      noel wrote all of them and it was a new chapter for him, so why he's talking about the songs so long. and he likes to tell stories. liam is not good with words and he doesn't like tio talk much *he's all about action) and a couple of tunes were written for him so... it's not that strange.

    He's just so open minded when it comes to music, when you've been doing the same thing for 20 years it must feel great to have someone to push you to do something different. People still seem to think he's the same person he was when he was in Oasis, people mature and change and for me Noel is a much much better person now making much better music than he ever did in the last 10 years of Oasis.

    I love the new album and I've been a die-hard Oasis fan since 1994. The songs are great, the unorthodox arrangements and the album's overall production are amazing. It's crazy, people who claim they love John Lennon, blame Noel for making a trippy psychedelic record like "Who Built The Moon?".

    • @soulagent79
      @soulagent79 Před 6 lety +1

      Growing up in Mendips, Lennon himself was not working class at all and Noel said "mundane" with a suggestion of irony or sarcasm in his voice.

    • @whitedevil4122
      @whitedevil4122 Před 6 lety +1

      Spot on, soulagent. I had a similar thought. It was reminding me of when Paul Weller left the Jam and started the style council. All the Jam fans were pissed because Weller was making gay music and wearing fruity cardigans. The simple fact is he had done all he could with the Jam. Leaving helped him grow as a musician and he is better for it. Some of these Oasis fans would like to see a bald Liam and Noel out on stage when they're 60 playing the same old songs....just like Status Quo, or something.

    • @whitedevil4122
      @whitedevil4122 Před 6 lety +1

      +Beatle Stories - Does he really need to explain his comment? It's not that hard to grasp, tbh. His comment is not about their views on the working class. He is comparing their musical progression and the reaction of the fans to it. A lot of Beatles fans were pissed off when they moved away from the tried and tested into 'weird' music....which proved, in the end, to be their best work. This happened with the Beach Boys with their shift to 'Pet Sounds' and Paul Weller when he left the Jam. The irony, as I suspect soulagent is also pointing out, is that a lot of these fans criticising Noels change, probably sit around banging on about how great Sgt Pepper is and would rank it way above a hard days night and would laugh at the people who moaned at the time about the change. These Oasis fans want Noel to carry on making a hard days night.

      I bought Liam's new album too, listened to it a couple of times and I think it is an okay record with a handful of nice tunes. It's obvious Liam put a lot of effort into it and he had quite a few helping hands writing and producing it, but frankly the record seems to be going nowhere after all.

    clearly Noel is one thousand percent satisfied with this record, despite not having any real pre conceived idea of what the album would sound like.. he just tapped into his musical psyche, let loose and went with it. There's dozens of other obscure references on there, besides psychedelia, Roxy Music, krautrock, Bowie (low period) Acid House, The Prodigy, New Order, The Chemical Brothers, Cabarete Voltaire.. and so on.. The album is constructed form the Beck School of songwriting; a bit like Picasso, steal bits and pieces from everywhere and throw them all in to the mix and see what happens. Having said that, at the very core of the songs, are Noels signature great melodies, gluing it all together... strip it all back from the sonic paraphernalia and the (what the fuck is this shit brigade) would be surprisingly satisfied. However, sadly for those unable to rise to the musical challenge set by Noel, they are left feeling betrayed and somehow let down. Well that's just tough shit I'm afraid, as Noel's a long way past giving two fucks what his fans think, and I for one say good luck to the guy, he's earned it!

    And when I'm not listening to it I'm like "It's not as good as I remember it", and then I put it on and I'm like "It is just that damn good!"

    In terms of individual tracts, It's a Beautiful World ranks as one of the best songs he's ever written. If there are complaints about some songs, because his first two solo albums had some really good tracks I get it. But this album is the first complete album , almost a concept album. You need to listen to the whole product, over and over and it remains in your head. Wonderful feel!

    What do people expect him to do, keep making stuff that sounds like Oasis?
    Everyone had a go at Paul Weller when he left the Jam. The Style council wasn't his finest hour but we never would have had "Stanley Road" or "Wild Wood" if Weller had just tried to please the Jam fans.
    "Who Built the Moon" is nothing like Oasis but that doesn't mean it isn't brilliant in it's own right. The best album HFB have done.

    Sometime back I had a theory that *Daft Punk* had developed some amazing algorithm that analyse the greatest music from the last 40 odd years & managed to distil that into the essence of some very good & catchy tunes. I don't know if Noel hasn't done the same here? I get a bit of *The Beatles & Stones,* some early French pop music, some *Prodigy.....* It's a good album with some great tracks though!
