  • In this episode we explore an abandoned Mediterranean style mansion once owned by the Bin Laden family. Khalil Bin Laden, one of Osama Bin Laden's 54 siblings, purchased the property for $1.6 million dollars in 1980. Osama Bin Laden was the mastermind behind the September 11 attacks of 2001 and the founder of the Pan-Islamic militant organization Al-Qaeda. Khalil and his family fled under police escort shortly after 9/11, fearing they may be targeted in relation to the terrorist attacks. The mansion has sat empty ever since. Built in 1928, the property features 1,200 ft of private shoreline, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a 4 car detached garage, a 3,000 ft carriage house and horse stables.
We hope you all enjoy this exploration and please be sure to give us a like and subscribe if you haven't already! We really appreciate your support! The walk-in closet in the main house is called a cedar closet and it's meant to help control moths from eating the clothes. You'll see cedar closets for things like fur coats. Cedar also helps to control moisture. Cedar closets are extremely expensive to build. In older homes, cedar closets were built. At Walmart, they sell cedar blocks that you can hang up with items in a suit bag. Those blocks are expensive and you'll start to get an idea of how much it costs to build an entire closet out of cedar. I absolutely love the smell of cedar closets. Once you know the smell of cedar, you'll recognize the smell every time. When I build a house, I 100% would want a cedar closet. My grandfather and grandmother's home had cedar closets and it's such a clean smell.

The "foam" inside the doors is likely for sound proofing. The wood inside the closets is likely "cedar" to help deter bugs of sorts.

The US Government ought to seize this real estate, sell it and then give the proceeds to the families of the 911 victims.

Word is "seize", and I'm not sure how our government could justify stealing this property and giving proceeds to victims of 9-11 when this man had no participation in his brother's transgressions. It just doesn't work that way.

The Juliet balconies are to make small rooms feel more spacious. They also give it the look of a balcony when the windows are open. One more benefit is added security when the windows are open. So there are a few reasons why people add them to a home. A bidet is for a quick clean of your privates.

    Beautiful home.
“It’s almost approaching 100 years old now. It was built in the 1920′s. Originally owned by a guy who was a chemist for Jello. From there it went through the hands of the owner of the Tupperware company and after that ended, then in the 1980′s in the hands of Osama Bin Laden’s Brother, Khalil. He owned it up until 9/11 when they were flown out,”.

The chemistry for Jello owned it. Some other person of wealth owned it. Kahlil Bin Laden, Osama's brother night it for his wife in 1980. After 9/11 they were police escorted, (probably for their own safety. Kahlil had nothing to do with al qaida at all), off the property.

Bought by Bin Laden family in 80s they ran away after the 2001 Twin Towers bombings because they made a fake video to blame him his own extended family. They always act that way when one of them is so rich and doing well in USA his genealogy. They ran away one of his family living there that year 2001.
After that it was leased out and used for weddings the reason you see it looks less damaged. There is a caretaker looking after it.

Those RED sinks appear to be manufactured by "KOHLER"... They aren't cheap either, as they are cast-iron... Sorry, but they were available in the early 70's... My parents built a home in 1973 & had KOHLER products installed all through the house... A hugh Orange sink in the kitchen, Red fixtures in one of the bathrooms, another bath had Yellow-Gold fixtures, & more...

absolutely gorgeous Spanish Revival home. Such a shame... One of the few abandoned mansions I've seen on YT that I actually like, most of the others are ugly 90's to mid 2000's creations and are not worth saving

You should check out BigBankz… he is pretty knowledgeable on the finds of old abandoned mansions… his coolest one is a glass $80 million with helicopter hanger…. It has 3 Time Capsules that dates the year they should be open …. Coolest insane bullet proof.shooting range …. Oh man …see it it’s so amazing …… it’s the Evergreen Crystal Palace

Spanish moss. Collected for decades for matress stuffing, chair cushions, even pillows for poorer people. It used to be collected by the ton for commercial use.

If nobody has mentioned; the tub in the small room off the kitchen at 42:30 is something that you would put a water heater into. It sits in the tub and the tub catches any condensation. Also if it ever leaked the tub would hopefully catch the water and the pipes would direct it towards a drain or someplace better than onto the floor beneath it.
That's all it is. Looks like a little pantry off the kitchen and a water heater was in there.

It is not weird that the Swimming pool is gated. It's so wildlife that roams the nearby lake wont take up living in the pool or being an unwanted visitor in the pool. Snakes, aligators, things like that.

I actually really enjoyed this video. The house is gorgeous, I love the marble bathroom with that increible view outside, and the materials and architecture. The "THING" beside the toilet is a bidet. It is a wonderful addition to any bathroom, in certain European countries you have those, my parents' house had one, so I grew up fresh and clean - you just jump on it and sit down and wash your privates after using the toilet and paper. Trust me, it's awesome, there is a water jet in it, and you can use soap or some other cleansing agent. In the GUEST house, the weird thing on the floor in the pantry I believe is where the water heater would go. Beautiful home, location is spectacular, I'd love to have it.

The really expensive older homes had the prep sink and grill cooking area as well as the conventional stove and sink. Not unusual really cool if you are really into cooking but highly coveted. This is an amazing house but needs a lot of repairs to bring it back to it's former gorgeous beauty. The sinks are not red, they are rust color or red brick to match the brick. The great smell in the bedrooms are the all cedar lined closets which cost a fortune. The wrought iron faux turrets ourside the bedrooms are only their for the outer aes·thet·ics to add to the outside beauty of the home.

Fantastic exploring guys.. just to answer a few questions you have.. The closets .. some made of cedar wood and some more cedar chip board. They both serve the same purpose cedar is a non-molding wood and bathrooms closets saunas all use them so that the smell of the cedar would permeate into the clothing and there would never be a smell of mold. … I’m actually surprised there isn’t a prayer room in there with Middle Eastern prayer room influences which may be what the large converted room in the garage area was used for… I remember the US State department allowing the Bin Laden Family members to fly in 2001… friends of GW Bush.. Saudi Royalty.. etc.

The door with styrofoam is because it’s a hollowed out door. They are cheaper as opposed to a heavier solid panel all the way through. The styrofoam helps dampen the sound and provide support for the front and back panels of the door.
