2013 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Start Dec 26th Sydney Harbour. Sensational start

The start of the Rolex Sydney Hobart on a sparkling Sydney Harbour was very fast. A reach down the habour was led by Wild Oats XI from Perpetual LOYAL and Beau Geste. The first two maxis (100 footers) were chased by and nearly caught by Karl Kwok's new 80 footer. A real drag race that saw them exit the harbour in a very fast time.

Go Kerumba. Disappointed they did not show some of the middle of the fleet. Looks like a fantastic start.

The start was very fast as you can see and I had to follow the front runners and by the time we'd filmed that action the rest of the fleet had spread around the horizon behind them. To do justice to all I needed at least 5 camera boats.
