    Your drawings are always so much more beautiful than the photo!

    Thanks for this Jason, it’s been very helpful. I’m going to pop into ‘TheRange’ later today to get some of the transfer paper.

      A problem I’m having is upscaling now that the Poster facility is greyed out in Adobe Acrobat Reader to enlarge image over more pages than A4.
      Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Apple and Adobe haven’t come up with a
      fix as yet.
      ix as yet. Cheers.

    Excellent explanation of how to use the papers Jason. I really enjoy your art and you have so many helpful lessons for those who would like to learn at their own pace. Most of the time I draw in the reference but I check it by using either the paper or light box because so much time goes into the drawing itself. I am working on a juvenile indigo bird in pastels (sticks and pencils) and a very camouflaged sapsucker in colored pencils on Pastelmat. I think that Pastelmat is my favorite substrate other than watercolor paper in combination. Many tips I have picked up by watching your tutorials. I had painted and drawn for years but really getting used to pastels was different for me so thank you very much.😊

    Thanks for the brilliant tip Jason. I didn’t think of using the two transfer papers on light dogs. I have two Golden Retrievers coming up after Christmas and I will use this technique. Do you ever use a projector to transfer images? Any tips? Wishing you a very happy Christmas 🎄.

    @Jason Do you have a video doing a white animal? Would light gray paper be a good option or is the light blue ok?

    Very helpful video. Do you have to use the black paper to draw the dark area or will white do the same job? Also, are the transfer papers reusable?

    Hi love watching your videos but im a bit confused , so basicaly you are just tracing the original photo? Then filling in with pastels? Do you not draw free hand at all?

      Using guidelines is not "tracing" - and quite common when you do
      Portraits.
      Ask any tattoo artist.

    I find the graphite resists my colored pencil. Does the pastell pencil cover the graphite well?

    • @wildlifeartjm
      @wildlifeartjm  Před 11 měsíci

      no, i use a very light transfer line, that works fine

    En serio?? Y porque no lo dibujas con las medidas del modelo y ya está, entre la fotografía y el "copiado " me quedo con la fotografía por supuesto..
