- Boarding Action is here and we're so excited to be releasing this game for you bosses today!! Lawrence leads the Obsidian Dragons to battle, breaching the hull of a Void Craft to purge the zombies within, but Beard and the Death Guard will stand in his way with Grandfather's blessings!

This was filmed weeks ago, ie before AoC and other Dataslate changes, as well as the faction specific Mustering Rules. We're good, but not "see several weeks into the future to account for rules yet to be released" good đ
They really do change the rules every few weeks :P
So also before the mustering boarding army rules i assume? as you dont split poxwalkers in there ^^

I love this playstyle. Only core stratagems, no warlord traits, smaller scale... epic. I'd love to see more. This was very fun to watch. Had me jumping in my chair a couple of times :D
I, too, loved to see a game boiled down to its essentials.
This is the first play style that I was able to fully immerse myself in the story aspect of a battle report on CZcams. Honestly it makes me wish I could make animated shorts because this match would make an awesome one

The terrain is beautifully painted, Fletcher needs to share his steps please!
Since you didn't get a reply - It's a pretty simple scheme. The steps would look like this.
Painted the whole piece in burnt umber.
Drybrush silver to pick out the edges.
Apply any letter/number decals/stencils.
Base coat the details. Lights in white.
Black wash.
Use an airbrush to selectively apply a basic raw sienna fade above some horizontal crossmembers on the lower halves of the walls and doors.
Airbrush the lights with transparent inks in red/blue/yellow/green. You want overspray here to make a glow effect.
That's pretty much it. Maybe pick out some details on the walls with brushwork if you want.

DEFINITELY want to see more of this! We don't know how long GW is going to support Boarding Actions but it'll be at least through the Arks of Omens books before the next edition, so please make content while it's relevant!
The fast paced action, quicker turns and chances for character duels makes this look fantastic! So many great matchups to be had as well.

As someone that's new to the hobby but kept up in the lore for a few years, this looks like a great start. Keeping the rules simple and game faster paced helps keep you engaged in the action.
I hope you keep making Boarding Action videos. This battle report feels like a breath of fresh air got injected into 40k.
Spider and Beard put on an absolute show, great watch. Boarding action looks like a blast.

This is 40k meets Killteam and it's perfect.
I hope they expand the themed location rules in the future for things like urban warfare or underwater combat with similar cqc rules
Don't give GW any bright ideas...we don't need Primaris Sub-Marines in Nautilus armor wielding vibro-tridents and torpedo bolters while getting a special Librarian Discipline-Aquarian.....Sea current manipulation, sonar detection, sonar camouflage, summon force dolphins and hyperbaric trauma abilities

@@starlord157 they use a pair of squigs that have to tubes coming from their heads so when the ork marine takes a breath off the breather squig he can inflate them. They also use a pair of flipper squigs that they put on like a pair of boots.

The captain and typhus battle my God that was stressful epic!

Loving the mental image of the Centurions shooting their flamers and hurricane bolters as they run pellmell against the Terminators, stomping and trampling over the dead, smouldering one.

That felt exciting. Sure, the terrain pack is expensive, but you could poorhammer walls out of cardboard and foam and have as much fun.
Absolutely. No need to buy the official set, could just use the rules and build up to an official set if you think itâs worth it over time!

The small points for the warbands makes this so much easier for new players or for experience plays to find out what new models can do.
Even if we just get 1 game per month I be interested in seeing more content and even if it's only one per month or as a little extra content on free view or on your website

I mean you guys know what's best. But not even seeing the full report yet. But it would be a great starter to a narrative campaign about a huge void battle above a planet or some such. A small birding action game before a couple of big games that will show the out come of the battle itself

I've been two years into the hobby but only into painting and lore. This boarding actions have made me, for the first time, watch entire battle reports. Definitely getting to itch to play with this little angry miniatures.
That game was amazing. The duel between the warlords was epic and man what a game. I wish it was longer cause it was fun but at the same time it's kinda cool that you can have smaller scale games still be engaging and faster paced. Sadly as a guard player don't think this one works well for me but it's really fun to watch!

Lawrence got good taste in sci-fi horror action. Aliens, Event Horizon, Pandorum are all great. Also shout out to The Abyss, it's not horror, but a classic for me anyway. I just love a creepy deep ocean setting. Sadly nowhere to be found on streaming platforms where I live.
