Good reaction to this horror/comedy classic, but I can't BELIEVE you cut the best line: "Mummy, a naked American man stole my balloons!!" :/

  • @ericbinford2674

Someone misled you. It isn't a horror movie. It's a mischievous horror spoof. It's funny, albeit in a dark and tasteless kind of way. Director Landis has an offbeat sense of humor.

It's not supposed to be scary...it's a comedy horror.

Now that Cami has seen this and The Thing, she's seen the two best uses of practical effects ever made. I'm glad she appreciates and "misses" them. Did she notice that every single song in the soundtrack is moon related? Or that this movie is actually a (very) dark comedy?

I love the scenes in the pub. The evocation of paranoia and fear in an isolated community that has lived with the curse for generations. Brilliant.

So this is what is amazing to me. When David rruns off, people are shocked. What was he supposed to do against a monster??

  • @mickmack1409

Thanks, nice reaction. I was afraid of werewolves as a child also. As an adult I've fantasized about being a werewolf.

  • @paulhadfield7909

    great reaction

When they had him at the theater you said they could kill him with their weapons.. Police in England don't carry guns. They have to call in a special squad that does have guns. All they had was a baton.

This was the film that made me want to be a special effects makeup artist when I was a kid and saw this when i was 12.

  • @coldflamebluedragon196

The transformation scene is still regarded as one of the greatest achievements in cinematic practical effects. This was the movie that inspired Michael Jackson to ask John Landis to direct his ‘Thriller’ music video

This werewolf movie is a classic and 💎 so happy to see you reacting to this werewolf movie.

You can skip An American Werewolf in Paris.

Mr. Collins from the American Embassy is Frank Oz.

"A naked American man stole my balloons". Best line reading in movie history.

  • @shainewhite2781

This won for Best Make-up at the 1982 Academy Awards as the category was introduced a year earlier.

This remains, without doubt, one of the most interesting and unusual horror films ever made. Also, The Slaughtered Lamb is frequented by many famous people (at least in the UK); the second chess player is Rik Mayall who was, for years, a very famous and much loved comedien. Brian Glover tells the joke, and David Schofield is the angry dart player. By the way, you are very cute and adorable. 🥰 x x x

Rob Bottin, the man who did the practical effects, was only 21 years old when they made it.

For me the scariest part was at the beginning when Jack first gets attacked. I lived in England for two years and I remember walking home after getting off work at 11:00 pm for five miles because I lived off base. I had to walk on a lonely country road just like the one in this movie. I remember hearing animal noises and seeing dark shapes on both sides of the road. Maybe it was just racoons or stray dogs , but late at night with a full moon it was very scary. I also remember being in deserted tube (subway) stations late at night and thinking something could come out of the tunnels at any time to murder me and leave me in a bloody mess.
