    Below is a summary:
Dr. Mark Hyman discusses his 10-day detox program, which is designed to reset the body by removing harmful foods and replacing them with beneficial ones. The program is based on the principle that food is medicine, providing not just energy but also instructions that program our biology. By eating the right foods, we can regulate gene expression, hormones, brain chemistry, the immune system, and the microbiome.
**Key Pillars of the 10-Day Detox Program:**
    1. **Eat Real Food:** The diet focuses on consuming whole foods like non-starchy vegetables, good fats, fiber, and clean protein. This includes a variety of vegetables, avocados, olive oil, nuts, seeds, and proteins like grass-fed meat and organic plant-based options like tempeh.
    2. **Remove Inflammatory Foods:** The detox involves eliminating foods that cause inflammation, such as processed foods, sugar, dairy, coffee, gluten, alcohol, and most grains and beans.
    3. **Daily Habits:** Establishing a pattern of eating and living that puts the body back in rhythm is crucial. This includes eating within a 10 to 12-hour window and fasting overnight for 12 to 14 hours, as well as ensuring quality sleep and regular sleep patterns.
    4. **Supplementation:** Dr. Hyman suggests that even with a perfect diet, supplementation is necessary due to the reduced nutrient density of modern food. Recommended supplements include a multivitamin, magnesium, vitamin D, and possibly fish oil.
    **Program Steps:**
    1. **Follow the Approved Food List:** For 10 days, stick to the foods recommended by the detox program.
    2. **Commit to Daily Habits:** Choose a new eating window, avoid snacking before bed, and establish a consistent bedtime routine.
    3. **Add Supplements:** While optional, supplements can support the detox process.
    **Post-Detox Guidance:**
After completing the detox, reintroducing foods should be done carefully to avoid adverse reactions. Dr. Hyman advises continuing the principles of the detox if it yields positive results and transitioning to a more flexible diet, such as the pegan diet, over time.
    **Conclusion:**
Dr. Hyman emphasizes the importance of listening to one's body and using the detox as a way to understand how food impacts health. He encourages doing the detox with a friend or group for accountability and better success rates.

For proteins, it recommends grass-fed or organically raised meats such as lamb, beef, bison, venison, elk, pasture-raised chicken, turkey, duck, wild-caught fish like salmon, sardines, anchovies, herring, mackerel, and pasture-raised eggs. Nuts and seeds are also a key part of the diet, including almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and unsweetened nut butters.
Healthy oils and fats are encouraged, such as organic avocado oil, coconut oil, grass-fed ghee, extra virgin olive oil, flax oil, hemp oil, macadamia oil, sesame oil, and tahini.
A wide range of non-starchy vegetables are recommended, including asparagus, artichokes, avocado, bean sprouts, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, garlic, ginger, hearts of palm, kale, leafy greens, mushrooms, onions, peppers, radishes, seaweed, shallots, summer squash, tomatoes, turnips, zucchini, and in limited amounts, carrots, sweet potatoes, and winter squash.
For fruits, low glycemic options like blackberries, blueberries, cranberries, kiwi, lemons, limes, and raspberries are suggested, but in controlled quantities to avoid high sugar intake.
In terms of beverages, plenty of water, herbal teas, green tea, sparkling or mineral water are recommended.
The diet advises avoiding processed foods, sugar, dairy, gluten, alcohol, grains, beans, high glycemic fruits like bananas, pineapples, melons, cherries, grapes, conventional processed meats and seafood, high-heat cooking oils and trans fats, and artificial sweeteners and sugar-laden products. @neerasharma1519 - he is telling you "Real Foods" .. that means everything fresh and 'real.' It means nothing packaged, boxed, processed. No fast food, takeaways.
So fresh meats, chicken, fish, eggs, vegetables of different colours, salad vegetables (not starchy carbohydrates like rice pasta potatoes), real healthy fats like olive oil, ghee, nuts and seeds, avocados. This is "Real Food" the kind you'd find at a Farmer's market (not a processed food store).

10 years ago, I spent 3 months eating nothing but raw vegetables, fruits, nuts and cooked beans for protein. Back then I suffered from many ailments from severe menstrual cramps, poor circulation, fatigue, constipation, always feeling cold, varicose & spider veins, allergies, the list goes on. I was in my 40s, not over weight, but really unhealthy; the majority of my food was processed, fried and alot of it was smothered in cheese and I rarely ate any vegetables. When I first went on this eating plan I thought I would always be hungry, but I was eating so much fiber that I had to force myself to eat because I never felt hungry. I had been on this new eating plan 3 days when my period came. My menstrual cramps normally felt like I was giving birth to my period every month, it was horrible, but just 3 days on my eating plan and my period came and went with no cramps. I couldn't believe it! That was my motivation to keep going. Within 3 weeks I noticed my hands and feet were never cold anymore, my nose which is always running and congested was clear and after 2 months my fatigue was gone and I had so much energy. I didn't originally plan to do 3 months, just wanted to see how how long I could do it for. To be honest it was hard to do, eating pretty much the same thing every day got boring. I basically grazed all day. I would pre-cut up vegetables and store them in the fridge for quick access. Avocados and bananas I wld cut up last minute. The only reason I ended up "falling off the wagon" so to speak was because I was traveling over the summer to visit family & it became too hard to maintain the eating since I couldnt keep vegetables cold in the car for long periods of time. Fastforward 10 yrs and my circulation is getting worse now that I am older (50s) and I want to try the detox eating again. I would say if your able to do it cold turkey, that wld be great, if not then fill up your plate with vegetables, fruits, and nuts and a small bit of protein (fish, chicken, beans, etc.) and then tell yourself your reward is the protein if u can finish the veggies, fruit & nuts first. I want to get back to feeling healthy again so I can be around along time for my kids who I ended up having late in life. Good luck everyone, I am rooting for u! 🥰

I love coffee and drink 2-3 cups of coffee everyday. 2 cups regular and the rest is decaf. I buy one that processed with the Swiss water method. Coffee is really good for your liver. I think at some point it saved my health drinking black coffee no sugar, no sweeteners and no cream/milk. Though I drink it with cream or have a cheese with it as a dessert. I told in my post that I strongly believe that consumption of coffee helped me to save my health. It was one of contributors that I don't have chronic diseases I may have if I would not be drinking coffee. First time I was thinking about it while I was in Italy. They smoke (lots of them), they drink coffee, they drink wine. They walk a lot, they do not stress and not overworking, they eat in moderation. I was surprised that it is one of the healthiest nations in Europe. Why I started to look into this? Because I was surprised how good Italian women look. So, getting rid of everything coffee, carbs, alcohol etc. may not be the answer.....

Bob Roman's Summary: 10 day Reset! The Great Reset!
Here is a 10 point summary and outline of the key principles from the 10 Day Reset Diet video:
    1. Eat real, whole foods - Food is medicine that programs your biology. Eat foods that reduce inflammation and toxicity.
    2. Remove inflammatory/toxic foods - Get rid of processed foods, sugar, dairy, coffee, gluten, alcohol, grains, beans.
    3. Eat lots of veggies, healthy fats, clean protein - Focus your diet around non-starchy veggies, avocados, olive oil, nuts/seeds, grass-fed/organic meats and fish.
    4. Don't restrict calories - Eat as much real food as you want, focus on food quality not quantity.
    5. Time your eating - 12-14 hour overnight fast, no snacking before bed. Gives digestion a rest.
    6. Prioritize sleep - Crucial for health, mood, cravings. Wind down/disconnect 1-2 hrs before bed.
    7. Take supportive supplements - Multivitamin, magnesium, vitamin D, fish oil. Nutrient insurance.
    8. Follow the approved foods list - Details good proteins, fats, veggies, fruits, oils, nuts, seeds, herbs/spices.
    9. Add back foods slowly - Reintroduce foods one at a time over 3 days each to check reactions.
    10. Listen to your body - It's the smartest doctor. The program works if you feel significantly better.

I also used a s Detox by Flora and on day 7, I stood up and all of my aches and pain was 100% gone. It took me 3 days to learn to walk properly as my knees would come up to my hips - like a puppet. I was 95% vegetarian at the time also. I was back to pain etc at about 2 weeks. No more vegan after that either. I should try again and do an food elimination thing perhaps. I now know that Whole Grain wheat etc is bad for me as I can tell in about 2-3 days.

Hi David, I am having an issue with coming off the detox. My husband has high blood sugar and I am rather normal/ low. I had agreed to this detox to try it out and see what results it yielded.
The results that yielded during the detox were pretty good. Occasionally, I had to have sugar / carbs otherwise I would pass out or just fall asleep. The detox left me very hungry all the time .
When I got off the detox I just went back to eating “my normal diet” which has left me very disappointed because I am having severe spikes whenever I I have anything with sugar and worse with bread/ carbs in it. My body would either sneeze a ton- 8 times in a row, runny nose, my eyes would swell up. The worse thing is that my eyes would have problems in the morning opening and. My skin is very snagged.
I am 44 , slim guy in good health and before this detox I didn’t have these issues and for the past week after ending I have.
What is the best course of action?
I am not interested in being on this detox full time and eating nuts all the time does not satisfy - fill me up. Also, I am not interested in a Pegan Diet. The after effect of the detox is very disappointing. Please help .

Thanks for this detox plan. I have done it last year and felt amazing. This plan has worked best for me so far, I lost a lot of weight in 10 days although I am not overweight and the weight stayed off. Now I am back on it since two weeks and want to eat this way more long term. I don’t hunger myself and eat until I am full.
Preparation is really the key to this eating lifestyle. I am always making sure to have my fridge full with veggies and healthy proteins so that I don't start graving other foods out of hunger. That takes some time but is definitely worth it.

From my understanding those sensitivities come from damage to the gut, not that those substances are a problem normally but become a problem for some when they develop leaky gut (intestinal permeability). What happens is substances that are supposed to stay in the intestines are able to leak out and get to places they don't belong. Then your body reacts as if it were a foreign substance bc it's in places it's not supposed to be. So after you heal your gut you should be able to add those normally healthy plants back into your diet..but healing the gut has ALWAYS got to be step one. If your gut is inflamed things will leak, bad bacteria will take over and you won't be able to absorb the good stuff (healthy foods and supplements) you put in. It's also important to go organic whenever possible bc the biocides used in conventional farming causes these issues (the breakdown of the microbiome, the intestinal lining leading to leaky gut). Detoxing is very important in our modern world, we're constantly exposed to an amount our bodies are just not equipped to deal with. When it's more than we can deal with our bodies send it off to be stored in other parts of the body bc it doesn't know what else to do with it.

I agree. We shouldn't be eating leaves for example. I ask myself, why are we eating leaves?? When did we start eating leaves as part of our diet, and, in the amounts we do?? It makes no sense. Also, we never had access to all these plant foods 100 years ago. Some didn't even exist until we started hybridizing them to make them taste better.
We have been brainwashed to believe that we need all these plant foods they sell now.
We need to simplify and go back to basics!

@@jamiebarnes3531 we absolutely ate plants, leaves, stems, roots and in much more quantity than today. We were gatherers, we ate whatever we could find. Lots of variety and from an environment that wasn't full of all sorts of man made toxins. We may have created new hybrids but that doesn't mean there was lack of variety, there was far more variety before bc the land was wild. Plant life was abundant. We've caused a lack of variety due to our terra forming, land clearing, pollution and mono crops. The microbiome is the foundation of health, prob the most important aspect. The more plant matter and the greater the variety the healthier the microbiome. Look into the subject of plant compounds and their benefits..and that's only what we know so far. The vast majority of plant compounds have yet to be identified and studied. What we know so far proves beyond doubt that these substances are crucial for disease prevention and optimal health.

There's ever conflicting studies on coffee. Probably to do with the fact that when they do these studies it's just observational, they typically just ask people if they drink coffee, how much, how often, how long..leaving out some very important distinctions like whether it's organic (non organic coffee is loaded w toxins) and how they prepare it. Pretty sure ORGANIC coffee without all the unhealthy additions (sugar, coffee mate, flavored syrups, etc) is actually good for you, lots of antioxidants. I've even seen studies that say some caffeine is good for the brain.

He is including so many foods that may cause some people problems. After a couple months on carnivore, introduce one food at a time back in to monitor your reaction. Do your own research about benefits of carnivore. Why not give it a try. Our ancestors did not eat all these other foods

Although, I agree with most of this, I have issue with the mostly veggies and lots of fibre. We should be cognizant of the type of veggies we eat. Not all are good for us. Some do us more harm than good, such as leaves; spinach and kale and swiss chard, etc. They have many anti nutrients.
Fibre is also a nutrient blocker and actually causes constipation. Fibre is also hard on the colon and can increase the risk of colon cancer.
