Same here I was 6 and had my first dual cassette tape to tape with speed reel rewind I was on top of the world got them for Christmas and by the time feb was around my parents had to hide it to keep from going insane lol . I just listened to them all and it brought back memories I didn’t think I had ! Things were so much simpler then ..
I sustained a pretty severe head injury in 1996 resulting in significant amnesia. I stumbled upon this record and listened to it with ear buds in while my husband slept beside me. I had an extremely intense flood of memories from my "eventful " childhood and was soon racked with emotional tears...I couldn't breathe...it was joy and pain and a gateway to many many lost memories...,THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POSTING! !!!
I still remember every word, every scat, every instrumental flourish I'm 42 and I think all of my musical preferences stem from the classic melodies and arrangements of this one album. That and my 20 Best of The Beatles cassette.
You remember every word? I can't even make out every word. I like the Cowboy song, but the next one sucked (Merry go Round). I wasn't happy after my first day of school. I hated it with a passion.
Believe it or not I think my favorite parts were hearing needle on the record and the skipping. This was one of my favorite records to fall asleep listening to. Dang I miss being a kid!!
without a doubt!!!! Only people who remember vinyl records know the crackling and popping....and the random skip! It's literally my childhood.....such simple simple times! You just had to remember not to talk to strangers!
This is awesome! My mom bought this album for me when I was 7 as a reward for no longer sucking my thumb! I remember dancing in the living room on green shag carpet while listening to this album. So fun to hear it again 42 years later!!
I was 6 when I had this record. My brother was 8. He use to put it on for me and listen with me while he drew, he was an artist with tremendous talent. He would play Smurfing Land. Little Smurf Boat and Merry Go Round for me as many times as I wanted to hear them. These songs bring back so many loving and heart breaking memories of the love my brother had for me growing up. He sure was a big brother.
I was that brother for someone. I'm an accomplished artist as well. This album has a profound message that brought me to tears as a child as an adult as well. I got this record for my sixth birthday. The memories attached to this music are palpable. It very bittersweet. The marry go round song makes me cry every time, if smurfs me up to be honest. My mother just passed away and I came here to remember her. She was a wonderful person, an angel really. This is smurfing strange. Are you my sister?! Just kidding but that's too strange. Great people know the power of God, art and the mighty Smurf. May the Smurf be with you!
My little brother who passed away used to listen to his cassette every night before bed at home and in the hospital. everyone who knew him knew these songs. you've given me back so many memories with this. I can't thank you enough. haven't heard these since 1983 cause his tape went with him when he passed away . again ty so much. ❤❤
Kathleen Miller just download the audio here, and burn it to cd or use it with an USB drive, you can get online for free a_tube catcher software , it's secure and free and convert the files to any type of mexia
As a little boy I used to own Silly Little Song/Little Smurf Boat on 7" vinyl. As a 40-something this has reawakened the innocent child in me. Now I must go back and listen to the Mr. Men songs, The Wombles and the Rupert the Bear theme song.
This brought back so many wonderful memories, actually brought a tear to my eye...i had the vinyl record and wore the damn thing out! I will make sure my daughter gets to enjoy this as much as I did, thank you so much!
Thank you so much!!!! I have so many memories from once owning this as a child. I still know almost all the words. To me it was a sense of peace, comfort & happiness. So I truly appreciate your sharing this with all of us. :') ❤️😍🏰🎶😘
I cannot say Thank You enough for posting this. I still have the cover but not the record. I used to fall asleep listening to in on the porch swing in the late 80's. Ah the memories!!
I still have the vinyl in the original sleeve. I was actually an adult when I first heard this...65 now, and know the words and can sing along to every song. Thanks Koky!
I wore the grooves flat on this album in the early 80s. Hearing it now for the first time in 40 years I remember how much I loved the minor keys and how that influenced some of my musical taste. Songs by Mary Hopkins and The Beatles in minor keys always touched a memory I couldn't fully recall. Thanks for this.
I first heard this album when our daughter was a toddler and at the time I cried when I heard "Merry Go Round". Her sons are 8 and 10 now and the song still brings a lump to my throat.
OMG I have been looking for this for years. I had this exact album as a kid, but the intense heat killed it over time. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this. You have just made my day
I had this record! Listened to it EVERY NIGHT at bedtime. Took it everywhere I stayed the night. The saddest day in my childhood was learning what happens to a record when it’s left in a car window on a hot summer day 😭
Omg!!!! The memories are flooding back like crazy and can't believe I still remember the words to all the songs! My fav was smurf lullaby. I regret not keeping the cassette:(
So I am an October 6th 1976 baby when I got this album it was the best album ever I got to say it my mother my oldest sister would say little Smurf boat was my song they associated that song with me and now two years later my mother has passed away 4 years later my eldest sister passed away and every time I hear little smurfboat it puts me back when I was 4 years old and I was the best person that I could ever be at that time this song this album made me and I believe who I am today this is the best that was you you'll never see this and any genre this is the best that he'll ever get in any generation
wow lmao I can't believe I finally found this! I use to fall asleep to this as a kid with my arm wrapped around my small little ghetto blaster 😊 great memories thank you
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!! Haven't heard this collection of songs since my beloved 8-track broke (due to excessive listening - it wore right through) - it was a brutally sad, sad day! And now it's Smurfing again!!!!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for sharing this. I sang these songs with my children while camping and swimming and just holding off to sleep. Memories that bring tears. Good memories. Thank you.

You just took me back to my parents living room with its orange and green shag carpet, listening to this record and staring at the album jacket for hours, wondering who in the world Peyo was.
Thanks for uploading, I listened to this album when I was 5-6 years old and it was my favorite.... I played it so much that I still remember the songs.
this was like a birthday present because this video was posted on my birthday, because i remember these songs from when i was little. Its been sooo long since i heard these last. thank you so much!
I got this as a present when I was a little boy. Waaaayyy back in the 1980's. I think I was around 7 or years old. I still remember I got a cap gun too!! It was a rifle and took a red ring of caps. We would play war/army.....this record, yes it was a record when I got it was sooo awesome!!! "Sing along" might be a stretch as no one knew these lyrics and back then you couldnt grab your phone and look for the lyrics.... Was surprised it didn't come with a sing along book.... Anyway I found it VERY VERY odd there was a Rabbi on the back like us kids would know who that old dude was! :D Anyway.....anyone else who knows this album! Hello!!
Well I have wondered about the same thing since father Abraham is not from the tv series but in the music with them he is like papa Smurf , I don’t know wheee he came from , I got the theee vinyl albums in English and two in Spanish , he sings in all the Spanish songs ,
Probably the most listened to cassette in my house. Sharing this with my kids is so awesome. I'm almost 40...having a new baby coming in Sept....to share with this one will be epic lol like here's true oldies 😂
I don't whether to cry or laugh. Shoot, this really brings me back, played this over and over on grandmas record player. She's still got the player but not the record, she's now 99. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thank you for sharing this. I haven't heard this album since my drunk father threw it across the room and told me he hated Alvin and the Chipmunks back in the early 80's.
💕OMG! I LOVE THIS! When I was a little girl some 4 decades ago… my mother use to turn this on for us 3 children to listen to at bedtime. I LOVED IT! To this day ALL MY TOOTHBRUSHES MUST BE PINK,🩷💕💞💓💗💖💘💕💞💓
i was too old for this at the time, i was too busy hanging out behind the gym,....... but i sure do remember the commercials, really trying hard, really wanting you to buy their records.. found some on youtube, the commercials ... "The Smurfs All Star Show LP Commercial" "Smurfin Smurf Album Commercial 1990" none of these are the commercial i remember being inundated the most by.... so there where more..
I must have been 4 or 5 when my mom bought this album. i remember this record playing in our tiny apartment. such a magical and innocent time back then. Thanks for posting :-)
My mom came to vegas to see me just hours ago and brought me the smurfs I had and this record was in the box!!! I had smurfs sheets!! Lol! I just put up my smurfs on my dresser in my bedroom!
I came here today looking for this album. My sister had it on vinyl and I loved it so much. Great memories. The Smurfs was my favorite of the many great ‘80’s classics we had. 💙
I had those records when I was a little girl. I played them so much that I drove my older sister insane! Now it's years later and she still brings up the time I played those records repeatedly! 😂
Wow!! I'm 50 and remember the Silly Song and Little Smurf Boat as my first 45 single when I was about 4/5 and loved it and remember some of the words even after over 40 years since I last heard it.
LOL, we had the 8 track when I was little. I remember you could only purchase it at the Safe-way grocery. I can seriously remember the end-cap display with the 8 track long packages. My 30 year old daughter send me the link and reminded me she would play the same 8 track when she was little.

We had a budgie that loved this album on 8 track so we would leave it on for him when we went out. Until the tape broke, kept playing the same minute over and over, and we had been out for hours. That bird sang about being a pink toothbrush for the rest of his life. Good times.
@@Rlotpir1972 but then you can't play it on an endless loop while out of the house to keep the pets entertained!! (Which I guess was our downfall in the end, but it was a good concept while it lasted).
I had this on 8 track and used to listen to it all the time. I think this was the main reason I wanted to watch the Smurf cartoon when it came on a few years later.
@@JORGESANDOVALcoquisand The smurfs blew up big in the USA as greeting cards (I think?) in the 70's. This lead to the album which helped launch the series in 81. All I knew as a kid is I loved the album and wanted to watch the cartoon when it launched.
@@WarrenCBennett great, in my country after the series started like in 1982 some albums in Spanish came out and those songs where very popular, but I like the English versions better
@13:27 Come To the Party, we'll have smurf-burgers and chips, smurfing soda lucky(?) dips, and all of the smurfs will be there - this was the track i was looking for thx
OMG, I'm almost in tears over this. These were my jams when I was 4. So many happy times.
I'm so happy

This was my favorite thing ever as a kid. Sweet memories. When I die I'm going to Smurfing Land!

Smurfin' Cowboy, man that's my favorite song from when I was a kid!
I was singing it this morning in my head and thought i should look it up, so happy to see the whole album here
That was my second fave after the toothbrush song!
I had this record! Listened to it EVERY NIGHT at bedtime. Took it everywhere I stayed the night. The saddest day in my childhood was learning what happens to a record when it’s left in a car window on a hot summer day 😭
And believe it or not is not easy to find that record anymore , I got a few of the other ones but only one of this
Omg!!!! The memories are flooding back like crazy and can't believe I still remember the words to all the songs! My fav was smurf lullaby. I regret not keeping the cassette:(

Thank you! So great to listen to this again. We wore that cassette out on road trips back in the day!
Childhood memories, sitting in front of the record player being as happy as pie, mom with me and no problems, miss everything about being 4 years old,
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for sharing this. I sang these songs with my children while camping and swimming and just holding off to sleep. Memories that bring tears. Good memories. Thank you.
You are very welcome friend
So many memories!! Thank you for posting this!!
Thank you SOO MUUCH for sharing this. I still have my cassette. I had forgotten the "smurfing beer" part on the first song!!! LOL
My pleasure thanks for sharing your thoughts
The city's so busy, the noise makes you dizzy
The neon lights flash off and on
Everyone's in a hurry, you rush and you worry
The bus that you wanted is gone
But just off the highway, a road leading to
The big ships and boats lying afloat
There's sailboats and steamers with colorful streamers
big ships, and a little blue boat
CHORUS
There is a little smurf boat in the harbor
Blue as the sky with a sail white as snow
She is the tiniest boat in the harbor
But she will sail to anyplace you want to go
The sails are from snowflakes, the paint comes from blue lakes,
The beams are from matchsticks and glue
All day they eat cream cakes, the ones that Smurf Cookie bakes
Join us, you'll have some too
First mate and the captain, they share the same cabin,
The steward, he sleeps all day long
A smurf starts the engine, then plays his accordion,
And everyone joins in his song
CHORUS
She'll sail you to Hong Kong and then on to Boston
And anywhere you want to be
Jacata or Ceylon, Jamaica or Lisbon
Oh what a life on the sea
She'll sail you to Oslo and then back to Rio
Pass dolphins and whales on the way
And Dreamland gets stranded, in Smurfland we've landed
I bet this is where you will stay
CHORUS (repeat to fade)
You just took me back to my parents living room with its orange and green shag carpet, listening to this record and staring at the album jacket for hours, wondering who in the world Peyo was.
Peyo is a Belgian cartoonist.
Exact same memory for me but the shag carpet was yellow. LOL
Lol
A type of tea, I think. The creator of the Smurfs apparently loved his peyo tea.
Carpet was orange and was in the basement, or lower level.
Thanks for uploading, I listened to this album when I was 5-6 years old and it was my favorite.... I played it so much that I still remember the songs.

Nice, greetings
I had those records when I was a little girl. I played them so much that I drove my older sister insane! Now it's years later and she still brings up the time I played those records repeatedly! 😂
God these memories, where'd the time go. Sad but happy at the same time
Omg! These are the songs that my mom would play when I was kid and sick.
You have brought this man immeasurable joy.
Christopher Loflin your wecome
This album was the craze of my first grade class in 1981 at Mother Goose School.
Thank you for such a awesome travel down memory lane!!! 😊
My pleasure
Wow!! I'm 50 and remember the Silly Song and Little Smurf Boat as my first 45 single when I was about 4/5 and loved it and remember some of the words even after over 40 years since I last heard it.
Thank you for posting this.
OMG!! I had had this tape when I was a kid and me and my brother played this all the time!! Happy Memories!!! ❤
How Funny When I Was Little I Used To Play This Album Alot
Awe! The needle in the vinyl did it for me. Me and my beothers would march and dance in the living room to this over and over. Thank you!
O my God i didn't know i would found back this album bring me back to my child wood i use to listen every day
Yayyy
had this album on tape and used to listen to it constantly..glad I could find it again🎉
LOL, we had the 8 track when I was little. I remember you could only purchase it at the Safe-way grocery. I can seriously remember the end-cap display with the 8 track long packages. My 30 year old daughter send me the link and reminded me she would play the same 8 track when she was little.
After a while I was able to get another copy of this record , I love it
this is fantastic!!
Awesome! Brings me waaaay back.

But can you do the smurfing hop?
Nope with a hop I'll flop

Man I loved this album as a kid! Still slaps!
We had a budgie that loved this album on 8 track so we would leave it on for him when we went out. Until the tape broke, kept playing the same minute over and over, and we had been out for hours. That bird sang about being a pink toothbrush for the rest of his life. Good times.
You were better off with vinyl or cassette.
@@Rlotpir1972 but then you can't play it on an endless loop while out of the house to keep the pets entertained!! (Which I guess was our downfall in the end, but it was a good concept while it lasted).
Was looking for this 😃 Had a tape of this and lost it a long time ago
Silly little song and blue toothbrush - oh the memories! I remember having this LP when i was young...loved it so much. Thank you for sharing!
Your welcome
I sang these to my kids when they were small
ive been lookin for this for years. i had it on cassette. thank u so much
You are welcome, I got several copies on vinyl, and all of their records
I bought this LP. for 50 cents yesterday haha
I had this on 8 track and used to listen to it all the time. I think this was the main reason I wanted to watch the Smurf cartoon when it came on a few years later.
I didn’t know the album is older than the show
@@JORGESANDOVALcoquisand The smurfs blew up big in the USA as greeting cards (I think?) in the 70's.

How many people here listened to this when they were a child, and are now a grandparent

I was a toddler when this came out and I wouldn’t go to bed unless this record was played.
We had this on 8 track for my two girls. It was fun to hear it again. We played it all the time in the car for the kids!
Never seen this on 8 track
We had the 8-Track when we were kids and played it for hours on end!
wow all the comments. feeling exactly the same i do hearing this again after almost 40 years
Why does the song 'Little Smurf Boat' _still_ make me cry, frfr?? I don't cry watching movies but gimmie a smurf song & I'm toast, WTF?! 😂😂
Wow the memorys you might have
@@JORGESANDOVALcoquisand It just a such a sad song about a little boat. It _is_ my saddest childhood memory! 😂😂
@@Digitalhunny never thought that , but it is an incredible album
👍
@13:27 Come To the Party, we'll have smurf-burgers and chips, smurfing soda lucky(?) dips, and all of the smurfs will be there -
