- Almost half of the veteran population is 65 or older, and many sometimes are unable to afford a nursing home. The Medical Foster Home Program, started in 2002, allows hundreds of veterans to receive in-home care for significantly cheaper. James Brown explains.

This should be a universal program for all aging populations. I hope benefits will eventually go to non-vets too. What a great program.
I'm in southern Maryland, and I would absolutely love to sign up to sponsor a veteran in my home. I live near DC and a VA health center, and a Navy base with access to a commissary and exchange.
I am married to an Active duty Marine, no kids, and feel like we both have so much to give back to those who have served this nation. Thank you for sharing this story. Time to do some research@
