Rotation: Torrent > Disintegrate > TELEPORT IN > Ixe Block > Teleport out.
That's a different way of playing Wizard. Remember that arcane torrent hits hard in single (or very few) targets but doesn't have that long range, you HAVE TO teleport in after using both torrent+ray, people can just walk away easily.
Or, instead of the torrent, the old arcane wind to pull targets to center plus the freeze, giving more seconds of damage.
One build I'm liking a lot is the freezing one, with freeze off hand with wind (just need to get the Inferno IV main hand), freezing helmet with Frost ray (and clone chest, which now 'turns' around itself to target closest one). You could throw in meteor (frost pants and +66% damage shoulder on frozen targets).
Another build that I used in the past, and with success, was with the lightning scorch helmet, that continually stuns people caught, 2 charges, can be thrown from very far (this one with the immobilizing nova).

Great build, thank you! The best thing is that few people know about it and use it yet. I modified it a bit for myself - the starting point was of course your build, because using the Disintegration summon and Ice Crystal as immunity works very effectively and you came up with a great idea with it. The skills I use are Teleport, Disintegrate, Ice Armor, Ice Crystal and Electrocute. The essences I use are Veil of Dross, Cold Calculus, Crystalline Shadow, Graves Of The Firmament or Crystal Guards (I haven't decided that yet), Entropic Edge, Dancing Lightning, Scourcut and Ebarin's Visage. The Paragon tree I use is Warden or Ranger (I also haven't decided that yet). Cheers!
So I have used the ice block wiz build as my main pvp build since before they buffed it. I use Heart of The Storm ice armor instead of desentigrate, it is medium range, high damage with a long up time. You can combine this with Crust Claw shoulders for more damage resistance, but I prefer The Perfect Situation shoulders or Spars of Energy to make up for the slower movement speed in the build. I also prefer Novel Castigation pants since Arcane Torrent is your primary damage dealer. The cooldown difference with crystal guards for me is only about 1.5 seconds, vs alot of extra DPS from arcane torrent pants. At any rate, super fun build, works great in the vault.

Lol I just ran this build yesterday and today, great results. Someone in raid chat was like "Wtf are you doing exactly sitting on the steps in a crystal" "hitting absolutely nothing". Clearly doesn't know wtf he was talking about lmfao😂

Would it be possible to use manipulators mask with the ice crystal? You could drop damage, freeze in crystal and when it expires use the slow time as either a way to escape or to launch damage again (enemies would be stunned by the slow time effect)? Timing could be a problem, but maybe not? I haven't tried it, but just exploring some ideas.
If u use the pants which featured lower the cooldown of ice crystal all u need is one dash or teleport if 2 teleport much better then u will be shocked the launch of ice crystal is already available because if u use the pants its only 5 secs
Try warden mage with new slow time with wider range weapon essence…. Its really good ❤
I'd be curious to see you run this build with your warband in endless.
I've been running this build on and off for the last 2 weeks but mixed results basically because of two main issues. Ice Crystal unlike "Ice block" can't be used while CC'ed and more importantly doesn't remove harmful effects.
This essence is super low rank in game where other classes have Immunity skills combined with mobility. The duration of Ice Crystal is no advantage. They should remove this and add 2 seconds immunity to the Teleport or Spritespark.
Also if you are on attacking side, wizard inside the Ice crystal doesn't count as a player on the idol so can't push for its duration.
I appreciate you are looking for the new builds because wizards have been playing Arcane Wind variants for too long. :-) I think a build with disintegrate defence pants and beam summon might stick as a new close combat mage.
Disintegrate summon works much better on PC still. Unbelievable. Devs are braindead

That's a very creative build. Tank wizard lol. If it can avoid the immobilize from the necro that is a big plus. That way you can just sit on the idol and deal damage with torrent and disintegrate.
But the thing is when u cast that ice crystal your character is inside of the ice and elevated he is not touching the ground so if the enemy is near you then the idol will follow the enemy
It would be perfect if that is the case but it is not so u need battling with your mates or else it will be useless
I just tried this build in bg. 14-2-20 and I'm only 2k reso. It's a fun build. Just sitting on idol and watching ppl attacking your ice block to death. 😂
But even if u go to the idol it wont count as u touch it if the enemy goes with the circle that bitch statue will honor them instead
