  • In this video, I'll show you how to fix a LG Washing Machine that won't start or power on. This can be the noise filter or mother board causing the issue most of the time. Other times it can be the interfacing buttons themselves. Once corrected, a good quality surge protector can keep most of these issues at bay going forward.

    ONE OF YOUR COMMENTS SAVED ME A SERVICE CALL. I just wet and placed the plastic hose end connected to my 650 Pound pressure LAB HELD VACUUM PUMP onto the ON Button on my 4 year broken LG WASHER front panel.
    Now my LG Washer is working again! The ON Button needed to be pumped up. 😁

Definite proof that was what I replaced last time. Oh, I shortcutted by checkig the fuse on the board. Same issue as last time.

    No that’s not always the problem. The problem is that we use it the wrong way. It’s a sensor start button but people who install the machine especially from the big bug stores don’t understand the importance to perfectly level the machine. If the
    poorly leveled machine keeps being used the start button would not turn on. I pushed the machine turned on. For all who want to do it yourself check the foam of the start button before you order the expensive parts. Usually electric parts are okay. The issue is the poorly leveled installation. Yes most of the time it’s the sensor foam but people don’t talk about it.

    You are officially my hero. I have this LG WT7600HWA model and needed to replace the water level pressure switch, but access was different on all other videos, because they were older models. So glad I dug deeper and found your video. You are the only one who showed how to remove the first top white panel in the rear. My washer started filling to the top, agitating and then draining and spinning. 4+ years of regular use and this was the first issue. Bought my part locally from Leo's Appliance Parts. He has been in business 37 years. Love to support local if I can. Following your directions to lift and pull off made the cover popped right off and I am running a load as I type. Replacing the water level presser switch was the easy part. Thank you. I just subscribed and I will visit your site on my next repair need.

      @@joshcobb4100 Josh, Should I be getting 12 Volts DC at the orange and the black plugs going into the motherboard to power it? (the noise filter passes - it connects through the coil just like in your test). The question is: Why am I NOT getting any voltage at the plugs going into the mother board. If I had voltage there, going into the motherboard, I would be 100% sure it is in fact the mother board. I had a mouse visit the area under the back panel and I am now checking all wires to make sure they are NOT bit through. I have a feeling that she cut one of the wires snacking on.

    Did your test, did not find a bad filter, reset connections on main board and it starts again. Thanks for a great video that worked for me. Mine is a LT7300CW, very similar. I have the same wt7300cw mo😮del as you. We bought it in May of 2019 . After the 1st yr of use the no power happened once and I unplug n plug back and good to go . After 2 nd year, it happened a few times then same fix. 3rd year, it is more often and I called an repair man for 75$ and he said it's the start button is kinda pushed in and he fiddled with it and power back. Until 5 yrs now, no power problem happening more frequently, sometimes unplugged for a week then power back on. Its very frustrating, so this week we are debating to buy a new machine or try to open the panel and fix ourself. I think it's the power button problem.
      Is you machine still working now?

  • @stevensteffey6549
    @stevensteffey6549 Před 8 měsíci +3

    I would say most of the time it's not the control panel ....its the start button of the control panel. There's a little square foam pad with a very thin metallic strip going around it. What happens is that little piece of form compresses from continual use and after a while, no longer comes back to its original shape therefore cannot make contact, when you push the front of the control panel. And I fixed it by simply just replacing the foam pad with layers of aluminum foil super glue together and you can put a couple pieces of aluminum foil on the control panel side where it touches and superglue them together until you get the right thickness. Works perfectly. if you happen to have the start button that does not have the form square pad, but has the pin made of metal or plastic you can just loosely wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the pan and it will help it make a better contact and it should work fine.

      If it looks burnt, I wouldn't be surprised if that is the issue. My washer stopped working (with my clothes locked in the water, which I luckily got unlocked) so I opened up the top panel. When I got to the PCB, it became very obvious that multiple things had burnt out and leaked the gross brown liquid (electrolytic fluid) around them. I have one arriving in the mail and will be replacing it in a few days. I still need to check my noise filter, since those can sometimes go out and cause the damage to the PCB.

    as far as the elite front loader I have continuity all the way through the noise filter. This one has a user interface on the front and a control board on the back. There is continuity through the control board fuse. Could it be the front interface or a fuse in the interface? It just would not power on. No warning signs.

    Our top load LG washer with the agitator has a Power Button that no longer works no matter how hard we press it. It progressively became harder and harder to push until last week when it now no longer turns on at all. Another video on CZcams explained that it most likely has to do with the button mechanism (there's a piece of foam that activates the power when the button is pushed). Since we are within the year warranty we called up the repairman who came and said it is a very common issue and he ordered a whole new control board and display panel. So the repairman came and ordered a new control panel and display board for our washing machine. When we unwrapped it a service bulletin fell out explaining to the tech what to do (so this is obviously a common issue that LG is aware of). Interestingly enough, it appears that they have updated the button mechanism, there is no foam to be found it looks as if it is now a spring instead. So, I am happy to see that there is no foam to get crushed or break down, however the display panel doesn't have much flex so it is going to be interesting to see the how it will work when the repairman swaps everything out. I will update you with the results tomorrow. BTW the service bulletin advises not to change the display panel unless necessary, but we will leave that up to the repairman.
    The panel has a part number of: AGL76194027
    PCB Complex: EBR86498808
    We have the top loader with the agitator: WT7305CV

      @@joshcobb4100 Sorry forgot to update as life got busy. When the second repairman came to put the new parts on he explained that the issue involves the display panel letting in too much light and therefore not activating the button since it couldn't "sense" the finger as it was letting in too much light. I have no idea what he was talking about. He replaced both the display panel and the control board and the machine works fine for now. Something definitely changed though as our machine just doesn't sound the same anymore, it's much louder on the final drain and spin. There were no foam pieces on the old control board or the new one, I honestly don't understand how it works since the display has practically no flex to it.

    I have a slightly older LG top load, and it died at the end of a cycle with the lid locked. I used a multimeter to check the incoming and outgoing voltage of the noise filters and it was 117.9v. I replaced the main board and it worked fine for 10 days, and then did the same thing. The board is being replaced under warranty, but I’m afraid it’s gonna do the same thing again. What other things can cause that main board to die like that? Both times the exact same way.

    • @joshcobb4100
      @joshcobb4100  Před měsícem

      If you’re not getting a power signal to the drain pump from the control board likely it’s a bad control board. If you have a voltmeter, you can verify no voltage is going to the drain pump at the point in the cycle when it should be draining. If you tested at the board and it is outputting power, you might have a break or bad connection in your wiring. Most commonly the control board is faulty. However, I have seen some washers when the shocks go bad and bounce around it can break the connectors that go onto the pump. You might check and make sure the ends are not broken at the connector.
