  • The Norco Range VLT is by far our heaviest eMTB on test but with a 900Wh battery and 170mm of travel out back, the Range should be able to handle anything. So, how did the carbon monster truck hold up at Sun Peaks? Watch and find out.

    Compared to the last Range VLT how does it feel ? LOOOVE my 2020 last gen , but the bigger and removable battery is a big plus for me on the new gen . I am 5'8 ish and currently ride a large VLT , wondering if I need a medium in the new gen ? Great reviews and love the channel

  • @dimimtb
    @dimimtb Před 2 lety +3

    It's interesting that Norco has made all of their bikes heavier overall for both e and regular. I wonder if that is in response to some frame issues they had a few years ago and the added weight is to reduce frame snapping risks on these bigger burlier bikes. Maybe warranty shy for breaking frames? Just a guess really.

    Hey guys & viewers, I am seriously considering this bike in SMALL but you confirmed my concern about the chainstay. Issue is finding a bike with a short enough standover height to accommodate 27” pant inseam. I bought some men’s Five Ten Sam Hill flat peddle shoes to give me some more height to increase my bike options. Any bike suggestions? This will be my 1st ebike but I want to keep up with my husband on his Kenevo Expert. Ideal reach is 405-415 and standover ideally would be under 700 but yeah good luck not much out there. Wish someone would make a low step full suspension quality bike for us shorties. ;-)

    I will never buy an E-bike with a Shimano motor again unless the change the charging port. The charging port cover latch brakes after 4-5 charger and is very difficult to close the cover. I had to fiddle with it today for over 10 minutes, just to close the cover. The charging connector is very difficult to insets and even more so to unplug. I had banged my knuckles more than once, trying to disconnect the cable. You need to apply an excessive force in order to disconnect the cable. But the most annoying thing is that there is no charging status while charging. The display is dead during charging, there is no battery percentage or any other indication that the bike is charging and it take forever to fully charge the battery.

    • @pgson8929
      @pgson8929 Před 2 lety

      Hi mate. I have this bike obviously with the shimano ep8. I have noticed there is a charge indicator on the actual battery near the plug. Its a circle made of around 5 little LED's. You do have to bend down and look in the little hatch though.

    People, it's time to start normalizing dual crown forks on E-bikes. A 180 mm fork on a 56 pound bike with one crown is just silly

    • @s14tat
      @s14tat Před 2 lety +3

      Problem is that a e bike is more for all around trail riding including tight up hill switch backs. With a double crown, you can't lean the bike down on the tight up hills so you have to rely on just turning the bars and you have very limited range.

    • @RCKING1
      @RCKING1 Před 2 lety +1

      100%. I run a duel crown on my standard enduro. 15mm axel on a 180mm 29er fork is just non sense. Mix that with all the flex and fixed bushings and damn your fork feels piss poor.

    • @omnomnom1391
      @omnomnom1391 Před 2 lety +2

      @@lilBennie1029 you really need to try an emtb, similar to the ones pinkbike tested, it might change your mind.
      The emtbs are nowhere powerfull enough to rost trails. you should know that the motor only amplifies the pedaling motion when pedaling, and turns off the moment you stop pedaling, and only works up to 25 kmph.
      What you're really mad about is aggressive mtb riders, an emtb is just as destructive as a heavy rider on a downhill bike.

      I dont own a emtb but I can promise you its not the ebikes causing trail maintenance issues. Its bikers riding trails in bad conditions- if ur leaving ruts, its too wet too ride. Most ebikers are princesses that dont ride anything but perfect conditions.
