Not sure what I was thinking not watching this interview until March 2024. This has to be one of my favorite interviews you've done and I really enjoyed getting to know Eric better. So nice to know someone like him is on our side. Both of you have my support completely. Thanks Erik
Erik, great interview. You need to become more involved in politics. You have a platform to show young folks that race has no place in politics. Also you know the gun industry, what better spokesman for 2A rights. I am the old fart that stopped you in the Buc-ee’s in Temple,TX in September 2022 and asked you if your name was Erik Cortina and you were very gracious to an old man. Please keep up the good work. I am 74 and learn so much watching your videos.
Super Awesome to hear “Erick”, get to be himself…. It was really nice to see him smile and laugh and talk dude stuff! He is welcome at my shop anytime! You to, Erik! Keep ‘em coming…!
Great interview with Eric, Erik! Learned a lot about you, and about him, of whom I knew nothing other than what his last name implied. Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo. Alex
Awesome. Thank you Eric and Erik. Guys, please never quit. I can’t believe that it’s all for nothing. Anyways. Yes on the primer company. Yes on the varget factory. If we can’t have that maybe one that just makes n140 and n555. Although I am personally playing with faster extruded currently on 69 smks on shorter barreled 223. Like 14.5-16. Trying to get a little more speed but we will see. Just for fun and curiosity. Anyways. I am sure there is some silly law making the barrier to entry on primer production like insane so that’s why it hasn’t been done yet. Just a guess no real facts on that. Thanks again. Never quit. It cannot be for nothing. God bless and merry Christmas.
I use to Drive from Ky to Willamsport PA and shoot My brother and an me, we took home the smallest group of the day and 3rd place in score, my brother shot small group of the day and I won my relay for score then took 3rd in shootoff, my brother didn't shoot the shoot off he didn't have ammo and I had 12 cases for the shootoff, left the rifle as is and shot my 10 and got 3rd, it was a very happy 750 mile drive home. I don't think the smiles left for 6 months...Great Vid
@@sethbaker7605 Thank you Seth. I have seen it and it is really good info. I was hoping to have Erik give some more insight on why he wanted the small case and what grain projectile he was going to shoot. I was planning a 7mm Wsm build. I was also planning on necking down the 7mm wsm case to a .25 caliber but after watching many ballistics videos, the main theme was smaller cases with less powder not trying to push it to extremes.
Great interview. I knew Don Jr. and Eric were into firearms, but I had no idea that Eric was familiar with so many rifle cartridges. I agree with Eric, that exposing young people to shooting sports can keep them out of trouble. We need more youth programs with .22 rifles and shotguns.

loved hearing about how much Eric loves the 6BR. I too used Amax 105 for years until I started using berger back in 2012. Jim Stekl is a friend of mine so i’ve been very lucky to shoot with the guy that invited the original 6BR . great interview!

Almost a full year later and things seem to be worse. I have a brother in law, hispanic, that is one of the most successful people I know. When I met him he and his brothers (my friends) were working at his families gas station in Eagle Lake, TX. He put himself through college to be a cop. He got a job in Dallas. After a few years of dealing with perverts and other human trash he quit law enforcement to keep from losing his temper and taking things in his own hands. He started working on a drilling rig. In less than a year he was the driller. He worked his way up to country manager (managing rigs in other countries), retired, and is now consulting. He's still married to my sister and they are doing great. We live in a great country. You can make your life what you want it to be with hard work and listening to the people that know.
I love the 80.5 Berger Fullbores as well for my 5.56 bolt action. They are loaded for a single feed its a 16" barrel and it shoots great with those bullets.
Some things can’t just be produced more. You can give the same one guy 15 more machines. But he can still only run one at a time… and nobody else can do what he does in that building. So give him 1 billion dollars. He’s still only going to make one at a time… and he’s not going to teach 5 new guys how he does it either.
They’re also not publicly held companies, so investing isn’t really a viable option. All we can do is support them with our dollars. They certainly have enough back orders to have been approved for a loan if they really wanted to expand.
Eric Trump is such a cool guy. Down to earth. I never knew he was a gun builder. Awesome to have that talent. Good POD Erik. The best 1 yet. 💯 on board with being in the woods or on the river is good therapy and schooling.
I think Eric purchased that ZCO from Eastwood Outfitters in NC when I was working there. It was under his name and a NY address. Wish I new if it was him for sure.
Great conversation !! Stepping up the interviews. Last 2 have been my favorites by far. Don Jr. would probably put the bar out of reach !!!! Great job Mr Cortina !!!
Great interview! Not only would I enjoy shooting with Eric, but now I want to learn from him and see his rifle building techniques. As a newbie having smith'ed my first two rifles I know I could learn from him just as I do with Erik.
What a great video, i lived about 8 houses from him in Briarcliff sorry to see him move, would love to see some videos of him building a rifle, his DAD is the Greatest, GOD bless both of your families and have a Merry Christmas and a happy New year keep the great vides coming.
Excellent interview Erik, I was surprised to see that Eric seems a very nice down to earth guy, and knowledgeable about guns...very cool...hopefully you can bring him back in future again.

Couldn't you load a 7 RSAUM to 2800 to 2900 fps and get the same results as 7 prcw
7prc is going to shoot 175’s 3000 fps. You numbers gets you to the 7 rem mag. Which I have and love. Probably will still get a 7prc eventually.

Question, you chose to shoot 6.5 prc necked up to 7mm, why is that better than 7 prc
It’s a smaller case. Better suited for what I do.

Could you talk more about case size, bullet weight, and powder charge on necking up the 6.5 prc?
