I always loved Taylor swift’s songs since I can remember. I was just not so invested in anything surrounding her. I was a huge Justin Bieber/ One direction fan and Taylor has always surrounded my « fandoms» (I’m talking since 2010). And I never had anything against her, I remember vividly the release of 1989, the whole Kanye drama, but didn’t have time to commit to it. Now, I just have more time to dig into it (1D hiatus, growing up in general,..) and realised (thanks to the eras tour being viral) recently that she is still relevant now. In opposition of any Justin bieber/1D songs (excluding solo Harry), her songs still connect with me, and I’m now 25. She just still hit after so many years when others failed.
And I just realised it like 6 months ago haha

My theory for SLVT is that she probs won’t say the word. I bet each letter stands for something. My reasoning is.
When she done the 1989 Vault on Google, afterwards, when she announced the other titles… she said their names.
SLVT is the only one we haven’t heard her say, because I think she wants us to think she’s gonna say it but she’s not gonna say it. Either will be something to do with the word without saying it or the letters will stand for something

As someone who doesn't live near a tour date, the movie was the closest thing I'll ever get to going to the actual tour.
Anyone else realized that Taylor actually said, “ To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane” LIKE ARE YOU EVEN PREPARED FOR OCTOBER 27th!?!? IM NOT READY FOR IT AT ALL.. New Romantics was fire, these vaults will be BOMB.
I think it was a smart choice to save Long Live for the credits because it wasn’t always on the set list for the entire tour, and it’s a perfect credits song. I actually applaud the judiciousness she used in what other songs to cut. She didn’t want the movie to drag on for the people dancing in the theaters.
So agree with the ED comment, people are so fixated at on it and i dont get it. They could literally make her relapse with the way they constantly put her past and present body together! I hate it

I don’t typically actually engage in the theories, I’m more of a “silent swiftie” lol BUT, I’ll tell you something that’s been stuck in my head…with all the talk/theories of a double album…and the final track list on 1989 being “Is it over now?” Could that be an Easter egg?! As in, no it’s not over and then we get a deluxe 1989 TV drop with more vault tracks and features?! 🧐 it’s just an interesting choice song title for the final track!

I cried on “tears ricochet”. It was not a song I was very fond of.
But man, seeing them in a type of funeral dance and she singing it made the lyrics pop up like crazy. It hit me hard. All kinds of feelings 😅😢 it was beautiful ❤

I agree with Long Live. I assumed she cut songs because she wanted it less than 3 hrs. If I remember correctly, she did a part of Wildest Dreams so I can see cutting that. I love Tis The Damn Season, No Body No Crime and Cardigan but she did have a large amount of songs for those eras. I think she cut The Archer because it's a slower type song and it's just her (I've heard swifties complain it's boring, i disagree). but LONG LIVE!!!! she did a new dress and brought out her koi fish guitar for it. It was WAY too special not to have.
For Long Live, I assume it's because it wasn't in the first shows (since Speak Now TV wasn't out), so they decided to cut it...
I haven't reached the 1989TV section yet BUT I just have to jump in and talk about the movie because oh my goodness was I blown away. I didn't think I was going to cry but I also was basically crying from the countdown as well and by the time Love Story hit I was full on sobbing. The Evermore set actually blew my mind and the Rep set was just *chefs kiss*
I love that she’s re-doing Sweeter Than Fiction. It gives this amazing song a permanent spot on 1989. She was born in 1989, and she’s owning her work, so why not add STF which was essentially the birth of Taylor and Jack’s working together.

1989 TV will be my first official comeback since becoming a Swiftie! I had first done a deep dive of Taylor's music during the month of the release of Speak Now TV and it's been a magical experience learning how talented of a writer T-swizzle is. As a teen now, I can definitely relate to her ✨Reputation✨ of writing the soundtrack to your life.
1989 is funnily enough my favorite album and the fact that it gets to be my first piece of new art since I've joined the fandom and sold my soul to Blondie, makes me feel so lucky.
Wonderland is my fav track on it and I'm so unbelievably excited to hear the entire album and of course, for Taytay to own another one of her masterpieces. The vault tracks will be iconic, really looking forward to both "Slut!" & Suburban Legends!
And one last thing, thank you for these videos, Queen! You've been both a wise guru with Taylor Swift knowledge and also a best friend for someone like myself who's unfortunately not surrounded by Swifties IRL. Keep being awesome and enjoy the relentless, unforgiving few days till the release of a lifetime 💜

I feel the exact same way about Amos and Paul! And I'm so happy that so much of the band has been there for ages. Amos is hilarious to me because he goes so damn hard all the time like he's in a metal band when he's in Taylor Swift's band and I honestly think that's GREAT and I can't help but be protective of Paul because he gets really nostalgic for Taylor a lot and then Taylor's done a lot for her band (Bringing Bryan Adams out knowing Paul is such a big fan and how Paul has played with Bryan later on)

same i think this is it and probably we’ll get at least two/three music videos because taylor has her favorites: red tv was treated so well in comparison to fearless tv and speak now tv (whom one never had a new music video and the other era lasted just 4 months) because red era lasted like in entire year and a half and we know damn well that she loves 1989 (as she said this is her favorite re-record) so we are totally getting interviews and a lot of new things, but probably not the side b album i think midnight is probably the only album that will have this, but i wouldn’t be surprised or sad if she drops a side b

Also, about the "Double-Album/Glitch" Theory, a part of me would die from excitement because reputation is iconic (obv) and it would just be so much to fathom. But another part of me would feel disappointed about reputation TV not getting its own moment to shine. I also just don't think that Taylor would do it because we know she cares about album releases/charts and a two albums might hinder that in a way??

it is definitely worth it. i saw the concert before the movie but even if it was in the opposite the concert is just so good that seeing it up close on the big screen and seeing it from more of a distance are two very different experiences and are both perfect in every way. being in the room with her and seeing her on the screen are both sooo worth it!!

New Romantics would’ve been the perfect end credit song! That or death by 1,000 cuts since I think both were really significant to the tour. Sparks fly would’ve also been amazing. THERES HONESTLY SO MANY SHE COULDVE DONE
The last time I remember experiencing this much excitement from a fan base was in 2006/2007, while the world waited for the last Harry Potter book to be released.
The hours spent picking apart fan theories and making predictions, and the collective excitement of anticipation is all coming back.
We know something big is going to happen with this album- something we don’t expect- and you are so HERE FOR IT. It is so fun watching you share your excitement with us.
I agree that “Slut!” is either gonna be a total banger or the most heartbreaking song she’s ever written. I’m hoping for the bop, but am also curious about the emotion and maturity with which she would have written that song when she was 23/24. Her (arguably) most emotional ballad up to that point, All Too Well, is fantastic, but the lyrics are still very literal. She gets a lot more ambiguous and poetic in folklore, and even in reputation.
Considering the lyrics of the other sad songs on 1989 (despite their upbeat feel), I think it’s unlikely that she would have written a true heartbreaker for this album, and the left it off.
Then, considering the emotional maturity and baggage of experiences that she wrote about in “you’re losing me” and “would’ve could’ve should’ve”, I don’t think Taylor would release a new heartbreaker on 1989 unless it could rival her later songs. And it’s difficult to imagine that she could have written a more devastating/beautiful song in her mid-20’s than she did in her early 30’s about a 6-year relationship with the one who, all at once, was the one she had been waiting for. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Joe breakup tracks, and I think those will be her saddest and most poetic yet.
I’m hoping that “Slut!” Will be similar to an earlier version of blank space, that she didn’t have the confidence and self-assurance to release at the time. I’m hoping it will be loud and crude and unapologetically the version of Taylor that she couldn’t show us back then.

I am sooooooo happy to hear that I was not alone in crying at the movie theater! I didn't have enough money to go to the live concert so I went to the movie & so many of the songs hit different in person reminding me of how much I've grown up. I'm turning 31 this year & this felt like a storybook of my life & struggles ❤
I couldn’t get my hands on the tickets so the movie was the closest I could get to experience the tour. I went to watch it with my friend first and then my little brother and both time had the time of my life singing along the whole 3 hrs lol

I really appreciated the movie coming out, my mom and I surprised my swiftie brother with eras tour tickets on May 7th and he was so so excited! Unfortunately bc it was the rain show and he has SPD as part of his autism he got super overwhelmed super fast and wanted to go home and we gave up hope that Taylor was gonna come out. I got the announcement that she was gonna come out while we were driving home on the interstate and my mom ended up going with me. I went in blind and was converted to Swiftieism, but my brother has been so so upset about missing the show since that night. The movie works out bc the movie theater is his favorite place to go and spend time, and we’ve already seen the movie three times! I’m hoping if she announces more US or Canada dates that we can get tickets so he can see her live, or if not then I’m hoping we can save up money to see her on my birthday in Miami next October!!💛💛

How I see it is a live concert and concert film are two very different experiences. I went to the concert film and really enjoyed it, and can't wait to see her live next June in Dublin.

I've been to the movie twice with different family members!! My mom, who didn't even know who Taylor was (probably one of the only 5 people in the entire who doesn't haha) is now a swiftie and has asked me on multiple ocassions to show her specific songs, performances, albums..She's becoming a swiftie 🤭 Going to the actual show next summer both nights and can't wait!

I’m not seeing the eras tour until Nov. 2024 and I also debated seeing the tour movie. I decided to go see it and im so glad I did!! It makes me so much more excited to see it all in person.
I was hesitant to see the Eras movie too, worried I would spoil the surprise for the live show. But I ended up seeing the film because I figured it would be a completely different perspective/experience to when I am vibing from row Z of level 4 at the MCG lol
I don’t think anything is spoiled. The live show will still be amazing and yes, my memory too will have reset by then 😂

It's so fascinating to hear everyone's theories about the vault tracks. And then see if someone was right or how far from the truth we were!!
Suburban Legends somehow reminded me of Desperate Housewives. How lies and secrets can make or break friendships. And I wouldn't be surprised if she also has a song about her girl squad. That was one of the things she was so proud and happy about. When a large part of that group fell away or turned against her, that must have stirred enough in her for a song. Or just the feelings she had about how happy she was with those girls!!
As I'm typing this, Is It Over Now? or Now That We Don't Talk are also about this situation......who knows!! I think it's an interesting subject for a song.
Not every song about people who had an impact in her life has to be about men.......
