    Great tutorial but I got little confused with my unsorted data. Later found it works proper with the sorted data.
    After a long search in multiple channels, I found the required solution. Subscribing your channel for this solution. Thanks again.

    i tried different tutorials and this one was the by far the most comprehensive and effective one. Yet mine still was not working, but i added 0 at the end of the match value as a search type and it worked perfectly.

    Great training and by far the best method out there without using app script. Just wondering why data needs to be sorted to make this work (in case you know the underlying reason)

    How do we get rid of the "invalid" warning when we go back and select a new value from the first drop-down? This seems to be intentional with Google Sheets, i.e. not an error, but it quite distracting to user of a sheet with multiple drop down lists. Any idea how to get rid of it?

    have you done the video using UNIQUE and FLATTEN yet? I can not get the validation to drop down in the Item list. It only holds the first line of items and repeats it on all the other rows. I have 21 categories and I can't make it work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

  • @sandeepkanukurthy499

    You have refered from row 4 to 11 data and it took the reference range and from index match, what if i have same category for multiple rows then the reference will not be looping right?

    • @MDBytes
      @MDBytes  Před 2 lety

      Dear Sandeep, your correct...in such case we shall add UNIQUE with FLATTEN functions to retrieve the cell value of same category in different rows.....with the existing INDEX and MATCH.
