- Mr Hank the Tank has had some health setbacks recently and lots of people have wanted to know how he's getting on. So Niall sat down with the big guy and explained what's going on with Hank and how we're helping him get better.

Hank is one of my favorite street doggos, I was a wreck when he went to a home that didn't send updates. What a handsome pittie boy. My guess is he's mostly pit, the best kind. He's now officially the LUCKIEST dog on Hope Ave, and couldn't deserve it more. Thank you for being the best furdad ever to exist, Niall.

@2:30 mins. Hip dysplasia , in Germany we call it German Shepherd disease , most older German Shepherds suffer from this bad side effect of German Shepherd breeding.

Hip dysplasia and spondylitis are things that humans commonly get too. Hank’s in the best place possible….with you Niall - to take good care of him.❤
I have the vertebrae issues as Hank does. Ice packs help tremendously. The ice numbs the pain and calms the nerves.

Oh, Hank the Tank is adorable 😍💖 im so happy that he is Niall's personal Dog and Hospice Nurse 😆 for the sick Dog's. He does have a Dogue du Bordeaux Jowels but also a Pitbull but whatever breeds he is, he is a big Handsome Hank. His favourite Food IS.......... All Food😆❤️

You can clearly see how his one hind leg is delayed. His biggest challenge would be to become immobile. Here's to trusting in the drugs for comfort and pain and him knowing his limitations. We want to see him around for many years to come ❤❤❤
Yeah it's the keeping him from doing too much that's the problem. Always a balance between keeping them healthy and keeping them happy.

What a cute goofball! My dog that crossed a few years ago also had spine issues, she started like bunny hopping instead of walking her back legs in front of one another, you wouldn’t know she had any injuries… dogs are just wonderful ❤
Yeah Hank is adapting his walk and way he sits etc. But thats what is causing the problems with spasms then in other areas
@@wearehappydoggo yep.. it’s kind of like dominos, at least that’s what my vet told me. I do hospice fosters bc the older or sicker dogs all want 3 things. 1. Food/Water 2. Soft Bed and 3. Lots and lots of loving. I just lost my 7yr old pit lab mix Peanut to MAST cell cancer last week (a super aggressive one) and she was very stoic much like Hank, you wouldn’t have known she was battling cancer and was in a lot of discomfort, I wonder if that trait is a pit bull thing.
He's a hospice dog! God bless him!

How lovely to see a video all about Hank ❤. I've loved him since watching him with Valentina who he looked after so well. Then to see him being the same with Essy, what a beautiful, gentle soul. Just wonderful to see him so happy living with you Niall, he so deserves a good life and couldn't be with anyone better.

His ears are everything to him! They are incredible ears. I love him so much! He is so beautiful with his big erect ears. Love him! Niall, it’s funny how very special dogs pick you to help further your mission. First it was Tina, now Hank. Protect and comfort the scared and sick dogs that come through. Long Live Hank the Tank!
The Hip Dysplasia is not only due to age. It can be genetic due to poor breeding. It gets expensive with Vet care but that is one of the things you accept when you have an animal. I've had a couple of dogs with it. Hank is such a gentle giant and so lucky to have found you.

My Bosnian rescue also has spondylosis. Vets have told me it often doesn't cause pain in itself but the body compensates for the restricted movement and that can cause pain elsewhere. My pup is around 7/8 too and is chaotic on walks as well. He's an eejit like Hank too. Both gorgeous boys. Thanks for all the info Niall. Hoping Hank has a happy life for many years to come.

Hank is such a loveable goofball. I was definitely say he has Dogue de Bordeaux in him. In terms of his health problems, I'm sure Sybill is on top of it but glucosamine and chondroitin supplements may help slow progress of the spondylosis.
I take celebrex for my spondylosis not every day just if needed. I am 74.

Hi Niall - hip dysplasia and spondyloarthritis are Noel Fitzpatrick's expertise. He's based in London but it might be a good idea for your vet to call Fitzpatrick Referrals & send any xray pictures so they can discuss?

Interestingly my son is 18 and he has just undergone scans to rule out ankylosing spondylitis and axial spondyloarthritis. We were told it often develops as a teen/young adult. Perhaps Hank is younger than you think 🤷♀️ It’s an awful condition, so difficult to manage. He’s so lucky to have you ❤️
