Every character is able to receive so much attention and commitment, no matter how small. Each person you meet has so much detail in their character. A lot even get their own episodes. And at the end of that episode, after you get to know them so well, they just seamlessly move back into their larger group, and you now look at them with greater context for the rest of the show.
