- If you are a new drone pilot you may have noticed sometimes it's hard to capture colorful sunrise and sunset videos and photos with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. They can be overexposed and washed out with very little color. There are many advanced things you can do to make them more vibrant but as a new drone pilot, it can be complicated and a little overwhelming. In this video I will show you 2 simple settings you can change that will make your sunset and sunrise videos more appealing and moody when capturing with your DJI Mini 3 Pro or other similar drone...no color grading is required just follow these easy tips.

Good tip. If you adjust your kelvin temp too much, everything in the foreground turns too warm. A polarizing filter can help to add richness allowing for less adjustment.
Great tip. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the reminder about white balance!
Super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Simple and straightforward. Thank you
Thank you! I really need to spend more time tweaking and working with the advanced settings. Auto mode for the most part is sufficient, especially if you are in a hurry to film so you don't miss an important moment. Tweaking is tedious and sometimes disappointing if you get it really wrong while rushing to get the shot. Yup! There is a risk in just about everything you do! LOL! Just enjoy flying and filming! You'll be happy. Thanks for sharing!
Very well explained, thank you! Just curious, what settings did you use for the beautiful sunset you presented at the beginning?
Ever since I seen your video's I learned a lot. Thank you for all you do. Chuck.
That’s great to hear. Thank you.
2 great and easy to implement steps. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Thanks for this. How about mini 3 pro night photo settings? Any advise please (shutter speed, f value, iso etc)
Love your videos, consistently giving simple clear delivery of extremely useful tips.
Always better to get it right in camera than edit afterwards.
Thank you very much and thanks for watching 🙂
Thanks for the info .
.new sub from Scotland 👍
Thanks for the sub!
Did you get right and left reversed when comparing the before and after photos?
Lol perhaps I’ll have to rewatch it
i think so
yes he did
great advice Shawn and simple adjustment nice sunset
Thanks, Jim
Really nice video. Question: during sunsets and sunrises do we need to use a ND/ND+PL filter or just standard lens. Thnx and stay safe.
Thx S
Great tutorial Shawn as always.
Thank you very much
Thank you❤
Welcome!
Thank you so much for these tips... Can't wait to expirement with them... Thumbs up 👍🏼... 🤝🏼👏🏽
Thank you Sean this really helped me understand the EV balance an White Balance
Glad it was helpful!
wow, you know what Shawn....your video is going to look vibrant with the outdoor & beautiful background...keep it up....and...thank you for the tips
I've been watching your videos and you do a great job of explaining things in a calm, clear straightforward manner. I'm considering getting a Mini 3. I shoot video with my Fuji H1, but I've been watching a lot of travel videos and drone footage really spices things up. We have a trip to Austria and Slovenia planned for December and it would be great to take the Mini 3 along.
Definitely mixing in some drone footage can always add a nice new element. The mini three is a great choice for travel. It’s a fully capable drone and a great choice for many.
Im on the mini 4 pro, this helped for me too🌅
Nice little tip that everyone should be able to achieve. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Thank you for your tutorial, it is very helpful. looking forward to learning more from you about special photo settings. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video buddy.. Yup these are the two settings i always change on my Camera drones If I'm looking for a more dramatic picture or video.. Thx for the video..💪💪
Mikey
wow, thks
Thanks for watching
Great Video!! Wow what a difference that made!!
Great tips Shawn, I do this all the time. Except for the iPhone, it does it on it's own. You almost always get a good sunset with iPhone on auto settings. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ron and thanks for watching. I hope all is well.
Thanks Shaun.
I always start with a neg .3 ev on my M3P no matter the light conditions. For some reason most cameras overexpose by default. Good tips. Hope your journey is going well.
Great tip!
Thank you!!
Thanks for those tips. I always forget to work with the settings! These are nice simple things to do. All the best mate 🙂👍
Thank you very much and thanks for watching
Always the best info Shawn!
Thank you
Good evening
Thanks for the tips!
Nice and thanks.
Good tips again Shawn
Thank you
❤❤
I love it!!!!!!🎉
Great tips
Glad you like them!
I guess I gotta get used to the Canadian left and right, didn't realize they were opposite of what I'm used to. Great tips, btw, and I like your face better than your hands. Don't get me wrong, nothing against your hands, but your face is more personable
Ha ha he had somebody else already pointed that out to me. I guess I put them on the wrong side. Lol.
@@AirPhotography I was just messin with ya. At least they weren't upside down
Good morning!
Good morning to you as well
Awesome video! Are you using any sort of filter in this example?
Thank you very much. No filters, and every other settings set to auto.
right is right. or left
I definitely want to get a mini 3 when my se dies if it does die lol
Shawn I wanted to ask you which drone is a better upgrade from my original mavic mini? The air 2s or mini 3 pro
That is a very tough decision. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I would have to see the air 2S is probably the best upgrade if you’re not worried about sub 250 however, rumor is that there could be an air 3 this summer so it may be worthwhile to hold off a couple weeks and see if that turns out to be the case.
👍
What mic are you using? It’s so clear
I am using the Dji Wireless Mic plugged into my iPhone
Big Air
OMG this is not what I imagined you look like 🙂. We usually only see your hands 😀
I hope I did not disappoint. Lol. Yeah, the last four videos I’ve been in front of the camera. There’s been some life changes and I have to change the way I film
@@AirPhotography all good! Love the channel
Although I enjoy your videos, this one comes across to me as making the photo fake. Nothing wrong with touching up photos but I like natural
Indeed, I can fully appreciate that. I myself prefer more natural looking. However sometimes for social media, you need things that pop and wow so once in a while, I like to turn it up a little bit. Thanks for sharing your feedback. It’s always appreciated.
