- A recap video from the Blue Dome crit at the 2022 Tulsa Tough omnium weekend. Night 1 was full of excitement. Under the lights and quite a few crashes along the way. In this video I walk you through some of the strategy during the race.

Hahaha, freaking awesome. I watched this race on someone's live stream and was really rooting for the one guy who went off the front against Legion. I had no idea that was you man. During that flyer everyone commenting on that stream wanted you to stick it till the end so bad lol. For those 2 laps you were our hero. Edits are sick too man, subbed!
Thanks man. Love this comment. Glad I could make the race a bit more exciting! Thanks for subscribing too.
Insane! Well done you for surviving and having a good go off the front 💪🏻
Thanks!
I'm the dude in pink at 10:45... thx for not running over my frame hahaha
🤣. Your welcome! Haha
Soundtrack and editing are off the charts. Thanks for truly taking us inside that race!
Thanks! I’ll keep ‘em coming.
Great all-around! The ride, video, music, and editing are all superb. Getting pumped for this weekend.
Thanks! Me too!
Awesome ride Drew! That was Chris Tolley providing the color commentary during the aftermath. He has a really good camera angle of you displaying some epic bike handling skills navigating the chaos on his channel.
Yes, someone just recently introduced me to his videos. And I did see that video of me narrowly avoiding death that he posted. Haha.
Excellent videos! Please keep sharing these!!!
Great edit, and love the descriptions. Was watching in person that night and for me a newer racer, the commentary is very educational!
Awesome. Glad to hear it’s helpful!
After watching a few different videos from the day, yours definitely is the best edited and gives the best perspective of what is going on in the race. Love it!
Thanks for the words! More to come.
Great video. Stunning crash avoidance. Enjoyed watching you mix it up. Well done.
Yea. Not sure how you acquire that skill but glad I have. Haha
Just came across your videos and I have to say top notch! Thanks!! Stay safe and God Bless.
Thanks!
Excellent video and racing, watching this really gives insight to crit racing at the pro level. You rode a great race and attack with 8 laps to go. Wish I was at this level, but those days a long gone... Great video, those barriers come up quick and their unforgiving..
Yea. For sure. Thanks for watching!
Dude that was awesome to see. Great insight and race intelligence!
Thanks! More to come.
"Talented and seasoned rider"! Gotta love that. Way to go. Nice effort and great video
Yea. That’s just a nice way to say I’m old. Haha
this is the second vid i've watched of yours and you're a beast. Keep it up!!
Thanks for watching!
Killer attack. Seeing all these videos of guys dismantling Legion makes my day. Tired of watching the gutter people crashing them out. Been happening for years
Yep. We all feel the same racing against them.
@@DrewDillmanChannel sick bike handling by the way. For us old guys that are slow, you are our hero. Keep giving them hell!
Great commentary- glad I found your channel!
Awesome. Thanks!
Loving the way you edit your videos.
Thanks! I’ll keep ‘em coming.
was that chris tolley screaming? i'm out fuck that LOL amazing
Yep. Those were his words. Haha
Crit racing is crazy. But your attack was beautiful!
Thank you. Hopefully more successful in the future! Haha.
Fan of Drew just sending it trying to shake things up. Hope to meet you one day on one of the events. The video and editing is pure knowledge/education for a spectator of the sport. I start to understand the tactics happening from you quality video. Thanks Drew gold content happening here for the sport.
Thanks! I’ll keep ‘em coming.
It was all worth the air time on the stream! Nice racing man.
Thanks! Totally agree. Haha.
Found your channel via the youtube algo, love the editing etc. have subbed. That ending was nuts lol and loved the flyer that was awesome, you were on tv mate! So cool.
Thanks man! Gotta make it exciting somehow! Haha
Great ride Drew. Watched it live & was stoked to see your breakaway.
Nice to see some firsthand video of L39's tactics. What do you think other teams can do better to counter them?
Yea, that's a good question. I think that Friday course is just tough because it's already hard to pass and when they have 6 aggressive riders, it just makes it even more hard to get around. I like what Best Buddies has been doing. Attack all day and then over-take the Legion train with 2 to go. Seems to be working. Heard BB went 1-2 at Harlem this weekend.
Subscribed. One of the best race one! Your day is well called ;)
Thanks!
Awesome stuff!
Thanks!
The Chris Tolley commentary is hilarious, despite the obvious horrendous circumstances. Great upload Drew!
Thanks!
First video I have seen of yours. Great stuff! Also just another example of dirty Legion tactics...certainly effective though
Yea. A bit aggressive but they do win races.
Awesome video!!!
Thanks!!
Awesome!!!!
thanks so much for this video, what other sport would have a post-game breakdown created by one of the stars! And hearing Tolley's voice after the crash!
Thanks man!
Just another day in the #critlife. Thanks for that.
New sub here. Excellent videos! Looking forward to more!
Yep. I’ll keep em coming!
Way to go for it . That was a great move even if it didn't work out .
Nice Video!! Awesome racing, someone needs to give Legion some of their own medicine and make them kiss the walls
Yes. I was thinking the same thing. Except they each have a solid 20 pounds on me. Hard to push big guys around.
Lol you caught me flatting at 4 to go through the start finish
Oh snap. Didn't realize that was a flat. Bummer!
Crazy race. Just surviving is a victory. That Cervelo is beautiful, that aero must be helpful at those speeds
Yea. The aero bike has definitely grown on me.
That's amazing that Hernandez's derailleur came clean off. Usually when you snap a derailleur hanger, the mech gets wedged between the wheel and the chainstay, leading to some serious mayhem. Not that this has ever happened to me...
Yea. I can’t believe it somehow came off the chain as well.
This style of American cycling seems ridiculously dangerous. Good job on coming out of it alive!
It is dangerous. But more risk means more exhilaration!
Amazing footage and you're a fucking beast, nice one for trying to stir things up, full reepct.
a race to remember
Nice vid! What camera are you using? It's cool to see the bars rotating and the feed is steady.
GoPro Max. It does 360 recording which would be nice for "off the front" clips because a forward facing camera is pretty boring in those scenarios. But I really don't like having it on my helmet.
Sick
Thanks again! Haha
Keep ‘em coming!
Will do! Hopefully get the other 2 races edited in the next few days!
Way to take it to Legion!
Lolol you can hear me pull the plug after that end crash.
Yea. Had multiple people mention that. Haha
Great video. That last crash was horrible.
Yea. It was scary for sure. That feeling of “oh no I’m about to hit this pavement so hard” is never a good feeling.
Can you explain how "the pit" works?
If you flat or crash you get a free lap. An opportunity to get back into the race.
@@DrewDillmanChannel Ah. Thanks!
Just curious Drew, at about 5-mins into the video there's a crash, which you're caught behind. You're then in the pit. Are you allowed to take a lap out like that, or was your bike damaged? I'm fairly certain we're only allowed a lap out if something is broken on your bike (and i think the circuit has to be less than a certain length)
We have the foot down rule. If you had to put a foot on the ground you get a free lap. Basically if you’re impeded by a crash.
@@DrewDillmanChannel Nice. I'm pretty sure we don't have that.
great pov and commentary! (also just fyi it's uncharted territory. never unchartered )
Oh. That makes sense. Haha. Thanks.
Makes me feel like I'm racing again.
Great man!
@4:29 how do you loose a derailleur?
That is a great question. I have no idea!
Where is the city?
is williams riding on 170 cranks?
No idea.
Watching that one dude almost cause several crashes just delivered me a week's worth of anxiety all at once.
Yea. Sorry about that! Haha.
@@DrewDillmanChannel Otherwise, great video! Keep it up.
Why dont they get penalties for changing direction so you’re forced to brake just after the corners? Is this not UCI rules or is it just anything goes?
I’m not too sure on the exact rules. I know you can’t take your hands off the bars to move another rider.
@@DrewDillmanChannel that rule also makes sense. If this happened at a race in EU. The team would get a minor penalty for this. You had the right to a “lane” in the corner. And the inside line rider was nowhere close to crashing for giving you space.
It’s a bit lame to race like that.
Agreed.
It’s not often I root against a team…..but then there is legion
Haha. Yes. Agreed.
It's a shame that one or two other riders didn't go with you near the end. Not knowing which way a bike will bounce always makes things interesting.
Not sure why a rider would lose his rear derailleur when he's always in the big ring, and near the business end of his cassette.
And the fact that his chain somehow came out of the derailleur so that it completely came off the bike. That’s bizarre.
New here and to the sport, what's with all the Legion hate? Those guys seem like they push out a good effort
They race a bit overly aggressive and are pretty cocky in general. Just not fun people to race with.
Give me a free bike and I would do this but I'm not dumb enough to spend thousands of dollars of my own money and do it. Even if you win it's not enough to cover your expenses.
Yea. I hear ya
Cool race video but the soundtrack sucks. Would have preferred to hear of the race.
Yea. I left the race noise in the background and just put the music over it. Thanks for watching though.
