Reading week by week it was straight up INSANE
He skipped so much. That mini arc filler thing after Dressrosa with Luffy kidnapped and taken to that small island with the dude (forgot his name even) can smelt stuff or whatever.
He forgot characters like Raizo, koju (or whatever the paint brush samruai), Tamago, Brulee, Whiteboards stupid so called 'son'.

Also, I think some people will not like your Zou take. Especially since it's the arc where we learn about the Road Poneglyphs and had the emotional "Raizo is Safe" moment.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it! I agree the Raizo is safe panel is cool, but whenever I saw people talking online about the road poneglyphs they were complaining about them so I thought they were disliked. I could never tell why though
First part was really fun but listening through all this really makes me want to continue my reread now lol. I think dream's the perfect word to encapsulate the entire series, and it really does feel like a playground of ideas. Oda's been putting together ideas for this little pirate story since like grade school, and he's actually gotten to explore a bunch of them and more with this. Truly a creative's dream project.
It's definitely my favorite thing about One Piece. Everyone has grand ideas for stories and all that but few ever get to fully realize them, and none on the scale that Oda is doing it at

I like this video (and the other one you've done about One Piece) so much that I wish you would've done videos by arcs or sagas and went into more detail about things.
I'm also glad you made your own opinion of the arcs. One Piece community is usually very wholesome and welcoming, but it's kind of "toxic" in contaminating their general opinion of arcs. "Ooh, you won't like arc X, and arc Y is the best out there", just let people make up their own minds without projecting your bias and tampering with newcomers' expectations. Skypiea, Thriller Bark and Fishman Island usually get a lot of hate (Punk Hazard also gets a lot of general dislike) and I think they are all great. You're allowed to like usually disliked arcs and not find usually acclaimed ones (like Zou) that great. My personal top 3 is Water 7/Enies Lobby, Whole Cake Island and Sabaody.
Loving that Sanji love, he's my favourite character. I find him the most complex, layered, nuanced and well-written one. I kind of think that it's Oda's own projection into the story, given the bits and pieces we get from the SBS once in a while.
Please come up with more One Piece content! Love your videos (glad to see you're a Hyouka fan, for example, among other cool anime), keep it up!

One piece is one of my favorite pieces of media ever created. The only thing I can say I like more than it is clannad, but one piece is definitely tied for second place with several other things
8:36 it’s like, the biggest ship every built. It’s supposed to carry every fishman up to the surface and it’s pulled by sea monsters, Luffy not being able to destroy it right away is fine.
Luffy knocked out 50,000 fishmen with his Conquerers Haki. That's the most impressive display of Conquerers we have seen up to that point. Luffy also knocked out and tamed a giant octopus on his way to the island. He did a lot of amazing things. Luffy trying and failing to destroy a giant ship doesn't really mean anything since again the ship is absolutely massive. And Luffy's moveset isn't suited for super large enemies, let alone a ship that threatened to destroy an entire island. And the fact of the matter is, Luffy should NOT destroy it since it's very important for a prophecy. So it's good that he wasn't able to.
If I remember correctly it was bigger than or the same siE as Fish man island right? That's quite a feat.

If people weren't telling you what Sabo did during the reverie, it's only because we don't find out what actually happened during the Wano arc. Oda made it very mysterious as to what actually happened until much later... We know now, in the manga, but we didn't during (or even at the end of) Wano.
I think because you read the manga unlike most people you didn’t find these arcs as long as other people felt
My theory: Raftel is a Paradise Island. There is literally everything you could desire there. It is a place where you can be so happy, you can't help but laugh. It is the perfect end of an adventure, it's a place to stay. It would explain why Roger didn't take the One Piece, because the One Piece is the Paradise on this island. It would explain why everyone laughed. It would fit the theme of Food scarcity being one of the worst things in Luffys eyes. Also, if Joyboy put the One Piece on Raftel aka. created the paradise there, Luffy as the reincarnation would of course create paradise around the world and create a world where everyone can eat as much as they want and fullfill his dream.
I like this one a lot. I almost feel like it makes too much sense and oda is gonna throw a curve ball instead

Is there a way you could occasionally NOT be in the scene, so that I can see what's going on behind you? I already know what you look like. But there would be some big explosion or someone doing something behind you, and all I could see was your shirt. Very frustrating.
