- A Bronx woman was terrified as she fumbled with her key while trying to get into her New York apartment after a random man had followed her home last month. In video footage of the moment, the woman can be seen rushing to her door and slamming it shut seconds before the man sprints after her and tries to open it. He kicks the door when he realizes he can’t get in. The victim, 50, was arriving at home around 2 a.m. on Sept. 23 when the incident took place, she told authorities. #news

I’ve noticed that he tried to put his foot at the door. That black man has done stuff before.
A complex I lived at had the doors open during the day but at night it was locked and also hour responsibility to lock it behind you when you came in no one without a key or a guest without someone to let them wasn't allowed in the complex. The next place same rule but the tenants would never lock the door because they had people that weren't on lease living there as well. The keys to apartment could be copied but to the locked doors could not be, if you weren't on the lease you only had 1 key to enter.

This happened to me when I was 15 on holiday with my family in spain.
I was going from the pool back up to our apartment (parents and siblings were by the pool).
I remember this guy knocking on one of the apartments but when he noticed me he gave me a really weird look that put me on edge and started to follow me.
I wasn’t calm like this lady and ran to my apartment and slammed the door in his face.
He was just outside knocking and saying ‘Hola! hola!’
I shouted for my dad over the balcony and that scared him off.
Never did find the bastard but he was clearly a local looking for girls going back to their rooms.

This happened to my sister and elderly mom. A guy followed them inside the building and trailed. Thankfully, my sister had the forethought to stop and knock at a neighbor’s door instead and started calling out a man’s name to open the door. The guy walked past them, down the stairs and out of the building.

I recently installed a digital door lock. In times of emergency I won't have to fumble with my housekey. And by using my thumbprint, numeric passcode or an access card, opens my door way quicker.
One thing I noticed that makes this even more terrifying, is that as he was running towards her door, he purposefully stuck his foot forward towards the side of the door that was closing, meaning he was completely planning on getting in and had probably done stuff like this before. I'm so glad that woman was able to safely get into her apartment.

I would of made sure I was off to the side if he did get a chance to run in and run right back out that door. Better to escape than be trapped in my apartment with a sicko and call 911 as I run off to someplace I know nearby that is safe.

This is why all apartments should have a security officer, or someone to guard the door and maintain entry. If you aren't willing to do that in order to protect your own tenants, then you don't deserve to manage an entire complex of people.

I never support this type of behavior in anybody. But this could happen to anyone. What about the young boy who is also bullied by his school mates or other neighborhood guys.? It’s basically the same type of treatment.

He tried to stop the door closing with his foot. You can tell he slammed his foot down on the ground to catch the door before it shut. Very scary.

That’s some edge of seat thrills right there. She was literally less than a second from harm. Thank God she made it inside her apartment in the nick of time.
What I like is she was mindful of her surroundings, spotting him out of the corner of her eye 👁️👀 earlier, when she entered the building he was just a step behind, yet she kept calm, cool, and focused, if she had lost her composure for a spell and panicked, it could've made her his next victim, thankfully she's alive and well to share her story.
