My own father wasn't gay, but definitely afraid of the gay community. He was wealthy and retired at 48. He started traveling a bit and I was so happy for him. In just a few short months, my dad became a hermit and for the next 22 years never left home except to go to the doctor. I would scream at him...DAD, PLEASE LIVE! GO, HAVE FUN! The stock market crash lost a lost of his wealth and he thought he was broke. Freddie lived. He enjoyed every day.
Julian Collante - Well said. The way I see it; and I'm a conservative person by nature, for people who believe that homosexuality is a sin, I would like to say to them; respectfully: "Hate the act, but don't hate the person. Experience is what shapes us as human beings, and you don't know what they've gone through in their life, just like they don't know what you've gone through in your life, nor perhaps all the experiences that have helped to shape you and who you are. Though they may not be living their life the way you might feel is correct, and you're entitles to your beliefs just like anyone else, but do try to view as people; with the same basic thoughts and feelings that you have. If you've ever asked yourself the question: 'What would Jesus do?' well I believe that's what Jesus would do."'

@jekel thirteen .... You can go from having AIDS to not having AIDS from the drugs... Once viral replication is controlled the immune system can bounce back ...
Truth is a matter of what side of the table you are sitting at. And you have accepted what you have chosen to believe as"truth". Mercury was not a satanist he followed a religion older than christianity. And for the record look up what year "satan" was introduced into the bible and for what reason before you spew your "truth". Religion is to believe someone elses experience, spirituality is to live and have a personal encouter with the divine...
Christ is the truth you accepted, false idol hmmmmm look at similarities between your christ and one of the gods of egypt. Look at where your holidays came from. Your "religion" has convenienently borrowed characters from other religions as well as holidays reshaped, renamed and repackaged them and is outright selling them. Do your research into what you say and what you believe in before you open your mouth

Freddie only missed the various treatments by a short period, still what a life and what a gift he had left for us all, his voice was out of this world, he would have to be the most versatile of all the great singers, he could do it all, how he could deliver songs like The Show Must Go On at that stage is phenomenal
What a beautiful and touching story of our beloved Freddie, John Blount was magical as portraying Freddie. For all of us who continue to love him, this was a fantastic story which was told with compassion. Love you Freddie, you will forever be in my heart...
I think most of the Queen fans have been waited for such a documentary like this. I've always wondered how this movie doesn't exists yet. Thank you for making this! Freddie Mercury, we'll never forget you!!!
Simply, before his death, Freddie announced he got aids. So everything up to that point is up for movie. He never showed himself sick, and hide his sickness, so he didn't want people to know about his suffering. That means everything after him getting the disease up to his death stays where it should be, in memories of his close ones
Nothing nor anybody, will make me think in a different way, he was unique, he was so Special, with his weaknesses and strenghs. that's why he is more than a mith, he is a legend. He Just LIVED. He took risks but he lived on his own. Eternal Freddie.

xristina papadopoulou if satan said he was a great person and that everybody should be like him. would you at least feel a bit uneasy it was satan who said that? maybe Ferd was all those things. maybe not. its comes down to where the moral bar is set in your personal life.
xristina papadopoulou you have got to remember that back then HIV and aids was quite new and undiscovered to the public. It was in fact a "gay disease". It was undoubtedly a really cruel statement, but it was a talk of the times, just like a lot of things we today think nothing special about once was unknown territory, full of myths and ignorance.
Freddie may have only been on this earth for 45 years, but he still made the world a slightly brighter and happier place for his music. RIP Freddie, 😔 The world is poorer without you
The nerve of some people, he was wicked....The man lived life the way he wanted and that was his penalty he paid. I don't think it is anyone's business how he chose to live and die. As fans we need to remember that we are to enjoy the performance these people put on and leave it there. They are entertainers and what they do when they aren't performing is nobody's business. I will remember Freddie's Astounding vocals and showmanship persona, I was 11 when he died and while it was sad, he lived his life his way and accomplished a lot. Thanks Freddie
nicely said i was 5 years old when Freddie died he will always be alive with his talent we hear in his music. his songs never get old i listen over and over.
How people moralize, tho, how they choose to live... often affects the lives of others. Yes each one can live as he wants & chooses, but it does not make it okay or morally right. The WAY to live RIGHT, to live righteously, is GOD... HE is the Truth, not deception.. He is the Light in the darkness, doubt, despair... & He is the WAY, His law, to forgiveness, life more abundant & the soul's life in Glory Eternal. His work, music, voice, talent were amazing gifts from God, but the path, the way he chose to live them out... was of his own doing alone, for only his OWN pleasures, even by that for his fans... & not much of ways primarily pleasing to God. We sense his emptiness to not acknowledge or even thank God. There must be more.
It would be nice to have a sequel about Freddie's working life and his relationship with Mary. Since John Blunt did such an exceptional portrayal here, he'd be the natural choice. During his life, I was never a fan of this band, preferring American blues, but this production has opened my heart and eyes to something and someone special. 🍃
Es muss ein schmerzhafter tot für ihn gewesen sein. Freddie mercury ist für mich eine Legende und war ein klasse Sänger und egal was er für ein Leben führte, jeder Mensch darf Leben wie er möchte.

round105 not only looks like him but he becomes Freddie. We lost to many good singers actors, and brilliant mind's to this virus. He was at the top of his game his voice died with him. We don't have not one singer with his voice singing like him this virus it's not killing white black. He is killing the human race. We have to stop fighting each other. This virus declared war on human race. And is winning the war. Africa alone has from 100, prostitutes 75 infected. They still believe it's a curse. And not a virus. Or believe that the whites created this virus to get rid of them.
He was sent to a "British style" boarding school in India at the age of 8. Everyone in those schools had gay experiences as the only ones u were with during puberty were the same sex. Rest in paradise Freddie Mercury! You’ll always be loved & missed!! 💜🌻💜🌻💜
This documentary is a million times better than the movie (Bohemian Rhapsody 2018). A documentary with a shoestring budget compared to the millions poured into the movie manages to be incomparably better. Amazing work.
Actually...there are claims, including statements from Brian May himself, that have indicated that had Freddie lived another year -until 1992, "the cocktail" had been perfected and was available to the rich (might explain why and how Jim Hutton, Freddie's partner who was known in '91 to be HIV + as well...actually lived another 2 decades...he died in 2010,of lung cancer(and WAS known and considered a true hard-core, "chain-smoker")
His body was also very weak because Freddie had taken drugs at the beginning of the infection. He also reacted more than half a year too late because of the test result. The doctors even predicted: "That he only had until the end of 1989 to live!" That Freddie lived another two years was almost a miracle. Jim Hutton, although he smoked but did not take drugs, lived a healthier life, exercised and had a stronger and more stable body. His immune system was simply more hardened against Freddie's.
@@NebulasecuraActually, the cocktail was so effective that it was called the "Lazarus cocktail", because it resurrected people who were hours from death to a state of good health in a matter of weeks. When antibiotics and insulin were first introduced, this happened as well, utterly shocking medicine. It had never seen anything like this.

Freddie meant so much for so many people.
I was flabbergasted and hope he had the best time since he was so talented and no one should have to suffer and die like that.

It was his private life, come on. Nevermind what he did or did not in the bed. Think about him as great singer, frontman and human being.
Julian Collante we can't do anything about it, "perks of being famous" I guess
My own father wasn't gay, but definitely afraid of the gay community. He was wealthy and retired at 48. He started traveling a bit and I was so happy for him. In just a few short months, my dad became a hermit and for the next 22 years never left home except to go to the doctor. I would scream at him...DAD, PLEASE LIVE! GO, HAVE FUN! The stock market crash lost a lost of his wealth and he thought he was broke. Freddie lived. He enjoyed every day.
Julian Collante - Well said.
The way I see it; and I'm a conservative person by nature, for people who believe that homosexuality is a sin, I would like to say to them; respectfully:
"Hate the act, but don't hate the person.

It was the fact that they tried, and the fact that they had shown his death. It's disrespectful, and it really bothers a lot of people. No hate though. 😁

Freddie only missed the various treatments by a short period, still what a life and what a gift he had left for us all, his voice was out of this world, he would have to be the most versatile of all the great singers, he could do it all, how he could deliver songs like The Show Must Go On at that stage is phenomenal

Simply, before his death, Freddie announced he got aids. So everything up to that point is up for movie. He never showed himself sick, and hide his sickness, so he didn't want people to know about his suffering. That means everything after him getting the disease up to his death stays where it should be, in memories of his close ones

xristina papadopoulou if satan said he was a great person and that everybody should be like him. would you at least feel a bit uneasy it was satan who said that? maybe Ferd was all those things. maybe not. its comes down to where the moral bar is set in your personal life.
xristina papadopoulou you have got to remember that back then HIV and aids was quite new and undiscovered to the public. It was in fact a "gay disease". It was undoubtedly a really cruel statement, but it was a talk of the times, just like a lot of things we today think nothing special about once was unknown territory, full of myths and ignorance.

@@annraczok3163He was great, but no Freddie Mercury...
It would be nice to have a sequel about Freddie's working life and his relationship with Mary. Since John Blunt did such an exceptional portrayal here, he'd be the natural choice.

Great comment right here.....
This documentary is a million times better than the movie (Bohemian Rhapsody 2018).
A documentary with a shoestring budget compared to the millions poured into the movie manages to be incomparably better. Amazing work.
If he had gotten sick five years later he would have lived. But the same could be said for many of the people who died of AIDS.
@momto3rs56 by then though freddie would have likely been beyond saving because of the damage caused to his body by the disease by then.
His body was also very weak because Freddie had taken drugs at the beginning of the infection. He also reacted more than half a year too late because of the test result.
The doctors even predicted: "That he only had until the end of 1989 to live!"
That Freddie lived another two years was almost a miracle.
@@MINOUTFTABOUHuh. Interesting and sad. Yeah, Freddie did a ton of drugs in the 70s and 80s and that probably accelerated the progression of the disease. Didn't know his partner was also HIV positive.
