- Have you ever used a shaky head? Today I'll discuss how I rig a shaky head, the combos I fish it on, how it compares to other popular finesse techniques, and lastly we'll discuss how to fish it. The shaky head is a lot more versatile than a lot of people think. Different jig heads, plastics, and ways of using the rig can make all the difference. Thanks for watching feeshin friends!
COMMENT BELOW and let me know if you've had success with a shaky head!

My tackle warehouse shopping cart gets bigger every time I watch one of your videos
Haha I feel that man. I could spend 500+ so easily
SOS, Shiny Object Syndrome.
GAS = gear acquisition syndrome
Same for me!!!
🙄
Hey Debo!! Miles here. Just wanted to tell you Truthfully, I watch Utube videos about 5 to 6 hours Everyday. Your videos by Far are the Most Informative than ANY of the others, Seriously!! I'm the same guy that asked you about putting tape on before spooling Braid / Florocarbon on my bait casting reels, I've heard on different channels do it this way, do it that way. I would just like to do it the way you do it. Keep up the Tremendous videos my Friend 🙂
I'm a beginner and I really enjoy watching your videos. You can tell fishing is something that you truly love to do and gets me excited to keep learning. Thanks for the great videos!
I do love to fish. I'm glad you enjoy my content man. Good luck this year 👊
So much great information for a beginner! Thank you!! This video answered so many questions for me!
Good info Debo thanks! You keep condensing my learning curve on this feeshin' thing!
Thanks man! I'm happy to share what I know. Hope it helps you!
Shaky head is my absolute favorite technique to use hands down. Perfect for all year round. The sweet beaver was also my first T-Rigged creature that I caught a bass on with green pumpkin being the color. Love your videos!
“The more you shake and work it the less likely you will get a bite.”
Have you been talking to my wife 😂
Bahahah...I'm not going anywhere near that 🤣🤣🤣👊
I watch a lot of fishing channels. By far this is the most informative channel on CZcams. You keep it interesting. Well done. Thank you!
I'm exploring finesse fishing so this absolutely helped out a lot on rigging and worms to use! Thanks again Debo and keep up the awesome content!🎣🎣
Contrasting the various finesse worm styles was awesome. Thank you Debo!
Very good info… started using the Shaky Head and love pairing it with the Ned, Wacky and now drop shot when dialing in on what they want in deeper water
Cool video! Great points to review when I get out again. A few times I’ve struggled with getting stuck and lost a lure or two. I fish off the delta and I gather the plant life gets pretty thick below. Maybe I’ll work on my popping action too. Patience isn’t the problem since I honestly love the peace and quiet time
Never used a shakey rig before and very little experience with other soft plastic setups. This is great basic info for me to get started with. Thanks!
Another great video! Justed searched for videos yesterday on shaky heads and just saw yours. Keep it up!
Awesome, good timing I guess! Hope it helps out man!
Thanks for the info, just getting started bass fishing and this was a great video...thanks
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Very well done.
Love this chanel. Need to be beeter at fishing to show my 3 boys up! Keep putting it out! I need the secrets!
Great video. You're my go to for any instructional type stuff I may be looking for. I appreciate what you do!
I appreciate that a lot man! Hope the vids are helping 👊
Awesome instructional video thank you for giving us the time and education, awesome video, please keep them coming,we appreciate ya!
The pleasure is all mine! Thanks for watching and hope it helps!
Great info. I haven’t used the shaky head enough, but I am now armed with the know-how to give it a better shot. Thanx as always.
You're welcome man, hope it helps out!
Awesome informative video . Another technique I’ve got to really spend time using
Thank you for the video. I'm new to bass fishing and never tried plastics yet. I used night crawlers and lures so far.
As said before never done a lot of finesse fishing. Have recently picked up some shaky heads and some soft plastics. Lots of great info. Thanks a bunch 👍👍
Thanks man! Hope the info helps. Good luck and catch some biggins!
Hey dude.....thanks for the tons of info....tips....loved the video...and although I did not want to admit it....i was one of those shaker guys....shaking it all the way....after this video....i will give it more time to have the tail do the work for me...thanks again for all the help!!!
Great video! I used to fish the shakey head quite a bit several years ago, but got into other techniques. I've been thinking about getting back into shakey head fishing and your video has me digging up my shakey head gear.
100% the same for me. I go in waves with certain lures/rigs. Four years ago this was my confidence lure. Started trying other things - ned rig, Nemo, weighted wacky, finesse jigs, etc. You forget about some of the old standards!
Awesome video. Picked up some trick worms today on a good deal. Knew you had a killer video that would teach me how to fish em. Thanks again.
Love how you cover all aspects of this type of fishing. Thanks. Only tried this method twice and after watching this video I realize I was fishing the shaky incorrectly. I plan on doing it right from now on. Way to go Debo.
Often times there isn't one right way. Make some changes and find what fits your style! Good luck man 👊👊👊
Thanks so much awesome video needed help just picked up some shaky heads for tougher days this spring
They are great for tough days! Thanks for watching 👊
Great info just got some Shakey head, wacky rigs and Ned rigs to try out. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for another great video! You answered a lot of my questions about this rig.I have not fished the shaky head much, but I plan to work on it this year.
Awesome, glad the vid helped! Good luck, hope you find some biggins with it!
Thanks! My new favorite fishing channel!
great tips as usual man. its like you knew i was on a string of finesse videos, shaky head being one of the main ones
Thanks man! The shaky head is a great versatile finesse rig!
That video was awesome, I learned about shaky heads haven't used them yet I bought some, but I haven't had a chance. Thanks for your tips 👍🎣
This is the best video on how to shakey head ive seen thank you.
Man what a vid. I just realized that I don’t use the shakey head enough. Great presentation sir. Very good info.
Thanks man! Yeah, seems to get overshadowed by the new rigs sometimes!
Love the information. Definitely a technique I have yet to try! Spring can't get here soon enough.
Give em a shot. Pretty weedless and come through stuff well. Good luck man!👊
I have been fishing freshwater for only a year now (weekend’s only) but I have notice that the shaky head works really well for me early in the morning, these will help me out a lot for 2020, thank you Debo, great video also
You're welcome man! They are great when the sun comes up and they move to cover as well. Docks, shade, trees!
That was helpful, I’m stuck on the pegged Texas rig worm definitely will try the shake thanks for the great content man
Nothing wrong with that. The weighted texas rig is probably my most confident rig!
New to the Chanel!
Love your tips and tricks. Cant wait to spring ariwes here i Sweden.
Will fore sure try out both shaky head and wacky head for purch this up coming spring.
Thanks for your tips, Great info.
🎣✌️👏
Great video with a lot of information in it. Absolutely love information with great explanation and you did that well. I am still learning a lot about this shaky head stuff and haven't gotten any of it in my tackle boxes as it is still growing. But now I would now be more confident to go out and get what I need to give it a try. As always my friend keep up the good work and keep making great content. You are awesome man.
Awesome, I hope it all helps! Thanks for watching 👊
I'm new to bass fishing. Thank you for the tips!
Great video. All information and right on.
ordered the misslebait neds. great reviews .plan on clobbering the bass on shakey and neds this spring along with wacky and neko rigs.
I’ve been ignoring the shakey head. But now I understand it so much more.!! I knew I could depend on my mento DEBO!!!!! Thanks so much for this viDEBO ‘cause I finally get it. In fact I’m going to use it tomorrow!! Depending on the weather of course nd use the tequila sunrise worm!!!! I let you know how it goes!!!!
Great video Debo. I can't believe that I helped make this video. Great stuff. We went fishing last night and (since the wacky rig is my confidence bait) the wacky rig produced 2 fish. One 2lber and one new PB. We figured 6lbs (to lazy to use the scale). One more bite on the wacky. And a bite on the Berkley Pitboss. Wacky was a Bass Pro Shops Tournament series 4 & 1/2" Wacky Stik-o-worm in Junebug. Berkley Pitboss was a black and blue. New to the Shakey head. Never caught anything on it. Hoping that I can. Should have tried the TRD Crawz Ned rig last night. Awesome stuff!!!
Thanks for watching man. Versatile rig and you can try a number of different plastics! Good luck this year!
Great video. Very helpful and informative
Glad to have found a fellow Iowan fisherman. Love the channel! Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for the vid Debo! Keep them coming!!👍
The thanks goes to you for watching and supporting 👊👊👊
Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing.
Baby brush hog on a shakey head is one of my favorite go to baits when bass are finicky light hook model works great !
Thank you for helping all use bank anglers learn new ways to catch feesh.
Great video!! Now I will start using shaky heads. Thank you
It’s fun to learn fishing techniques. I have fished my whole life, but have learned more in this past year than the rest of my years together. And Debo, you have been part of this learning curve. Bought shaky heads last year and can’t wait to use them more. I might try the ManBearPig in Tramp Stamp on them this season. Or a Buffalo Wild Wing.
Awesome man! I agree, learning and trying new stuff is half the fun. I'm glad my vids have helped man. Yes, I bet the MBP would be awesome on one. Save the wings for me 🤣
I actually searched for Buffalo Wild Wing at Tackle Warehouse lol Never know these days js
Thanks DEBO! A lot of info too take in. I have never fished a shakey head but plan to this year! Good luck in 2020!!
I tried to do a brain dump on the shaky head! I hope it helps you this year! Thanks for watching 👊👊👊
Awesome tips! Always keeping it real.
Trying to do what I can to help man. Appreciate you watching!
Great video Debo. Love videos like this. Please keep them coming.
Thanks man! I'll definitely do a few more like this!
Great video as always man! As far as the shakey head goes. I played around with them a little in the fall, but I plan on working with them alot more in 2020.
Thanks man! Toss them, you'll definitely get some bites! Good luck 👊
Hey Debo lovely video really enjoyed it thanks for your advice and guidance keep up the good video's 👍👊
You're welcome and thanks for watching 👊
Thanks debo good info will be doing it this weekend!
Awesome! Hope you caught some biggins!
I just returned from about year hiatus from bass fishing. Your videos are perfect for the hobbyist bank angler like me. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make the content. I just gave you a subscribe and I even superchatted your live stream earlier today. Tight lines!
Haven't gotten around to a Shakey head since I got back into fishing but it on the list. Great video 👍
Nice! They come in handy for sure! Good luck 👊
Have not experimented enough to have a favorite, but sure did love this video! 👍👊🎣
That's ok. Just takes time on the water to find what you like!
Like your videos. This one was great. I will put this info to use.
Great advise, I believe most people over work shaky heads, ned rigs, and drop shots. Many fish in my area won't hit a moving piece of plastic, but suck it off the bottom after movement stops. Hits on the fall only seem to come from the most aggressive fish.
Yeah, I still have a tendency to overwork them. Frustration and impatience seem to make me shake the rod like a can of paint 🤣
Great vid, haven't used the Shakey head but after this I will try this year. Love the videos.
Great, definitely give it a shot! Thanks for watching 👊
Great info! Been enjoying using a Ned rig here during the early winter, but the shaky head looks like it will be a lot of fun as well with more bait options.
Thanks! I hope it helped👊
Thank you for these tips.
We out here! Been waiting for this one Debo!
Hahah thanks, Kendall! Hope it helps you out 👊
My FAV shakeyhead jig is the Buckeye Lures Pro Model. The flat face gives a SUPERB fluttering action when jerked, both up and on the fall. My favorite trailer is the Rzr Shad. It darts ever which way with each hard jerk, thanks to the flat face of the 3/16 jig.

20lb test allows me to really rip it when I cast and jerk (imparting the best action to the lure). Reaction bites... love em.
Dude I'm obsessed with purple lures too I love those beaver baits and those air tail rattle worms!
Yeah thanks for the info I'm going to have to use the shaky Head more I see that now
Thanks for the advice!
Outstanding video. Glad to find your channel after catching TJ81 on Easter SNL !👊🏻👍💪🏻
This might be the best shaky head video on CZcams. Good work!
Damn man, that means a lot! Thanks for watching and supporting 👊
DEBO. great video. I fish the shaky head a little bit, but I've never caught anything yet. I get the feeling I'm working it too much or too fast. Since I'm new to the rig, I never know which style of shakey head hooks to buy, so I greatly appreciate the coverage on the various head and hook options. Explained it very well!
Awesome! I'm happy to hear that this could help! It's great to lightly pop it on the bottom like a jig, drag it, or just toss it at high percentage targets!
Absolutely love the Yum pumpkin ed shaky heads. Caught an 8lber on 1 last January
Nice! I'd love to find an 8lber someday!
Great video Debo! I don't throw the shaky head as a lot of the ponds I fish have a lot of gunk on the bottom. I will put up with it when the bite gets tough. Like you, the Zoom finesse and Grandebass Airtails are my fav but I like the suggestion of trying the swimbait or beaver. The tip on not imparting too much action is spot on! We need to find a way to get your subs over 100k!
I'm glad the tips helped man. I've truly had days bouncing it with no bites...switched to just dragging it over rocks and it was game on! I'll get to 100K someday...hopefully 🤣👊
Great video Debo! I haven't had any luck with the Shakey head yet, but I just started fishing in late September. I'll definitely be giving your tips a try.
Keep tossing it, you'll catch something on it! Good luck this year man!
Debo I watch most everyday. Learning more how you fish. Soon I'll be useing my new assassin rods with assassin reels. Can't wait to catch debos dinks. Thank you sir.
Good stuff Debo! Can’t wait to get out there.
Thanks man! Me too, I'm having feeshin withdrawals!
Awesome video an great tips going try the shaky head more. Keep them
Coming. Tight lines my friend
Heck yeah, give it a go! Thanks for watching 👊
Excellent instructional video Debo! Thank you! Btw, it snowed all day here! 🤨
Great video dude. A lot of tips that i needed. Thanks dude
You're welcome man, hope the tips helped!
Great explanation, thanks a lot.
Love the video! Love the Shaky-head, tossed them in a verity of sizes with a verity of stick baits they just get bit errrytime!
Thanks man! Yes, they definitely find fish!
This video reminds me I still use the reel you gave me for finesse fishing.
Hahah nice man! Thanks for sticking with my channel this whole time!
Debo
Another great video, hope spring gets here sooner then later. And I have always found zoom trick worms work great!! Also in the purple & black color...
The trick worms are classic! Thanks for watching!
Man thank you so much for the education...I'm going to add the shaky head into my game..
Texas rig on plastic craws works well for me at my local lake. I'm gonna take your advice on your string choice.
Debo,
I could go the whole season and only throw a shaky head with different trailers. I am confident no matter where I am and what the conditions I would still catch fish. Not because I am that good but because the bait is so versatile as you pointed out. The different shapes of the heads, the different weights and you can use almost every type and style of plastic on the market. As a result all of these combinations make up unique rigs that have different characteristics. I have tiny trout sized heads up to the standard 1/16, 3/16, 1/4 and 3/8 oz heads. I do not go any larger I love finesse fishing. 3,4 and 5 inch Senko’s were my standards for quite some time. Reaction Innovations Smallie Beaver and the standard version have been primary trailers when I am slow dragging the bottom. I have recently fell in love with Z-Man products both of the TRD’s have produced some quality fish. The Big TRD in PB&J has caught my largest fish and I mean multiple large fish.
You're 100% correct! It's a rig that can do a a lot of different things. Grass, wood, rock...it's not often that a lure can do all of that and not get hung up all of the time!
Did you fish the pb&j on a shakyhead or did you use the zman shrooms ned rig hooks for it?
Great video! Thank you.
Great tips... Thanks!
Another Gem from Debo! Keep em coming man.
Appreciate that a lot man! Thanks for watching 👊
What's up Debo. Your The man been watching your channel for a long time you're actually the one that taught me how to use a baitcaster I want to thank you for that and I problem with the Shaky Head is I can never keep the worm on the peg with a weight is it always slides off maybe I need to get the one that you had with that little keeper there
Watching from the Philippines...nice tutorial Sir....t a great video to share with ...
Actually never fished the Shakey head but do have some on order so I will have that option in the future. Have this video bookmarked for the tips! Thanks Debo!
Awesome man! Hope it helps. They can definitely be addictive when you get a bunch of bites on them!
I love the shakey head worms from Zoom. Got to try the bomb shot, never thought of it. Thanks.
Yeah, the trick worms are the OG IMO.
I really like the grande bass I have never tried them. I might have to pick up some of their air tails.
Good info, thanks mister.
