Playing the original Gothic after all these years still blows my mind how ahead of its times that game was back in the day. It still is the most beloved game of my childhood. Can't wait for this remake.

So glad that Kai Rosenkrankz is back on the team, also glad that he is still using "Herr Mannelig" as the Leitmotif for the old camp. Maybe we even get another rendition of a certain medieval folkmetal band? Pretty please? :D:D I wasnt impressed with the playable teaser but this already looks so much more promising (except for the heat distortion, that looks horrilbe). Gothic is basically the first game that I really fell in love with, so seeing it revived means a lot to me. This is the time to redeem what JoWood destroyed.
Gothic was the best thing in those times. The first game that i was in awe how big it is. Those big castle doors with red flags, the muddy streets... yeah Gothic 1 is back.

Please dont make it too easy, the beauty of gothic is that it does not treat you like a fool "you are a hero who will save the world from the start, now bring me 3 brooms and 5 apples" It is a game that spits in your face becouse you are no one, then you do favors to build relationships, bribe guards to even enter the city, its hard and dark, survival of the finest, not "im the boss of this world and this is my playground"
Doubt it would be Gothic-level difficult. It's made by an unknown Spanish team under THQ so they'll probably want it a tad more streamlined for the modern generation.
Nie mogę się doczekać aż pokażecie rozgrywkę. Taką animacje to ja też sobie potrafię zrobić i były już takie przypadki że gra na zapowiedziach wygladała zupełnie inaczej niż po wydaniu.
You are on a right track with this one. After I played the demo I was sure this would be a disaster because the atmosphere was totally different.. but man this is on point. Just please for the love of god, revamp the combat and fix the lighting. Good luck!
GOTHIC 1 AND 2 were fabulous games when they came out. I spent hundreds of hours playing them. I was amazed every time I played, everything seemed real and natural at that time.

A little bit more difference in accents like in Gothic I, better colour contrast (less grey), and the removal of the fire lizard from the arena, and you are on your way! Fingers crossed, the Gothic Formula comes before tweaks! 🙏 🔵

This game was my and my sister's childhood :-D We've spend a lot of time in this game and it was worth it :-D She is hyped for the remake as we have trouble running the old games on new machines T_T

Looks great. Feel like Gothic. I'm playing through it right now, so, it's fresh in my memory. Lots of little things honoring the OG game. It'll hopefully be like the Mafia remake. Faithful, but modern. 1:28 They need to fix the transparency on the heat wave/smoke above the fire. Looks weird.
This is like a mix of Kingdom Come and the Witcher and although they are great games, I don't know how I feel about Gothic looking and *sounding* like this.

This sound is older than you think and were used in many productions in film industry before Gothic was even created

0:36 small but interesting detail, the pickpocket was checking the digger if he had anything to steal but saw nothing so didn't take the risk.
