The Mahindra Bolero Neo scored only one star for both adult and child occupant safety

- The Mahindra Bolero Neo was tested under Global NCAP’s latest protocols and showed low protection for adult protection in the frontal crash with an unstable structure, unstable footwell area, weak chest protection for the driver and poor feet protection. The front impact protection showed a significant difference with side impact protection.
The model does not offer side head protection, not even as optional and SBR are not present according to Global NCAP requirements.
Child occupant protection showed acceptable dynamic performance but was affected by the lack of 3 point belts in all seating positions, lack of passenger airbag disconnection switch and the decision to only allow one CRS to be installed in the car.
The CRS installation showed a low score as most CRS’s failed. The Bolero Neo offers side seating benches which pose a significant risk for all occupants. Mahindra falls disappointingly short of Global NCAP’s safety expectations with the continued use of this type of seating.

The A-pillar collapsing is a serious issue. Reflects a complete lack of any structural integrity.

Second, even though the A-pillar seems bent, the passenger compartment is intact in the Avensis due to the structural rigidity provided by the door panels. Collapsing of A pillar and the roof is serious lack of structural integrity

Scorpio Classic and Bolero can also score similar ratings as they are also based on Mahindra's old Ladder frame chassis however new cars of Mahindra based on ladder frame chassis are strong enough like Scorpio-N, Thar & Marazzo
ScorpioN has front wheel stability issues and caused accidents bcoz of which owner even lost his right leg..

Always thought this was a well built car 😐
Ye tuv 300 hai rebranded as bolero neo, it can't replace the bolero
The difference will be Mahindra will accept this and come up with upgraded model. Unlike some of the other brands like Suzuki, Hyundai who keep cribbing about gncap's authenticity. Good to mention, Hyundai did change their stance once Bharath ncap started functioning by providing 5* Verna. Hope they continue to prioritize safety.
In 2016 Scorpio classic was tested and got 0*. Today is 2024 8yrs passed. And Scorpio Classic is not yet tested to prove it is updated with safety..
What are you smoking? They are still selling the Scorpio Classic which was rated a big 0 back in 2016 with 0 changes. The Bolero Neo is also based upon the TUV 300 which had 0 safety, you really think Mahindra cares about safely? What a joke
When Nexon secured 5*, Anand Mahindra did tweet congratulating them and did promise he would give safer cars and he did give following :
xuv 300, xuv 700, Scorpio N with 5* , Thar and Marazzo with 4*
xuv 300 5* in South Africa too.
Scorpio classic scored 0* because the model didn't had any airbags. It's a straight 0 for models without Airbags, cross verify with Tata zest. First model without Airbags scored 0* and the next with dual airbags scored 4*...
After so much of improvement in a country like India where majority of customers don't consider safety as a buying parameter, stating does Mahindra really care about safety is too much. Definitely there is a room for improvement for models manufactured on their older platforms. And Mahindra overall really did well where the top 2 players of our country always cribbed Gncap as a bafoon until Bharat Ncap opened.
@@vinthelife I guess you are right. They do have pretty safe models and so on, but they cut corners alot compared to Tata. Like the lower model's of ScorpioN don't even have the necessary features to score even 3 stars in current protocols, yet they sponsored and paid gncap to get a higher model be tested. Even in case of bolero neo or scorpio classic, they are still being sold with 0 changes to the Bodyshell or chassis since 2016. We can still excuse bolero classic since its very affordable, and is mainly used for commercial purposes in rural areas but not bolero neo or Scorpio classic which cost 11-18 lakhs.

it was bound to happen as the Bolero Neo is based o the older generation scorpio which has already scored a 0 star
Highly time we realise these ratings make so sense because in reality nobody in India are even bothered about things they consider.
Tuv 300 ka karo test😅
Bolero is body on frame model. So there will be no structural integrity for pillars and body. Only chassis is strong. This will be same for all body on frame models. But jimny scored 3 stars, so mahindra should have done better job.
Scorpio-N is a body on frame and it got 5 stars. So this is not due to body on fram
This is expected 0 stars because it’s an old platform from 2014~ 15’a
Bro only with a dual airbag it gets 1 star it needs some more airbags.❤
Power full gadi hai guys
Mahindra is interested in XUV700, Scorpio N, Thar etc.. least bothered about Bolero, Neo, KUV etc...
How can this happen.. Bolero is always known for it's superior build quality, and it scored very poor over here 😢
structural integrity is different than perceived "build quality", they put heavier chunk of metal without spending any funds on R & D of crash safety, result is people are fooled easily, company is not fooling them, people are fooling themselves on notion of "Heavier is safer".
Please crash test maruti suzuki brezza 🙏🙏🙏
Humare pass purani Bolero hai gaon mai, agar uska bhi rating nikala toh 0 hi bolenege

This happened because it has only 2 airbags...if it came with 4 or 6 airbags standard then surely 3 or 4 star sure
Nah, Look at the front pillars, it bends very much and also the door. At 64kmph this is not supposed to happen. Even lower rated car's piller didn't bent
Congratulations Mahindra & specially to Anand Mahindra for his hollow patriotism rhetoric for manufacturing such a unsafe car for us Indians!
The front collision damage extended all the way to the door, this car is a COFFIN ON WHEELS.

Looks like 5-Stars are reserved for XUV and Scorpio only. A person spending 12 lacs on Bolero Neo doesn’t deserve safety. Shame on Mahindra for their different standards. Look at Tata, they care even for a Tiago owner. I use this Bolero Neo as my official car, seriously disappointed.
Mahindra bolero crash test
Mahindra be like: less money, less safety😂
Well dummy are safe .. is it due to 6 airbag compliance???
The pillers have collapsed at 64kmph which is too bad. This is the main reason
@@hrishickrudhreshIts only a Small Barrier at 64 only, If a Large barrier or a Heavier Veichel Hits even at low 50 kmph, it can be fatal to the family members sitting inside.
That's why We are tata owners 😊
I feel like Mahindra seriously reduced the quality and strength of the material in Bolero neo in comparison with Tuv300.
Mahindra please change bolero neo chassis or platform similar give in marazzo , xuv700 , scorpio n , thar , xuv 300 this all products achieve 4 or 5 ✨ star safety ratings
I don't think they will otherwise it will become more expensive and most of Mahindra's sales come from Bolero
I was not expecting this😢
ANCAP 0-star rating for ScorpioN. Allegedly, the front wheel is popping out for a lot of vehicles; can be seen on a bunch of YT videos. M&M hasn’t commented on it though but better to go with XUV700 and XUV300.

What is this mahindra even we can't imagine day by day trusted brands becoming worse😢
