I'll be the one to say it, the whole riott girl and grunge movement owes a lot to this lady. All the Bikini Kill's, L7, Babes In Toyland, and Hole attitude and vocal inflections was being done by Lydia in the 70s. So bow down to the queen. She doesn't get enough credit.
I love how prolific she is, she has never stopped working and been able to make a living despite veritably no mainstream exposure.
I lifetime of making art.
She is such an inspiration.
Man. I feel this!! It’s hard to make a living in this world doing what you want it feels, so it’s really nice to see people feel the same way about her 🖤 ᑭᓇᓈᐢᑯᒥᑎᐣ
She's said in an interview she didn't make it a living, she just had others to pay for her living while she did it
Everyone's saying that all the musicians and punks and hippies vrtually all sold out to pfizzer and got the jabb: is that true? How many from ''slow loris'' are jabbed Vs unjabbed for c19??
I'm very interested to know as I don't want musicians on the independents ''side'' have that question answered *for* them just 'cos they haven't got MSM on their side!??
Where are we on that, Dava??

No-one evokes life's joys quite like Lydia. Beautiful.
やっぱり最高、40年過ぎても最高、これは金とか株の世界ではない、名誉の世界でもない、人は皆死ぬから、素晴らしい、ありがとう。
An absolute stunning artist, a huge fan of LYDIAS work.
I have not as yet listened to a bad album from her discography.
Her light shines brightly as she continues to enchant us with her immense creativety.

Still one of my favourite records after thirty-eight years. I really couldn't give a toss whether anyone else loves her work. They signify nothing in my life. Lydia does and has, ever since Teenage Jesus.
We LOVE Lydia and her music and her personality!!!
I love Lydia Lunch.

So do I.
Instead of being recognized as a really great album, we now have sunk into a media cesspool of Taylor Swift and the likes. It's better to be original and creative and poor than spew bullshit and inherit all the riches of a world built of shit. I used to deliver news papers to the Bassist house when I was a youngster. He was a good guy. Greg used to show me stuff on his Telecaster when I was 9 years old. Mr. Williams joined the Weirdos and then got the Jig w/Lydia. I inherited the Flesheaters Rickenbacker at 14 when my brother Tim joined the Flyboys. Junk Rock was fun for a while.I always liked this album. So dark and abstract.Poetic and Rhythmic. If Black Sabbath was trying to sound like a Horror Movie then this is actually like a Sound Track to a Murder and Hell. Masterpiece. Love the scratching vinyl sound with the piano.
I SAW HER IN THE 80'S IN BOLOGNA ITALIA I WAS A TEENAGER !!!!
Weirdos as backing band! Genius move Ms. Lunch.
"Lock your door" is like the goth/no wave version of "Come together" by the Beatles xdxdxd

Got this album signed a few weeks ago after a stunning appearance on stage in Bzh. Excellent highlight in such dreary times. Loving that tune.
this one, queen of siam and smoke inthe shadows are my fav
This is what turned me o to Lydia in 1986 a punk radio show played the 1st song and I've been a fan ever since. By the way I was 12 years old and listened to Lydia lunch ect... I love she's stayed underground. And all my favorite artists have, it's just unfortunate they have so much more talent than mainstream artists and deserve at least more $$$$$$
"rewind, erase and nothing remains
the way that nothing ever does"
that hits hard for some reason
As bad as it gets - that is bad ass beautiful as it always shall be
i fucking love this album
The end of Snakepit Breakdown is how adults sound to children who haven't learned how to speak or understand their native language yet.
Eversince that Nardwuar interview I said to myself I gotta check this woman's music.
fell in love with her when i first heard this in 1985
to DS: It was an interesting time but also very self-conscious and painful. Don't ever wish you were in another time because nothing really exists anyway.
Jim Rader i get what you're saying i think. For the most part i don't Really wish i lived in a different decade, but unfortunately most of the artists and musicians i really live were at their primes during periods and in places where it would not be possible for me to have been around... so i can't say I'm not a little envious of the folks who just happened to have been around these artists that i consider my inspirations.
But its all one big now, and i doubt i honestly would have wanted to be around in the late 70s, ugh
@@davasmith4532 Time is infinite and warped. We are intertwined into everything we wish to be. Joy, pain, life, death is all just temporary and permanent in parallel and we just dance in-between our consciousness however diluted or absurd it all seems.
Just take what you got and say "this is all i need, time to advance entropy" and then do what you must. Have a good one everyone
Hate to admit how woefully ignorant I am about this release although I was a fan of Lydia in the early 80's. The band is incredibly tight and talented.
She singled out this lineup as one of the best she'd worked with.
@@davepx1 RIP Dix Denney
@@fascistseatdonuts Indeed. Fabulous work, as much a part of the LP's sound as Lydia herself.
love this album
Just started getting into Lydia. Starting with Shotgun Wedding which was awesome. This is great too.
Love her vocals. Saw a few live videos from a pretty recent performance and her voice is still great. Such a raw and passionate voice.

awesome
Viva Lidia te amo ❤️ eres mejor que muchas
Non ho mai ascoltato questo disco.
Comunque ho intenzione di averlo (quanto prima),
all'interno della mia discoteca personale.
Lydia,
era estremamente sensuale,
nei primi anni ottanta;
emanava una sensualità morbosa e terribilmente perversa. 🤍
best
This is fuckin' cool. I got a gig supporting her, I wasn't even really familiar though my bandmates are huge fans. Looking forward to it :D
When you see her say hi. She's very friendly and open to meeting other people.

The single worst thing about the internet is that most straights only know Lydia from that Joe Rogan interview.
Being English, I'd never heard of him, and on investigating his comedy discovered him to be entirely talentless.
Perhaps its the type of humour that doesn't translate across the atlantic (i hate Jim Carrey + Robin Williams too. We like people who understand the power of silence and timing. I realise its all a cry for help, but i have my own problems).
Anyway, all Rogan appeared to do was insult women in the audience.
Lydia remains entirety san generis. I actually didnt like this lp much when it came out.
I much prefer it now, but if i were to pick her 3 masterpieces id choose Queen of Siam, Paradoxia and Fingered.
neither interesting nor groundbreaking in any way
Much like that shit comedy routine you posted on your channel, you fat fuck.
I started to listen to her music because of nardwuard interview. She was a bitch in that interview but I have to say this álbum rocks.
@@elkmeatenjoyer3409 Nardwuar can be kind of a jerk himself, even if he does do some impressive deep-dive prep work. I haven't followed him for some time since all he seemed to post more recently were interviews with rap artists, unlike the more balanced mix when he was younger. There's got to be some quality talent still touring up in Vancouver, in contrast to the mumble crappers.
your music maybe...
Queen of siam!!
