    At this point, I think unburned oil on the exhaust deflector will clog up the exhaust more than deposits on the spark arrester screen.

    It get's plugged..and your trimmer won't run properly. Take it out and leave it out! Problem solved!

      @American Constellation....I think mine is plugged up but the screws are stuck and the metal is so soft the heads start to strip with very little torque applied.
