Nice old mixer , I used to mix mortar in one very similar every weekend when I was young ,now just got a little belle 150 lol
Simon Hill Thanks. She's a good ole girl this one, even after many months of not running, she still fires up first swing.
This was fun to watch. In younger days, I shoveled a lot of sand, lime and Portland Cement into one similar to this.

I used to be fascinated by these when I was a child.
WOW! Wonderful shape. Like brand new. Someone had really taken care of this one. SWEET running as well, no rattles or scrapes. Just Petters right along! Thanks for posting this. I get a kick out of old stuff that runs well.

+Lewie McNeely Im a self employed labourer in the UK, i started on a new site today and this is the mixer they are having me use. Such a relic but it keeps up with more modern mixers!
Just because it's new doesn't mean better. I go with the o0ld tried and true myself. Newer is usually more complicated and in the shop while the older is out making money.

Hello George, sorry I have no idea, in fact if you should find out please tell me because I would love to know what dates my two mixers originate from... Im guessing late 1960's come 1970's. but thats just a wild guess. Thanks for watching. Paul
@MrMoterKid It cranks quite easy considering its not used very often, You just have to keep looking, one will eventually show up, but it will most likely be on the other side of the country as usual. There is a lot of junk sold on ebay, and for silly money at times. Keep watching, something will eventually show up.

Me too, shame you can't smell the fumes, they are quite nice, but then it runs on Red Diesel so unlike normal diesel this a slightly different smell...

If you don't mind my asking, what is that noise as you're cranking it slowly? In my mind's eye I can't help but think of a piston scraping up and down a cylinder but it's not that, surely?

The chances of that are very slim as we speak but you never know. If it did happen out of the blue I probably wouldn't have my camera... ha ha. Saying that the biggest Diesels I captured this year were on Caterpillar tractors. Take a look, might interest you.
