If Ukrainian territory is officially ceded to Russia, it then becomes territory that cannot be attacked as part of an in-depth defence, as it will then be ‘an attack on Russian sovereign territory’. Russia is not going to stop, whether territory is ceded or not. If you give up contested ground, the contest then moves to new ground, but the defenders surrender has given them no advantage. Therefore, there is no point ceding anything at all to Russia, and every reason not to, irrespective of the tactical situation.

Ideally for the Russians they will take everything from Donbass to Transnistria in Moldova. Open up GMaps and you'll see that's what they been working on these whole time. Kiev 'siege" was a bait for the best Ukrainian troops and it would be impossible for Russia to take it and control it for years. It's an old plan and is mostly based on conquering resources like lithium, gaining full access to sea and connecting Russian speaking population to Russia.

I don't think there's a way to go back by giving Ukrainian land to Russia.
It's a matter of perspective but it all ends in a show off of who's the Alpha Dog.
This is a dog eat dog world and Russia and Ukraine and Nato along with China and the US and Britain all want to be the Top Dog. They're not going to stop until their side has an effective victory. They'll just up the game until somebody gets their recognition.
Or we can talk about Politics and how Biden and his son has a lot to lose if Ukrainians win. How bout that. Maybe the reason Putin is there is to destroy the proof that Biden and his son is effectively a US National Security threat. After all Barisma, hookers and Cocaine right!?
This could go WW3 just because the Dems wanted Trump out of office because he was Orange shitler and replaced him with a guy who's so old you can see him getting older by the minute. Unless a leader appears in the west out of no where to bring our forces together we won't be able to pull off an effective win against Russia, China and their allies in another World War.
This will end in all flesh being destroyed.
We're at a point when our weapons are so powerful that we could destroy the earth over and over. And if it goes to that point where no one is giving in, then humanity is screwed. None of these leader we have has any moral proclivity towards preserving life because it's all about the money and none of them realize that this could go over the edge of no return because they all think they know what they're doing.

Like most territorial disputes in history, when two powers with similar military capabilities start fighting over land it drags on for far, far longer than anyone ever imagined. And it results in economic, social and governmental decimation for both parties that eventually pushes them to a point where they have to choose between using the ace up their sleeve (in this case, nukes) or coming to a compromise.
This will be no different than any other time this has happened in history. The war will drag on for years and years, with both sides refusing to accept defeat but also refusing to give the same effort they did at the start out of the fear of losing everything. It will only end after the respective governments are repopulated with new people who see no benefit in continuing the war.

The fact that you think Russia and Ukraine have similar military capabilities just negated everything you said afterwards. That’s like comparing the U.S to Canada. Russia is not even mobilized and their military hardware far exceeds Ukraine, you also forgot to mention that Russia has total air superiority. Without any NATO intervention this’ll most likely be over before the winter. You’d probably know this if it weren’t for the fact that you get all your information from western mainstream media which has a vested interest in misinforming their viewers.

Except for the fact Russia's military operational competence and technology have been far too over-valued for years....and here we are, watching them retreat due mainly to the overwhelming capabilities of Western tech provided to the Ukrainians.
Do you see how HIMARS, AGM-88's, Switch-blade drones, Javelin missiles can absolutely decimate a much larger military? Hell we haven't even deployed the true might of NATO air-power yet, imagine if the F-35, B-2, B1B, Predators are thrown into the picture with true Full-Spectrum battlefield capability.
Russia's military is weak, its weak because the oligarchs in charge have squandered their money, they haven't invested in training or R&D, they have just merely stockpiled old out-dated technology that has very little functional battlefield capability against superior tech.
Meanwhile the U.S. has been pumping TRILLIONS of dollars into weapons development for the past 50 years.....

Whenever someone asks a question, 'Were you there?".. (In his case, most likely not..he probably was hanging out in Poland for a day or two and then rushed back to tell his friends and media he was there) His typical response is not to answer or being all secret squirrel vague about it... Honestly, i think this guy is full of shit most of the time and it's all about money and marketing himself and lead people to believe he did much more than he actually did. I just have learned him too well by now of his patterns of what he says and does (or claims to have done.. or "we" did it when in actuality, he was not there onsite at all or for less than 36 hours.
