+I Makeup Stuff Well said! My thought exactly! So beautiful ♥ Would absolutely love to be able to wear something like that but with my "spring color palette" complexion I don't think it would suits me at all .. Would love to see a video on the different color palette and the best color for them. Thanks you Lisa xo
Oh my God this makeup is *flawless*! Look at how well the lid matches the blouse! Look at how perfectly on-point is this violet lipstick! I am recently wearing two shades of dark, burgundy-like lipstick, and one darker lilac, and now I suddenly want more violet shades.
I think so many people would love to have a video on brush cleansing! We've seen you use so many of the same brushes time and again, but never quite hear how you keep them so soft and in great condition. I bet a lot of women would like to know if there's a secret to keeping brushes in perfect condition for use, and how to get stains out of bristles, and if there's anything else to brush maintenance. Your brushes look so clean and practically brand new!
K Cook Just wash them with a mild shampoo and rinse with water mixed with a bit of vinegar. Vinegar removes shampoo and limestone residues, and works as disinfectant as well. If you do not have vinegar, lemon juice may work as well. Then squeeze the excess water in a towel and dry them flat or hanging upside down if possible. I’ve been washing my brushes this way for many years now and they still look perfect x
You are the only person I go to for makeup application advice. I love your philosophy on how makeup should look. I like your elegant approach on how makeup should be applied to bring out the real beauty of a person and not to just cover up every characteristic of a face by buffing huge amounts of makeup on. You are amazing, I can see why celebrities choose you as their makeup artist, all of them have always amazing and complimenting makeup.
Lisa, I love your videos and this one in particular! Just one advice, though. In my humble opinion, I think you should put either your hands behind the white brushes or show them in a different way, because I could hardly see the white makeup brushes. Maybe because of the white wall and the bright white lights. Thank you for another amazing video!
Lisa, can you do an UPDATED (2nd edition) FAVORITE BRUSHES VIDEO? I have gone through all of your videos and actually purchased each and every brush you’ve linked and used, it’s become almost a “comfort food” of mine to collect the tools you use! I would love to see your 2022 recent favorite brushes, and see if any of my favorites happen to be your favorites as well! Thank you for everything you do and for keeping this toddler mama’s mind constantly thinking and challenging me to be my best self and stay creative! I love you, Lisa!
This make up look is so unbelievably glamorous and modern.. like from a movie... what an unbelievable sense of Style Lisa has... unique and Immense.. th eye shadow is as if the lips blew air to them and a tiny amount of color went there too from the lips... it is AMAZING.. this isnt Talent Lisa has, it is UNBELIEVABLE
So nice to see the positive response to your makeup look here. I am 42 and getting sick of so many videos saying that at the magic age of 40 that I should wear matte neutrals. I have always had a personality to go with some bolder looks but now I am feeling intimidated into dulling it all down because i don't want to look like a fool unaware of how color looks on me. You look fabulous here!
Wow, your lipstick is insane! You're probably the only person in the world who can pull it off while still looking absolutely classy. I'm always full of joy when I see one of your videos in my feed. Thanks!! x
Lisa I absolutely adore your new book! I've always been fascinated with the culture and psychology behind cosmetics and found this book so informative and fun to read. I especially loved learning all the beauty secrets from the various 'makeup muses' . This is the kind of book I find myself going back to over and over again. Thank you for this gem
Wow! You look so mesmerizing in this video. I think the eye/lip combo was great!! I enjoyed knowing your favorite brushes. The only thing was some were very hard to see, due to them being white or having white tips over a white background. Not complaining just letting you know from this side. Love ya, Hugs. :)
Thank heavens for Lisa Eldridge, to the rescue once again to tell us that one size does not fit all! So happy to finally learn that not every "HG" or coveted makeup brush is ideal for every face or eye shape! Thank you!
Your make up here is fantastic. At first glance it is the lipstick that makes the look, but it actually isn t. It s the eye make up which really gives the stunning effect, more exactly: the exact placement of the darker shadow.
I'm so happy that you mention art brushes to be used as your makeup brushes because i actually have a bunch that i use to do my makeup and felt weird for doing so lol! Only problem i have with them is the handles being extremely long, but nothing a saw can't fix
In love with your skin and how healthy and stunning you look, I think it'd be amazing if you made a video on how to take care of neck skin, since it tends to loose elasticity quickly and almost no one talks about it.
I'll add a third! I feel like your advice on products for cleaning different types of brushes and products would be super helpful since you must wash your brushes all the time for clients, etc! I have a hard time properly cleaning my sigma f80 foundation brush because of its density - the oily residue tends to make the bristles clump up a little bit. Also, my eyeshadow brushes (Mac 217, larger blending brushes, anything with natural hair really) get dry and brittle. Love you Lisa! And loved this video 😃
+Erin Monk A tip I received recently from a fellow makeup artist is to use any bar of soap, the cheaper the better, especially in regards to synthetic bristles. I've been doing it ever since, and it really is the only thing that gets foundation out! I was using Clean brush shampoo in the goats milk version which does remove foundation well too, but then realized I was paying 5x the price for what is a essentially a var if soap haha. One advantage to the Clean shampoo is that it is gentler on natural bristles and keeps them softer.
As an artist that i am, i love using the art brushes to do make up! Especially any synthetic brushes like for concealer or even lipstick, they work wonderful. And also, the watercolor brushes for blending are amazing cos they're soft and have that nice dome/slanted shape. Only downside is the super long handles, but nothing a good saw can't deal with.
Loved your original brush video so happy to see an update! Makeup brushes are my 'thing' - people are definitely shocked when they see how many I've got! But hey I'm a Makeup artist I need them ;) would definitely love a short video on your favourite ways to wash brushes! I hear so many mixed opinions on what deep cleaning product to use and want to hear your favourite!
Could barely pay attention to what you were saying as your make-up is SO COOL! Wish make-up counter girls wore such bold looks as it screams "I'm a PRO" :)
I loved how you linked every single brush in your description. You always put in extra effort in all of your videos! So thank you. Also, your makeup is flawless today.
I've bought so many things that you use or recommend in your videos, a realization I've come to but my absolute favorite is that Suqqu cheek brush. It really is amazing. You can't get Suqqu here but as luck would have it my husband was passing through Tokyo on his way to Korea and I had to get it. It makes all blushes look lovely and it really does feel like a "kitten's paw." Thank you!
As a MUA I was taught and agreed that most of our brushes are crafted in France and buying a brush from a Makeup brand was a no no...the mark up was immense and the quality no better than professional brushes and even craft shop. For my personal use I love Tom Ford(Hakudodu), Chanel (#2 is my fav), MUFE and Rae Morris... I love feeling LUXE. For professional use I LOVED Billy B. and Zoeva. I really want a Paula Dorf crease brush..I LOVE the point! Grey squirrel happen to be my fav and the line of Rae Morris brushes I LOVE!
Each and every video of yours, inspires me so much! I hope you know how much of a positive influence you are on beauty enthusiasts all over the world. Greetings from U.A.E.
your look in this video - well, in every video actually - is AMAZING!!!! it suits you and the eye make up is perfect with those plum lips!!! you are able to be the most elegant and chic even if with such a strong lip colour!!! we love you lisa, you're the best!!!
That applying foundation and then buffing brushes for this and for that at the stat - I feel like Rae Morris radiance brush just does both for any size of the face.
Hi Lisa, Can you please create a video on: How you clean your brushes, how often do you clean them, and what do you usually do to your brushes between clients.. Do you clean them completely or only use alcohol.. ?! What is the best way to take care of them.. Thumb up the comment so Lisa can see it.
Is there anything Lisa can not make look gorgeous? That lip? I'm not even a purple fan and I feel like I must have that lip color! And from a hairstylist perspective, I feel like I need to do that ponytail on a client tomorrow - so soft and chic. Love.
Wow! Because of your fave makeup brushes video 4 years ago, I discovered SUQQU and I became crazy about japanese hand crafted brushes. I got all suqqu brushes except suqqu eyeshadow s because it was already discontinued. I also hope they bring that unicorn brush back.
I LOVE this video- saw it years ago and it is still perfectly relevant. That is the thing about Lisa Eldridge- you and your artistry is timeless and classic :) xoxox Also- that lipstick is pretty bangin"!! what is it???
Thank you for this informative tutorial! I would love to see a tutorial of under eye concealing and baking! And a sculpting/conturing tutorial with powder and creamy concealer! Thank you.
As always very awesome informative video but this time I want to be this one more person begging for this makeup tutorial and list of products you used! Much love. Xx
hi lisa! i use 8 or 9 brushes in my kit. I have 3 of each. And my favourite is a brush that was coming in a makeup playset I had bought for my daughter. I keep it like gold! I don't know if you believe in these things but I feel that some brushes bring me luck.. I have 3 pencil brushes by Zoeva but the first one I bought when I use it the makeup comes out so beautiful. Loved this video, but could not stop getting distracted by your amazing makeup!
+I Makeup Stuff I know! That lipstick!!!
+I Makeup Stuff Exactly what I thought when I saw the thumbnail.

totally agree
i agree too
Thought the same!
+Renata Ikonora Yes, I too was a little frustrated to not be able to see the white bristles against the white background of the studio wall!
So it wasn't me just going blind! Whew!
Love that you go into the why and how of each tool. I always feel like I get makeup theory lessons from you. 🐱
That lipstick looks amazing on you!
That LIPSTICK! Perfection X
I'm sorry were you saying something??
I was staring at your makeup.
hehe same she looks amazing in this video
+JesseLCH Very true. I was listening to Lisa, but I was focused on her lips moving...
lol same. Something about brushes. I was watching her lips like a cat watches a laser pointer.
Lisa is so gorgeous!
JesseLCH I was mesmerized by her lip color! 💜
LOVE Love that you went for a more risky look, rather than your natural neutral makeup! You look flawless Lisa! ♥
Looking particularly spectacular with this look. Am loving the well-done colouring overall.
YES! Cool Tones! I'm loving this frosty look. So beautiful!

+Anna O glad you like it too, its my staple small face buffer now X
OMG THIS LIPSTICK, THIS MAKEUP, EVERYTHING. O M G. SO GORGEOUUUUUS
Totally having a hard time paying attention to your video because your makeup is fierce! I love this look on you!!!
That happens to me as well
You look remarkable in purple lipstick. I'm slightly mesmerized by it.
This make up look is so unbelievably glamorous and modern.. like from a movie... what an unbelievable sense of Style Lisa has... unique and Immense.. th eye shadow is as if the lips blew air to them and a tiny amount of color went there too from the lips... it is AMAZING.. this isnt Talent Lisa has, it is UNBELIEVABLE
you're so gorgeous! looooooove this lip color
I LOVE your makeup look in this video!! The lips are such a bold statement, and the shimmering eyeshadow is so flattering :) I'm in love!!
I AGREE!

An updated ALL TIME FAVOURITE MAKE UP Please, Lisa!
It's been a long time ;-)
Lisa... I was in selfridge's last week, and they're bringing back the suqqu S eye brush!
+Shelly Rhian Adeline Great news! X
When will it be released?
Suqqu Squirrel brush is available in Harrods, selfridges does the goats hair, lisa’s suqqu brushes are squirrel

Got half way through the video then realised I wasn't listening to a word because all I could think about was how badass that makeup look is. LOVE 😍

one of my absolute favourite makeup looks you've worn! definitely would love a tutorial on it

This lip colour is to die for, it looks stunning on you!

+Carly Lim thanks for the info! I might try dr bronners bar soap...
And your book is FABULOUS. couldn't put it down!
Yes Suqqu...I NEED to try one! I usually start with a blending/crease brush or buffing brush to trial performance!
It was hard to pay attention I was so mesmerized by your lipstick! You go girl!
Lisa I'm impressed with this makeup! Very 90s, it recalled to my mind the fabolous TLC!

I love dark lipstick on pale skin, it looks so beautiful 😊
Without sound creepy, you look stunning. You are such an artist. Your eyes, wow!
Wow. Lisa - you look stunning with the purple lip. The whole look is incredible, and you're looking so young! x
Everyone has already said this, but your makeup is flawless!
Love seeing you with that type of make up. We don't see it often but you pull it off so well. Xoxo
Could barely pay attention to what you were saying as your make-up is SO COOL! Wish make-up counter girls wore such bold looks as it screams "I'm a PRO" :)
Love the eye/lip combination Lisa.
I need to get those Zoeva brushes!
Please do a tutorial on the makeup that you are wearing. I love it. I love the lipstick.

My goodness... your make up is gorgeous! ❤️ I can’t concentrate on anything else 🤩
I've never thought that anyone could look good in purple lipstick.. but I WAS WRONG! Lisa, you're magician :)
When you wear dark purple lipstick one day, then Lisa Eldridge wears it in her video.....you fell chic AF.
*feel curse you autocorrect.
+Lori Funorie ; )
+Lori Funorie it was chic until you said AF
+shanzie Oh lighten up.
Oh my god! What a beautiful makeup look! Please make a video on it
hi lisa! i use 8 or 9 brushes in my kit. It is like magic this brush.
Was introduced through your videos to Zoeva brushes and they are amazing!!
So helpful! I'm always looking for the perfect brushes
Lisa! You are my favorite makeup artist that I currently follow on YT. You have an elegance in your approach that is at times perfectly restrained and at others gleefully funky and fresh (but always refined). XO -- Thank you for your videos.
I think it would be so interesting to see some more videos on your kit
