was hired
only a slight different, kinda like Luigi
It sounds more similar to martinet in sm64 ds
It's good but I'll still prefer Charles Martinet over the new voice any day.
it's not bad
I honestly think the new voice sounds better and more like how I picture wario to sound
You have a smooth brain.
@@judebaun9993 my guy you're complaining about a videogame character not having the voice you remember when you were younger and I'm the smooth brained?
@@ezekoren there’s nothing wrong with me criticize the new VA and wanting the voice that I always known instead I highly doubt that I’m the smooth brained, i am entitled to my own opinion and to not hear your L take. The old VA is objectively the true voice no debate, so be quiet and mind your own business.
