Does OU Softball Have an Unfair Home Field Advantage, or Is Mike White Just a Whiny B*tch?

  • OU won their fourth straight national title in softball last night, sweeping Texas by a combined score of 16-7. Naturally, cries of homefield advantage ring out given that the world series games are played at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, about 30 miles from OU's campus. Mike White certainly didn't waste time commenting on it. Hey Mike, however you feel about the games being played in OKC, crying like a little bitch about it is the fans' job, not yours.
There are two questions that arise after every OU national title that I will attempt to answer:
    1. Does OU have an unfair advantage due to its location?
    2. If so, what can be done about it?
    Let's discuss!

OU didn't need to have people outside the stadium in the parking lot watching the game on their phone only to lay on a deafening train horn when Texas is batting to try and gain an advantage as Texas did to OU this year and no one stopped them from doing it. Instead OU just gave them a plain 'ole @$$ whipping the OU way, with a Texas born and raised ace pitcher. Beating Texas to win the 4peat couldn't have been better scripted. To have the Longhorns stand and watch the Sooners celebrate was priceless. Oh yeah and the 12K screaming Sooner fans was the cherry on top.

I swear ppl make this videos complaining about it for likes and comments. So here we go again. OKC is the only city who put up the money for the tournament it has been a colossal flop everywhere else. So it was moved back to OKC where it has success. We as OU fans find it hilarious that it's all Anti OU fans can do is say it's right up the road so it's home field advantage. New flash you people we play at loves field not Devon stadium till tourney time. I also find it hilarious Oklahoma St does the same thing but yall don't bring that up. Contrary to popular belief nobody had issues with us until 2021 when we started winning and steamrolling the competition. Also it's locked in till 2035 that the WS will be played there per the contract between OKC and the NCAA. If you dislike OU and cheer for another team then maybe your team should beat us then there won't be this issue anymore of all of you whining and complaining over it non stop. Imagine the stress that would come from thinking about losing to florida in front of so many home fans, breaking the natty streak, and ending your career like that, and then going out and getting the come from behind win in extra innings no less. this OU team is built on faith and grit not home field advantage.

I don't recognize the man doing the talking, but I quite like him. although I don't fully agree. The biggest problem Texas has is there damn whiny ass coach. If Mike White cannot get his team jacked up enough to go play in any city Then just stay the hell home. Texas and a shit load of Other cities did not want to spend the money for a stadium yet they want the game to be played in their backyard. In the name of all things holy GROW UP. If you want to dance, you have to pay the fiddler. Texas fought their way to the finals in Oklahoma City. And then they face a high quality opponent and can hardly tie their cleats. If you have to have thousands of screaming fans blowing in your ear to motivate you, you may as well not play. Here is the hard truth your fielding and defense is pathetic. Mike commented on it himself about 3 months ago, Something about how they're defense didn't help or compliment the pitching and offense very much and you have to make the plays that have to be made. I said before, General Patton never had a home field advantage and he kicked ass about every fight he was in. Even with homefield advantage, you still have to go out and outscore your opponent and outplay them on defense and make fewer mistakes, and come up with big hits when there are runners on base, you have to beat your opponent. Texas did none of that, especially in game 2 against the Sooners so Mike White bitches about the venue. If you have to have an excuse, at least make it a good one.
The Sooners play with a passion and intensity that is unmatched, and if they have to throw a few bats and yell a little bit to do that, they've earned that, right !!!!!!!!!!!!! Go throw some bats, Mike. It might help at least you would feel better.
