The scented and no plumping is my favorite category. I’m with you, I don’t want scent in most makeup, but I love a scented lip gloss/oil/balm. It just makes the experience so nice!
To me the worst one of the bunch is the Gisou. I’m not Mrs La Mer, but all that one did was lighten your wallet. The Gisou has not only given you a complex, but also brand new on-camera fear! To me, this puts it in the dog house with Supergoop.
That is so so so true. La Mer just cost a lot of money. Gisou is probably going to give me a bill with a therapist. Honestly honestly. You will notice now that as I’m talking I will kind of put my hands up by my lips to make sure whatever is on my lips is not the corners of my mouth like some sort of monster. Ha ha ha

I am so glad. CZcams likes us to make longer videos. So I kind of have to do it to get noticed but I know people get so worried about getting the information they need when they’re in a hurry so I really try to make them in depth and I’m so grateful that they are helpful

My friend said the same thing about the Gisou. She actually returned it. Not only did it gather in the corners of her mouth, it made a whitish ring around the inner lip line. 🤢 My favorites are; an oldie… Victoria Beckham, then the Guerlain honey lip oil, and YSL love shine lip oil stick. And, lastly Sisley-Paris Phyto Rouge Shine which isn’t advertised as a balm but a very hydrating lip product loaded with hyaluronic acid and Konjac Glucomannan. Of course the Sisley is the most expensive of these at $ 65.00 a tube and $50.00 for refills. My favorite shade is #12, Sheer Cocoa - a slightly red brown .❤️🤗❤️
Sisley! I have always wanted to try that one. Who was it in comments who told me that her mother actually stopped and tossed the Gisou into the trashcan because it kept gathering on the sides of her lips

There’s just something about that kiss kiss, the way the bottle looks kind of melted and the thick little applicator and the goopy gloss. It’s honestly just delightful
Great roundup, Rebecca! Hanging with you is so fun...you crack me up! 😂 Since you dig the 2Faced lip glosses, have you ever tried the lip oils from InnBeauty Project at Sephora? They are on the more affordable side and they have a thick (not sticky) texture that lasts on the lips and their scents/flavors are to die for PLUS the applicator is perfection! They release new flavors all the time. If you haven't tried them, i highly recommend throwing one in with your next Sephora order. They are so lovely. ❤❤❤

Super helpful content. Regarding YSL, I agree that their rebranding and packaging have been confusing. Their Volupte formula (now Lip Shine) is ok. However, the Candy Glaze is definitely one of my favorites. It is more of a balm with a glossy finish. Feels like butter! Thanks for the heads up on La Mer low quality and ridiculous pricing. You took another one for the team! Love your work......made my Sunday morning even more delightful!

I really do love those Guerlain Honey Glow Lip Oils! And I did pass on the La Mer gloss. I find the Ole Hendrickson has a weird taste. I prefer the Nurturium and the Sunday Friday (I know they weren’t released this year). I’m still a big fan of the Dior lip oils and the Givenchy glosses (the ones that look swirly in the glass). I do like the new Charlotte Tilbury, but it irritates my lips (NOT a fan of those plumping formulas). Truthfully, there are more than enough choices for EVERYONE’s preferences! Looking forward to the foundation round up!

I took the Gisou out of my cart after your review. No way I want that kind of situation going on. So for that I thank you! I just received the Armani this week, but haven't worn it yet. Looks pretty! I love the ones that tingle like the Buxom glosses (still my fave and i think one of the OG lip plumpers maybe?). I have heard a few people that have not had trouble with the GISOU but… But… More than Not are telling me that they had the exact same issue so, I hate to say this, but I am glad you took it out of your cart
I love the new pinker roses! I think it needed that contrast between the holder and the roses. as for lip glosses, I think you should never overpay for those because there's really not a lot of difference between the high priced one and cheaper ones. You just don't get your money out of it.
I like the darker roses also! Yes. They really are a few products that can be done much more cheaply and drugstore is catching up to high-end and luxury very quickly. You know I think mascara is another one

I really love the City Lips plumping gloss - it doesn't give me any tingle, but LASTS and LASTS and feels fantastically moisturizing (much preferred to Laneige at bedtime).
I also like Haus labs Atomic gloss - the 6 colors are good and it too lasts while doing whatever - there's just not enough of a shade selection. A tiny bit of transfer but no feathering.
Your remarks about the LaMer - IQ test - had me rolling! 🤣🤣🤣

I love the city lips too. I tend to use the clear when I’m doing a really beautiful precise make up look. I will put it on before I even do the rest of my make up so that my lips are prepped

If so, I'd so LOVE to see what they look like if you swirled the brush in all three stripes to get one bronzy glowy blush that you could put on your skin, rather than having to go into the stripes individually. xxxx

I really do love that little bottle and the way it spoons its little little bottle next to it but that’s where the love ends unfortunately
My all time fav is the Dior lip oils. I like them over the Guerlain because they have no flavor or fragrance. I got the GXVE during the Sephora sale and that was so nice I bought a second color! Now, not available at Sephora, I bought my first ever Jeffree Star product, the coffee drip lip oil and OMG.... If you love coffee, go order the coffee drip lip oil. It's a thin lip oil and doesn't last long but your lips will smell like yummy coffee!! Yep, I bought a back up!
Coffee drip? That is definitely delicious sounding. I will have to pick that up for sure. The Dior really are amazing but other than some shade extensions, nothing yet this year. Beautiful shade extensions but not new in the formula so they couldn’t make my list. But they probably would be right at the top.
I picked up 3 of the new bronze shade lip oils from Selfridges. Along with the bronze blush and bronze maximizer.... See a pattern here??? 😂

I got 2 shades of the Guerlain lip oils (honey glow and poppy glow, but they have pH adjusting thing to them and they go pink/cool purple hue on me 😢 we can't return makeup in my country so I'll give them away to a friend
You are not the first person who’s mentioned this. I did not have them do a pH shift on me but many people are telling me that it did on them. I need to research that a bit more

Hi dear Rebecca, the roses are super beautiful!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩And you know i'm always honest, but with flowers i'm spoiled, we swimm in them here in The Netherlands. But such a beautiful arrangement!!!! Lips? Are super sensitive too, especially since certain meds from the pulmonologist, so, first comes my care products, most loved: Chantecaille Lip Potion, also gives a beautiful shine, or is it sheen? Sorry if my English is not good, dear. Most used at night, and this Chantecaille stuff healed cracked mourth corners last year summer. Further i became addicted to Sol de Janeiro Lip Balm, i choose it over the Drunk Elephant now, for during the day, it's a bit better priced, and even better. What i reallly love are the coloured lip oils, did not try so many, but loved Clarins, Dior and Ilia. Lipgloss, mostly Pat McGrath, her lightest colours, i don't love trends with lips. And i refuse to use stuff that hurts my lips. Coloured lip balms, the Chantecaille is soooo soft!!! Love these type of lip products, well, only the ones that do not cause pain, the most, i never wear lipstick, i only have the CT Dancefloor Princess and the newer one, the formula was strange, forgot the name. Ohh and U Beauty, i liked, it's a like, as i cannot always wear this, depends on my lip condition, but very nice effective product, makes the lips even and soft when there is consistancy, something with beauty products, i'm not always good at/in. Is it good at or good in? But you understand my EU English, thanks!!! That Claudio Riaz looked glorious 2 or 3 video's ago, please kick that brand to Europe!!! Wishing you a wonderful day!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have discovered the newly formulated nars glosses (no tingle) and they have dethroned my VBB glosses and dior lip maximiser (not a fan of tingling formula, but these ones I can handle)

So what was that - everyone should quickly run to buy La Mer? 😂 My fave of the bunch is Armani, I have 2. You know what’s a dealbreaker for me? Squeezy tubes, I feel about those like you feel about Gisou. I have one from Summer Fridays and applying it from the tube is the goopiest experience, so I need to use my fingers and that’s goopy too so I gave up on squeezy tubes.
Yes. The other problem was squeezy tubes is that, as you start to run out of product, it’s kind of hard to know because they puff themselves back out. This makes you PRESS a little too hard and then it goes everywhere. I’m on board with this critique for sure

I agree with everything you said🙃 I don't own a lot of them, but I hate tingley lip glosses. I bought a Claudio Riaz at your recommendation and the shade is different than expected(no one with real swatches yet), but it is lovely. I have it on right now. Feels good, the color payoff is great, and longevity well we'll see, but it's a gloss so what do you expect?
True. There’s no gloss that quite last long enough. I think that’s why I like a pretty one when I bring it out of my bag because I have to bring it out so often.

I have the Guerlian lipstick which I love and want to try the oils. I can’t wait for the foundation video.
My overall favorite foundation is Prada but I use sparingly due to expense. Also love Chanel les beiges water touch ( whatever the name is) for the summer months coming. Can’t wait!
I actually like the Tom Ford. So don’t fear. It’s just that it does turn your lips are crazy kind of pink.

I tried their foundation and I hated it and I was describing how awful it was and how it separated in the bottle and someone, in comments, said that just doesn’t sound like the brand and they wondered if I had ended up purchasing one where someone had bought it, poured it out and filled it with something much less pricey and returned it and I can’t get that out of my head
I like the tingle if it doesn't tingle its not working.

For gloss haters, I think a lip oil is the best because it is nice and thin. Merit has a very good one as well as addiction Tokyo and try the Charlotte Tilbury lip oil. The one with the roller ball. It is extremely thin

It's so funny because I've never tried the gucci lip gloss but you described it as old cigs in the fabric smell? I totally know that smell!! It's nauseating to me LOL.
I think those who are super young won’t necessarily remember it because they didn’t grow up in a world where there were so many smokers and so there would be so much trapped smoke in old fabric

Well, if we REALLY want dewy beyond measure, I suppose it has to be the Jones Road What the Foundation. Chantecaille has one too just like that. In a jar and just all glow. Foundations in a bottle that are glowy are like the new MUFE HD skin hyrdra glow, MAC Studio Radiance Serum Foundation, or even, honestly using either the Auric Glow Lust or the Charlotte Hollywood Flawless Finish in place of foundation! All really good choices!
How do the gurlain lip oils compare to the Dior lip oil
I think Dior really makes the best lip oil out there to be honest. They just did shade extensions so so far in 2024 so I wasn’t able to include them as it’s not a new formula but they really are the queen of it

GiSOU did not gather in the corners of their lips. But many have told me it does. If you do try it and don’t return it or anything like that. Please report back on your findings. It also depends on the shade. The darker ones are more likely to do it.

I had a slight numbing feeling to the armani gloss and can't figure out what the ingredient is. kackie was the one who originally mentioned it and then i experienced it when i purchased it, but ive only seen 1 review so far mention a 'tingle'. so strange lol

Lol) it’s shiny glittery and it’s perfect over pink or nude lip liners and it tastes incredible I LOVE the vanillas 🤣 I do not like plumbers or mint … I’m loving the KOSAS wet stick balm I had dry lips and put it on and it made my lips so smooth and soft it’s a new favorite!

Gisou is my favorite oil/gloss right now. It doesn't seem to gather on me (I kept checking 🧐), as a matter of fact it stays in place on my lips better than most. And I apply a good amount BUT I feel like because of the applicator (not a typical thick sponge) it could cause one to over apply?? I'm not sure. I got the light pink with sparkle, which to me is a tiny bit less slippery than the cherry (I purchased next). I have medium sized dry lips so I use lip products all day long and I really like this formula! 🤍
No issues with the lighter shade. It’s when it gets deeper that the gross begins . Haha.
