Great Video thanks! Just cooked this on my Q 1200, I'm using the smaller basket (23x19cm) Weber make and it works just as well and fits the Q1200 nicely. I didn't have any Italian sausage so I sued cooking Chorizo and I also boiled some new potatoes and added them to the basket for the last 10 mins to crisp them up, Really enjoyed it thanks!
Good stuff! Need to try with Chorizo. Sounds great!
I've had one of those grill trays for many years and sometimes I turn it upside down, place a pizza stone on top of it because the extra height gets the pizza stone up where the heat is for pizza tops. works well. I mostly did this in the charcoal kettle but it'll work in the Q220 and 3200 equivalents.
Wow that looked awesome! Thanks for the recipe, and the review.
Really great. Very happy with this basket. Thanks for watching!
I currently have the Master Touch in my cart on the Weber site, lol. Was about to pull the trigger just for that, but now I'm looking at all the stuff I can get to go with it. Thanks for this!
Right on! Most important is to get a chimney, a good pair of tongs, a grate scraper, some charcoal, a long lighter, a basting brush, and I like the Tumbleweed starters. Everything else is optional.
Awesome video! I just purchased one yesterday. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼
It's an awesome accessory. Let me know what you think!
Been using those for years, definitely a great accessory for grilling veggies
Just put out another review of this today. Please check it out. Cheers!
Had one for years. Love it
I can see why. It's a great accessory. Cheers man!
Thanks for reviewing this unit man! I’ve been looking at it for a while but it looked kinda small in the store. Seeing it on your kettle gave me some perspective on how big it really is. Good stuff!
Glad it helped. Makes grilling vegetables a snap. Cheers!
I got one last summer. Fabulous. Thanks for the idea of throwing some sausage in there. A complete meal!
I had to make it a little unhealthy for all the bbq-ers out there. Lol! Cheers Alli!
I just made and ate this. Thank you very much for a great video. I avoid peppers (all colors), but most of the recipes include peppers, so I said to myself, "Get over it and try the peppers". I used part of a yellow pepper and added carrots to your recipe along with the Italian sausage on a charcoal grill. It was delicious and I will do this one again. Quick and easy meal to make. And I didn't mind the pepper, probably grilled makes it taste better. Plus, the wife really enjoyed it (except for the red pepper flakes, and I only used a few). I'll have to make separate batches next time. Lol. Thanks again, Ron
I love this pan and can't wait to use it again. Trying to figure out a way to get a little more char. Glad the wife liked it. Cheers Lois!
@@GallaghersGrub Actually, I am Ron, I just use my wife's account. She loves it when I grill, no mess in the kitchen. Even though I do have a gas grill also, I prefer charcoal. And I added some hickory to the charcoal. I'm thinking about trying this on my 22" Blackstone griddle, I know it won't be as good, but that's what we take when camping. Keep up the wonderful videos. Ron
Loving the Seiko SKX appearances!
Of my four watches, I wear it the most. Cheers loumiin!
Weber make a smaller version which fits the Q1200 perfectly. Here in the UK we use it several times a week - it's a great way to enjoy vegetables. Incidentally - I usually throw in a smoke pouch (whiskey wood chips) which adds a bit of smokiness.
Whisky wood chips. I'll keep an eye out for those. Thanks for the tip. Cheers Alastair!
Love this basket , I use it all the time on my Weber Genesis, great for grilling Salmon in aswell .
Thanks for sharing this awesome use and review 👌👌
I will definitely be trying some salmon, as well as shellfish. Cheers!
Thanks for this review, but I'll stick to using my skillet pan for now, does a fine job .
Very good video. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Bill. Appreciate you watching.
Funny I would have thought Sweet Italian Sausage would have a Italian Accent? Thanks for setting me straight on that! Looks real good and tasty! Great video as always!
Thanks Gadget. Check out today's video for some awesome ribs. Cheers!
Looks delicious. Thanks for the content
Thank you Harry. Cheers!
Great review man! I’m definitely picking one of these up. I’ll come back and let you know the results.
Don't fill it quite as much as I did. With all the steam from the veg, it can be tough to get a good char.
Great inspiration! I have one of those for my weber kettle, but never had any idea what to do with it:( I do now ;)) Thanx man, it looks fantastic ;))
This was really good. Made it again last night on the kettle. Cheers Henning!
Same as you - had one for years but never used it. I think from now it’ll be out every week. Great City Griller video as usual - thanks.
I have the smaller one from Weber and it fits my Q1200. I made shrimps 🦐 with it and they were fantastic.
I'll be making shrimp in here very soon. Cheers Gerald!
Solid review my dude 🤙
Thanks Sebtrain. Appreciate you watching, sir!
Great that you show how to use it I’ll get one now
I just used it again the other day. It is an excellent accessory. A little less food inside makes for more char on the veggies. I think I'm going to make a follow up video in the coming weeks.
Love your channel . Got this the other day just wondering how you keep your basket so clean ?
I don't. After using this basket several more times, it became discolored. Still a great basket though, especially if you don't fill it up too much.
I bought the smaller Weber grilling basket to be able to use it on the Smokey Joe and Weber Q. I got a bigger one to use on the Weber 22 and Jumbo Joe. Love grilled vegetables.
I may need to look into the smaller grilling basket now. Lol! It never stops. Cheers PartyUpLive!
Thank you for sharing this. I just purchased my Q 1200 and was in question for the jumbo Joe and my 22" kettle.
Thanks for the video. What is your experience in terms of cleaning this accessory and do you get lingering dark marks or does the stainless cleanup like new?
Every once in a while I spray it with oven cleaner and let it sit for a while. But it doesn't ever look like new again.
What made you choose the Weber grilling basket over the grilling pan?
I'm all for getting more veg on the grill, thanks for this
Everyone needs more vegetables. That I can say with 100% conviction. Cheers Mike T!
Great Job love my Weber especially American made quality products
Weber makes great products that last, for sure. CHeers Kirby!
Nicely done!
Thanks Tom. Always appreciate hearing from you. Cheers man!
Nice review and video as always. 2 comments. The flame on that Q is way too yellow. Time to take out the tubes and clean them. The other is a question. Is this 304SS, does a magnet stick to it? Thanks Joe
I agree. Mine is nice and blue.
Good call! I bought this grill used last summer and haven't yet cleaned out the tube. Always something to do... Cheers! I'll find out about the steel, but out of town for the next week.
Got it in different sizes and just love the ease they provide with veggies grilling. Only painful aspect is the cleaning. Any advice? Thanks!
Not really. It's pretty tough to clean.
That looks great. Why did you get the q2200 when you already had a q1200 and Weber kettle? Any regrets getting the q1200?
I saw the 2200 on Facebook Marketplace for a great price and couldn't resist. Mostly wanted to compare it to the Q1200 for a video for my viewers. I like them both actually. The Q1200 is definitely more portable. No regrets.
i will get one thanks for review and you have no shiitake mushrooms there
It is the most underrated Weber accessory.
I like roasted and BBQ'd veggies and I love kabobs (but only enough to do them once) so this basket/tray is a great solution to my dilema. I already have a wire weave basket with a wire weave lid that clips on for flipping instead of stirring/shaking the food but this is beginning to look llike I should give it a try. ;-)
It was $25 and I've already used it four times. Makes for an easy dinner and a great way to get more vegetables in the diet. Cheers Sheila!
Great video! How did you clean the basket?
Hot soap and water. It doesn't stay super clean-looking though.
Because I have a Q1200 I knew it wouldn't fit but I was able to find a smaller on by another company that works great.
That's great L J. Now go eat your vegetables!!!
These are pretty much the same exact vegetables I use when grilling, lol. I like to cut the stalks off mushrooms and use the waste oil/rub from steaks in the mushrooms like a cup.
Generally do corn, asparagus, capsicum, zucchini, mushrooms, green beans turn out like asparagus as well. Eggplant also.
Sounds great! Haven't tried green beens, but I grill all those vegetables, all the time. They're all great.
Nice, is that a vortex you had under the kettle grate?
I don't own a Vortex. This was just briquette in the middle of the grate.
Look spot on mate and have to get myself one of them 🇬🇧
I think you'll like it. I was looking at it in the store and a random customer came up and said he had bought one and loved it. I have to agree. $25 well spent.
@@GallaghersGrub ordered one mate so should be here before weekend and maybe try out 🇬🇧
Looks so delicious 😋
It was! Thanks for watching as always Lefteris.
Could you get some grill marks on the veggies? I noticed the heat wasn't very high. Sorry, new to grilling, so just wondering.
It's hard to get grill marks on the veggies with this basket. Maybe without the sausage and with less veg.
You know what? I have often thought about getting one of them there baskets to up my grill game. Guess what Lumberjack is getting for Father's Day? Thanks for sharing.
Always a great idea to get more vegetables in. This basket makes it fun. Cheers!
Lmao the geese part
Damn geese!
Hey my friend,
for quite a few times I had that basket in my hands, but I didn’t buy it, because I wasn’t sure if it is the right thing to get.
Now, after your presentation I guess I will give it a try.
But I have a question, don’t you think, that the same recipe would turn out even better on the griddle? I guess a comparison would be a cool idea, what do you think?
By the way, I just bought a Q220 for extremely cheap money and the other day a Q260 (char-q)
Those char Q are so cheap here in Germany, because nobody wants them. Incredible.
As well I got a Q140 (electric) for free, just had to exchange the heating element.
Can’t wait to do a comparison among the three grilling methods
As always I enjoyed your video
Keep on grilling
Dee
I think if you have a dedicated griddle like a Blackstone, that would be better than the basket.
The griddle on the Q1200 is a too small for this many vegetables. The Q2200 griddle, maybe, but then again the basket is much easier to clean.
Ha! I just found a Q1200 at the garbage transfer station. Pretty dirty but seems to be fine. I'll have a video about that in the coming weeks.
In Denmark we have one little bascet for Weber 1200 , And it are goode for z
a single, the old dane, 79 y.
There's a smaller Weber basket here in the US too. I just haven't bought it yet. Cheers and thanks for watching in Denmark!
Can the basket fits in the Weber q1400 electric grill
I do not know. I do not own a q1400. Sorry, but thanks for watching... Cheers Niki!
So I finally got around to cooking with my basket, and all I can say is wow! So easy, so tasty, even my bbq hating girlfriend was impressed
Grilled vegetables are the keys to a ladies heart.
I didn't know you had the larger " Q", nice. I have a assortment of grilling baskets, what the hell that looks good so I'll add that to the "Harem" I do vegetable medleys often. Next time add some Cajun seasoning, not much. It makes for a nice change up and is very easy. I'm still learning how to use the IVS, damm she's a big girl. Last thing,I was at Lowe's earlier and saw a beautiful blue 22" kettle. Think I'm going to have to add that to shopping list. Hey I'm a bachelor, no one to stop my reckless need for outdoor cookers besides I think my other kettle is getting lonely. Have a great day. 👍😁🌤🍻🔥
I picked up the Q2200 at the end of last summer used off Facebook Marketplace. Got it pretty cheap. Not sure what grills/smokers I'll be adding this year. Just bought another camera for the channel and not sure I can afford another grill right now. Lol! Maybe I'll rename the show: Grills and Cameras. Cheers Victor!
@@GallaghersGrub NICE, grills and cameras lol. I understand.I actually have been thinking about getting a propane grill for weeknight grilling ( I'm mostly working 12 hour plus days during the week and don't have the time for charcoal during that time but still want to grill) Anyway that's why the big "Q" caught my attention. At least you have a wonderful lady who is around to occasionally say " yeahhh , I don't think so" Your a lucky man. Never forget that. I have to get back to bed but fyi I already did my first beer brats via Sheboygan hottub a few weeks ago. My favorite Y Tube cook from last year including the great stuff Harry Soo does. Just thought you should know. Hmmm , beer brats. 😋🌭🔥🍻
This is worth mentioning. I just today received my new " grill gun". So you know I'll be lighting some charcoal and brickets this weekend with a big smile. Might have to look for some new nests out in the gravel driveway to. 🔥🐜🔥🐜🔥
Dang,meant ant nests.
I purchased one yesterday and used it last night. I found it hard to clean or are you not supposed to?
You should definitely clean it after every use.
My husband was saying that when he uses oil it flares up and drips on the gas grill causing a fire flareup. Do you have any problem with this? Maybe we're using too much oil? I didn't think it was that much.
Probably a little less oil would stop the flare ups. I find that not filling the basket too much also helps get you a better char.
Will this grill basket fit the Weber Traveler?
I don't know. I have never tried the Traveler.
I have several of these and they definitely do not look like yours do after using. Don’t know how you keep that silver colour on them. 😞
In this video, that was the first week of cooking. A few weeks later and this thing has plenty of "patina"
Do you spray or oil the basket itself?
You can. But I don't see the need.
Are you going to do a review for the weber traveler?
Probably not. I don't own one and I don't see buying one anytime soon. I've got too many other things to buy. Lol!
Is there something similar that I could fit in Q1200?
I think there's a smaller one that can fit in the Q1200, but I haven't tried it. If I see one, I will pick it up and make a video.
Will it fit my Weber traveler?
I'm not certain. Haven't tried a Traveler yet.
How is yours so clean.
It's not anymore. That was my first week. I'll see if there's a way to get it back to the stainless steel look. Cheers Michael!
@@GallaghersGrub Hi, did you manage to find a way to clean the basket? Not a easy product to keep clean
gotta sharpen that knife my man!
Lol! I will. Cheers!
To bad it won't fit in my Q1200
Weber makes a smaller one that will fit on the Q1200 but I read that some say it was small and maybe not worth buying.
I think I would of cooked the sausage 5-10 minutes before adding the veggies
I think I'll try that. Cheers man!
@@GallaghersGrub I always hate it when the asparagus is over cooked (mushrooms too)
Was thinking that, too, Toby. Or, cook the sausage whole beside the basket, then, cut into pieces and add to veg mix (shortly before the veg's are done).
Y'all Be Safe!
Pineapple would have been good
Pineapple is always good. Cheers!
Yeah, what was the sausage calling you ?
The thing is they look more cooked than grilled !?
I think less veggies, and no sausage would help with the charring.
@@GallaghersGrub True
I agree. The best thing for a vegetarian dish is some extra meat.
Lol! Especially sausage.
