    Its very good. Thanks. I didn't know why we press down the soil !
    I would just like to add that I think its best to let the water soak into the plant before we disturb the roots at all. Once those micro-roots are broken by even gentle disturbance, it might be difficult for the plant to drink. In ideal conditions, it doesn't matter, but we are not always in ideal conditions.

    Which temperature they grow ? I live in humid and warm place (sometimes 70- 90 F degree with lots of rain ) so do i have to keep them in direct sun or shade and how often to water them?
    They germinate fine when i plant them but my issue is how to take care of them after germination.
    How often to water them
    outside where to keep them in sun or shade
    Last time they died after germinating i think either because of moving them to bigger pot or watering

    • @LearnHow2
      @LearnHow2  Před 2 lety

      They will grow in full sun but in your climate I would shield them from afternoon sun. Water them when the soil feels dry - but keep it moist to prolong flowering. Keep safe.

    • @LearnHow2
      @LearnHow2  Před 4 lety +5

    • @rr7firefly
      @rr7firefly Před 4 lety +2

      @@LearnHow2 That is amazing. Usually in plant videos the soil mix is decidedly finer, such as compost and potting soil. I live in an area that has a clay soil so that was why I recognized your soil texture. We usually have to treat it to make it more conducive to plant growing. Your answer surprises me but it gives me hope.

    Is it possible to grow nasturtiums in large containers? If so, what should the spacing be? I ask because we have so many slugs and snails that keep eating our plants and I'd prefer not to plant the nasturtiums in a bed.

      t4echnically speaking nasturtiums are the decoy plants and hold up well to pests. Ideally pests attack the nasturtiums instead of the crops. That's how I was taught to plant them anyway.

      Yes. The leaves can be used in a salad or stir fry. The flowers petals are a good addition to salads. They are known to be peppery, so add to your taste level. The petals, esp. the yellow ones, are very high in lutein, which is good for the eyes. The seeds can be pickled and are called the "poor man's caper".

    • @LearnHow2
      @LearnHow2  Před 3 lety

      Hi John. I grow hundreds of plants each year. I start them early (indoors) and the tray allows me to move them about easily and control their environment. This would be impractical for a large number of individual pots. If you want to use pots then no problem. Keep safe.
